The intense and brilliant umami flavors that fly around are impressive. When it comes to Japanese cuisine, I occasionally enjoy the variety of umami flavors that this restaurant offers, maintaining simplicity while also providing a shiny freshness. One dish that stands out is the white miso bamboo shoot dengaku. Despite its white appearance, the deep umami flavor of the white miso shines through, with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The tender and crispy texture of the bamboo shoot, along with the unique flavor of the miso, creates a truly satisfying experience. The rare tuna cutlet is also delicious and interesting. Cooking the tuna slightly enhances the flavor of the fatty parts, and the special sansho pepper sauce adds a unique touch. The somen noodles are vibrant, refreshing, and delicious as expected. The overall cost performance is quite high, making it a popular spot that always requires a wait. It's a feeling of being rejected, having to wait in line... It's a peaceful spring, a calm mind... Hopefully, I will visit again soon.

I visited the restaurant around 18:00 on a national holiday. Since the reservation slots were full, I had to check in at the store and wait for about 15 minutes before being seated. I ordered the mixed tempura bowl. I asked for extra rice. To be honest, I felt that the portion was not that great considering the price, but the conger eel and miso soup were very delicious. The restaurant is conveniently located not far from the 2nd floor ticket gates at Kyoto Station.

Recommended Japanese restaurant near Kyoto Station for enjoying a taste of traditional Japanese cuisine before or after riding the Shinkansen. I had the set meal with sea bream tea rice bowl on this day. The gentle broth and sesame sauce complemented the deliciousness of the sea bream, making it easy to eat even when not very hungry.

This is a chain store of Wakuden. Although it is a chain store, I recommend that you visit it as a separate entity! (I have been to both places many times, but Wakuden is truly exceptional.) I like it so much that whenever I go to Kyoto, I visit Hashitate as well. The seasonal set menus are recommended, with cold noodles in the summer and warm noodles in the cold weather. The taste is elegant with a Kyoto-like dashi flavor. Located inside Kyoto Station, it is perfect for experiencing the Kyoto atmosphere at the end of your journey! Depending on the time, there may be a considerable wait to enter. So, if you're short on time, I recommend getting takeout and enjoying it on the train (much better than a bento). However, the noodle broth is so delicious that I really want first-time visitors to try it in the store! They also have a great kids' set menu. It is a refined Kyoto-style kids' set menu.

In hot Kyoto, the taste of this place is amazing! I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 on Sunday. When I checked the number of people on the touch panel, there were 15 people waiting. Since I was alone, I didn't have to wait and I got a reservation slip and entered the restaurant in about 30 minutes. Even though I was alone, I was guided to a spacious table for four people. I chose the dessert "Saikou" set, with an additional charge to change to winter melon "osoume". The cold somen noodles were perfect for the hot summer, with a hint of plum and sansho oil that was incredibly delicious. The service was relaxed, and I didn't feel rushed even though I waited outside for a while. The dessert "Saikou" was also excellent. I enjoyed it with a refill of hot tea. Ah, I want to visit this restaurant again! Thank you for the meal.

Kyoto Station is very convenient. It was summer, so I couldn't help but want to order the eel dish. I had the vegetable noodle dish. It had a refreshing and elegant taste that really hit the spot after sitting on the Shinkansen for a while. It was delicious. There was a line, but we were seated fairly quickly.

I'm back again. When I'm on a business trip to Kyoto alone, this place is really convenient. The food is delicious. As soon as I arrive at the station, I think, "Kyoto is great." The eel and sea urchin rice bowl, cold noodles, refreshing. The conger eel tempura, sashimi, etc., ordering a la carte might have been even more enjoyable. I look forward to enjoying a different season next time. As a souvenir, I always buy yuzu pepper oil to take home (you can also buy it in Marunouchi).

I had some time before my Shinkansen train departure, but didn't have enough time to go outside the station. I wanted to eat something delicious rather than buying a bento box, so I hurriedly searched and found out that there was an outlet of Wakuden nearby. I decided to try the Kinmedai (Golden Eye Snapper) meal, which included Kinmedai sashimi, Kinmedai tempura, squid, spicy cod roe rice bowl, ohitashi (boiled greens), somen noodles, and pickles for 2974 yen. The Kinmedai sashimi was really delicious and fresh. Although the restaurant was small and crowded as it was located inside the station building, the food was truly exceptional!

A restaurant located in the Isetan Annex inside Kyoto Station. Don't underestimate the tenants of the department store. This is a diffusion version of Wakyuuden's Japanese restaurant. It may look like a simple eat-in corner, but you can enjoy Wakyuuden's commitment to taste. On this day, I ordered the "Kinmedai Deluxe Set". When the dish was served, I noticed an unfamiliar bottle and asked about it. It turned out to be a seasoning oil made by dissolving sansho pepper in rice oil. They said it goes well with sashimi and somen, so I tried it hesitantly, and it was amazingly delicious! It seems like it can be used with any Japanese dish, so I ended up buying a bottle. After the meal, I ordered the "Lotus Root Sweet from West Lake", which is a representative dish of Wakyuuden. It's a must-try. Thank you for the meal.

I was recommended to try Washokudo for lunch, but couldn't get a reservation, so I went to this casual brand instead. There is always a 30-40 minute wait, but if you get a numbered ticket and explore Isetan, your turn will come quickly. I was torn between the sea bream dish and the summer vegetable tempura, but I chose the tempura. The somen noodles were a bit bland for my taste, so I added a little bit of the accompanying sansho pepper oil and soy sauce. The tempura was crispy and delicious, but a bit difficult to eat due to its hardness. I wished I had chosen the sea bream instead. After finishing the meal, I was served the tea sweet "Seiko," which was delicately sweet and delicious.

When you come to Kyoto, you must visit Hashitate without fail. Usually, I stop by after shopping at Isetan on my way back, but this time we went there first. Originally, I was planning on having sukiyaki at Mishimaya, but decided to have a light meal first considering dinner reservations. We ended up here. Eating here always makes me feel relieved. It's not the most delicious, but I love the gentle flavor. The staff are well-trained. This time, my partner had the limited quantity set, and I had the sea bream rice bowl set. Both come with summer-like somen noodles, which are firm and have a good texture. The corn on top is a nice touch. The fried sea bream on mine was crispy and delicious. We also added on the toro yuba with wasabi and Kamo eggplant tempura. We underestimated how much we could eat once again... We're on the verge of bursting. I wonder if we can eat dinner later... We'll definitely come back again! Thank you for the meal.

All the menu items looked delicious and well-prepared. I ordered the eel rice bowl and sudachi somen set, and it was wonderfully refreshing. If you go at a slightly different time, you can relax. Next time, I want to try the seasonal set meal.

Hashitate is really delicious. Every time I come to Kyoto, I always come here. The rice and chirashi sushi are also delicious, but I'm on a diet so I opted for a light lunch. It used to be quiet and there was no wait, but this time I waited about 10 minutes. The eel soba with summer vegetables like eggplant, corn, cucumber, and myoga was delicious.

It seems to be part of the Washokudan group. I had a set meal with conger eel and a draft beer. The tempura bowl was delicious. The conger eel tempura was really tasty. The corn tempura was also good. The batter was not crispy, but rather soft and chewy, with a unique texture. It paired perfectly with the rich sauce. It's a different feeling from a regular tempura bowl. The cold noodles were light and tasty. However, the boiled conger eel in the noodles should have the skin removed, as it was tough and rubbery. It was delicious!

Located in JR Kyoto Isetan, this restaurant offers the taste and atmosphere of Washoku at an affordable price. You can enjoy dishes like rice bowls, somen noodles, and hot pots. The overall rating on Tabelog is 3.53, while I personally rate it at 3.5 for taste, 3.4 for portion size, 3.5 for service, and 3.5 for atmosphere. The cost performance is also rated at 3.4. It's a great place to enjoy casual dining with the flavors of Wakuuden. #Hashitate #Japanese cuisine #Kyoto #Tabelog #Kyoto gourmet #Kyoto Japanese cuisine #Kyoto Station gourmet #Wakuuden #Japanese cuisine #Kyoto Station lunch #Gourmet #Want to connect with gourmet lovers #Want to connect with gourmet lovers #Gourmet girls #Kyoto sightseeing #Lunch tour #Kyoto Station #Japanese lunch #Kyoto trip #kyotojapan #kyotostation #japanesefood #japan #japanfood #food #washoku #japanese #kyoto #Nagata-san's dining out record

I found this place while looking for a quiet spot to have a meal before catching the Shinkansen at the end of my trip to Kyoto, and it was a great find. In addition to a meal, you can also enjoy traditional Japanese sweets from the Wagashi shop and purchase condiments.

There is a shop on the 3rd floor of Kyoto Isetan's Eat Paradise. Honestly, the location was a bit hard to find. When I arrived around 10:45, there was already a line forming. I managed to get in on my first try. There were various menu options, but I ordered the lunch set for 2057 yen (tax included). It included a spring vegetable tempura rice bowl, simmered young bamboo shoots noodles with wakame, and cabbage. The broth was incredibly delicious. I also had firefly squid and rapeseed blossoms with vinegar miso dressing, which really showcased the seasonal ingredients. It was all very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

When I go to Kyoto, on the last night I always struggle between having a proper meal before catching the shinkansen or taking an earlier shinkansen and enjoying a Kyoto-style bento. This time, since it was a long trip, I decided to eat quickly and head back. The food area in front of the station's Isetan Annex was very crowded, especially on a Sunday night. I waited for about 20-30 minutes before being seated. I had the clam and spring vegetable simmered noodles, which you can season with shichimi pepper and yuzu-infused oil. It was my first time hearing about yuzu-infused oil! I thought it was very convenient, and they were also selling it at the store. The noodles were warm and light, with plenty of vegetables. It was delicious and satisfying.

The spring vegetable hot pot set with sweet broth and the bitterness of butterbur sprouts is excellent. We arrived at 19:50 and waited for about 30 minutes, but it was worth it as the place was starting to clear out and we enjoyed some hot sake as well. The dessert, Nishi Lake, tasted even better than in Tokyo, with a richer aroma and flavor. I love the artwork of Mitsuaki Ano, so I definitely want to visit Kyoto Tango. It's a shame that I can't drink alcohol when driving there...

This is a restaurant in the Kyoto area specializing in prawns. They offer a Sakura prawn tempura bowl with miso soup for 1980 yen. The tempura is crispy and fragrant, and tastes great with the yuzu pepper sauce. The white miso soup is very soothing, and the pickled vegetables are of high quality. They also offer a set of assorted side dishes with a small draft beer for 2200 yen, which was elegant and delicious.

I use this restaurant for transfers at Kyoto Station or during work. Even on regular days, there's usually a wait of about 15 people during lunchtime. It's a good idea to get a numbered ticket and do some shopping at Isetan while waiting. On this day, I got my ticket at 11:30 on Friday and had to wait for about 20 minutes. I ordered a bowl of Kinmedai sashimi with seared skin and Kinmedai tempura served with simmered noodles. The simmered noodles menu here is a must-try. Drizzle some homemade sansho oil on top, and it's irresistible.
