The taste is delicious. The location is good too. However, the strictness of how the staff work and the attention to detail is a bit disheartening. Also, the value of the set menus is not very clear. It's a shame. I think everyone might get tired as it is now. I'll say it again, the taste is delicious. Thank you for the meal.

There is a sign saying "Please order one item per person or more," but I wonder if there are people who don't follow that. I waited for 10 to 20 minutes as told, but ended up waiting for an hour. Some customers left without ordering, but the waiting line didn't get any shorter. Some people gave up and left. If they were more efficient, the turnover rate would increase. I had both the mixed and seafood okonomiyaki, and they were delicious, but I got tired of waiting.

When you come to Osaka, you have to try okonomiyaki! So I came to Dotonbori. There are many shops selling flour-based dishes lined up, with long queues. The shop I visited was recommended by a friend from Kansai. "Domusu" is the oldest okonomiyaki restaurant in Dotonbori, opened in 1979. Located on the basement floor of a building, this shop is not very noticeable at first glance. Most of the shops with long queues are chain stores, but this is a homely shop run by a father and daughter. They cook on a large iron plate and bring it to your table. The menu looks like this. We consulted our stomachs and placed our order. First, we tried the yam okonomiyaki for 1,480 yen. It had yam on top and plenty of yam in the batter. It was fluffy and surprising! Next, we tried the green onion and beef tendon okonomiyaki for 1,030 yen, which is the most popular. It had a mature taste, not in a bad way, more like an adult okonomiyaki. We added one more because it seemed like it wasn't enough. Oh, there were three of us. The Domusu original okonomiyaki for 1,880 yen had pork, squid, octopus, shrimp, scallops, beef, and egg. We paid an extra 200 yen to have it as "modern-yaki." It was quite filling, but we enjoyed every last bite. They use castella flour for the batter. Osaka's okonomiyaki is really delicious, and we were very satisfied with this restaurant.

Continuing from yesterday, I had okonomiyaki again today \(^o^)/ I went to a restaurant near Shinsaibashi! I ordered the beef tendon and green onion okonomiyaki, as well as the yam okonomiyaki. The yam okonomiyaki was fluffy and really delicious☆ The beef tendon and green onion okonomiyaki is a popular menu item that goes well with alcohol!

Dinner on the second day of the Osaka trip! The place we wanted to go had a long line, so we gave up and went here instead! It was before 8:00 PM and the restaurant was quite empty. We ordered a draft beer (550 yen) and kimchi (400 yen) to start and made a toast! After walking around in the hot weather all day, the draft beer was so refreshing. We ordered two menu items, thinking one would be enough, but my companion eats a lot despite being slim! - Dokumushi-yaki (1880 yen): Pork, squid, octopus, shrimp, scallops, beef, and egg inside. Basically, it's a mix of everything. Personally, I felt like a seafood mix would have been better. But it was delicious! Fluffy texture with just the right amount of sauce. And the little joy of finding shrimp in it (I love shrimp). - Negi-tako-iri (980 yen): My first time or maybe after a long time trying negiyaki (green onion pancake). It was seasoned with soy sauce rather than sauce. Since we had the okonomiyaki first, this one felt a bit bland and unsatisfying. It might be better to order this one first! The staff brings the flour mixture and cooks it on the hot plate, so it's always hot and fresh. We didn't have to wait in line to get in, but the taste was good, so it was worth it. However, the service was disappointing. It was just the two of us left, and the staff were already closing up or something, so it was a bit sloppy. Later, about three more groups of customers came in, which seemed unexpected and chaotic. When we asked for the bill and waited for change, it took a while. We had to remind them to bring the change, and finally, they did (laughs). The young couple next to us seemed anxious watching our situation. It would be better if the staff had more awareness of their surroundings. I'll say it again, the food was delicious!!! If you can't get into the famous places, this is a good alternative in terms of taste. Thank you for the meal!

- What I ate: Negiyaki (with green onion) for ¥1030, Okonomiyaki (pork and cabbage) for ¥870 - Rating: 3 stars - The okonomiyaki had a gooey texture, but I didn't really taste the broth in the batter. The vegetables like cabbage were quite prominent. The negiyaki had plenty of green onions, but the soy sauce seasoning was a bit light. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I probably won't go back next time.

Located a 6-8 minute walk from Namba Station, is the popular okonomiyaki restaurant, Domusu. Established in 1979, this restaurant in Dotonbori attracts many tourists and is always bustling. With its old-fashioned Osaka atmosphere, it's a great spot for those looking to enjoy a traditional downtown vibe. We ordered the popular menu items, Butatama and Butasoba. The okonomiyaki, made with yam, was fluffy and tender, topped with the classic sweet and savory sauce and mayonnaise, creating a taste that truly represents Osaka. It's no wonder why this dish is so popular among tourists! If you're strolling around Dotonbori, be sure to stop by and try it out. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It seems like they are quite busy on Sundays around 3 pm, but it is appreciated that they bring the food after it's freshly cooked. Please note that you can only place one order, no additional orders allowed.

I ordered the negiyaki with negi-sujii and it was delicious. This must be a typical okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka, right?

When I came to Osaka 10 years ago, I always come here to eat. The cabbage melts in your mouth and the dashi flavor is exquisite. The moment you finish eating, you want to eat it again.

This is just a normal okonomiyaki. In my opinion, it's neither delicious nor bad. It's so average that there's nothing special to write about. I don't think it's worth visiting as a tourist. I did feel like it was a bit expensive for the taste.

I wanted to eat flour-based dishes in Osaka, so I visited the long-established okonomiyaki restaurant Domusu. The cozy underground interior with about 5 table seats and 6 counter seats was inviting. I ordered the Domusu-yaki, Mochi Bacon, and the popular Negi Suji-yaki. The prices are as per the menu. The Negi-yaki was refreshing and delicious with a thick sauce. However, the sauce was a bit too strong. The service seemed a bit rushed, but the food is worth the wait as it is cooked carefully. Not recommended if you are in a hurry. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant around lunchtime, and there was a bit of a wait due to some customers. While waiting, I looked at the menu photos on the wall and learned that the place has a long history, so I had high expectations. The staff took my order while I waited, but it took a while for the food and drinks to arrive. I ordered okonomiyaki, a bottle of beer, and some side dishes. The staff seemed a bit disorganized and forgot about the beer I ordered. The restaurant seemed to be popular among tourists, but the owner or manager was visibly irritated and could be heard scolding the staff. The taste of the food was not bad, but the atmosphere was uncomfortable and it was hard to enjoy the meal. If they have been in business for a long time in this location, they should focus more on the service side of things.

I decided to have lunch in Dotonbori and walked around to choose a restaurant. However, because it was a holiday, many places had long lines and the wait seemed quite long. Luckily, I happened to find a okonomiyaki restaurant with no wait, so I went in. I went downstairs and it seemed like a well-established restaurant, which raised my expectations. I ordered the pork and squid okonomiyaki and the squid butter stir-fry. The staff cooked the food and brought it to the hot plate at each table, which was a different style compared to watching it being cooked in front of you at the counter. The taste was good, but unfortunately, there was no "wow" factor. It was a satisfying meal for a regular lunch, but if you're making a special trip to Osaka for okonomiyaki, you might feel a bit disappointed.

There is a restaurant in a mixed-use building underground in Dotonbori. It has 4 counter seats and 5 table seats. The menu categories include okonomiyaki, yakisoba, negiyaki, and teppanyaki. There doesn't seem to be rice on the menu. I ordered the mixed okonomiyaki for 1130 yen with an additional 200 yen for modern style. It was cooked in the kitchen and brought to me. The tabletop grill in front of me is for keeping the food warm. The modern okonomiyaki looks a bit plain for a modern style and lacks volume. The soba noodles are steamed and soft. The batter is quite ordinary, and the sauce is sweet with a hint of artificial flavor. The ingredients include shrimp, squid, and pork. This place focuses on speed when making okonomiyaki. The total bill was 1430 yen including tax. I wish there was more attention to detail in the ingredients, noodles, or batter. Bon appétit.

I was introduced to this place by a friend. Honestly, I don't think I would have gone without any prior information, haha. It's located right in front of my store. It's an underground establishment, apparently a long-standing traditional place. The staff are surprisingly foreigners, an old man and an old lady, and the taste apparently varies depending on who cooks... Each table has a teppan grill, but the dishes are prepared in the back by the old lady and then brought to the teppan grill in front of you. They sometimes run out of yam omelette, but they had some left on this day so I ordered it. I was expecting something like the yam omelette from Mitsunono that I had in the past, but this one was just an okonomiyaki with yam in it. In other words, you don't really taste the yam much. Also, the salt yakisoba was recommended. It was... well, just average. It was tasty, but it felt like your typical teppan fried noodles. I also tried the chilled tomatoes, which were at the level of a casual izakaya. The drinks were the same. The ice-cold glass of Ichiban Shibori beer was delicious though. It might be good for daily use, but it wasn't particularly cheap. Maybe it's more suitable for locals rather than people from out of town. Even for daily use, it wasn't that cheap...

My parents-in-law came to visit from Fukuoka, so we went on a mini day trip to Osaka. We got off at Namba Station and strolled through Hozenji Yokocho. It was my father-in-law's first time in Osaka in 30 years. For lunch, we decided to have okonomiyaki in Dotonbori. We had two restaurants in mind based on research. However, one was closed and the other had a long line even before noon on a weekday. So, we gave up and found another restaurant to enter, which was "Domusu." Later, we found out that this place is a long-established restaurant founded in 1980 and is the oldest in the Dotonbori area. The name "Domusu" means "home, household, family" in Latin. The restaurant is located in the basement of a building right in front of "Ore no French Italian Matsushita Geino Kadoza Hiroba" which opens at 1 pm, but there were already many customers waiting. We went down the stairs to enter and were seated at a table at the back with two other groups of customers. We ordered bottled beer, negiyaki with suji, yamaimo yaki, mixed yakisoba, and wagyu suji simmered dish, one of each to share. They light the iron plate on the table for you, but the cooking is done by the staff on the counter's iron plate, and they bring the hot dishes to your table. The wagyu suji simmered dish was a satisfying portion for its price. It was well-cooked wagyu with konjac and green onions on top. The flavor was not too strong, making it a perfect accompaniment to beer. The negiyaki with suji, the most popular dish, was delicious with tender wagyu suji on a thin layer of batter with plenty of green onions. The yamaimo yaki, the second most popular dish, was fluffy and sticky with plenty of yamaimo and filled with pork, shrimp, and scallops topped with half-cooked egg. It had a unique texture and was tasty. The mixed yakisoba with pork, shrimp, and squid was a normal dish with medium-thick noodles, plenty of bonito flakes, and pickled ginger. The prices were a bit high for tourists, except for the wagyu suji simmered dish, so the value for money was not great. The taste was good, so it became a good memory. Thank you for the meal!
