Today, my family and I came to KYK in Sakai Higashi for lunch. While everyone else ordered the shrimp cutlet set, I opted for the 200g thick-sliced domestic pork cutlet set. It was a hearty and juicy meal, and very delicious.

The taste was stable! It was delicious and reasonably priced! I was able to change to sixteen-grain rice for an additional 50 yen, so I couldn't get a refill, but I changed from white rice! You can have unlimited cabbage refills, but I was too full to have more. The hand-rolled plum and shiso pork cutlet(?) was 1600 yen with the rice change! Very cheap!! The staff at this restaurant were very friendly and I was able to enjoy my meal in a calm atmosphere! I arrived after 3pm and there were a few customers here and there, with many dining alone. It felt like a place where you could enter without hesitation. ^ ^

I went for lunch. It was not crowded around 11:30. I decided to order the pork cutlet but ended up choosing the lunch special with pork cutlet and shrimp fry for 980 yen, which was cheap. The sauce was delicious as always, with a nice tangy flavor. The cutlet was okay, not bad but a bit thin and lacking in flavor. It felt like a budget option. The shrimp fry was crispy but not very satisfying. I think next time I'll go for the pork cutlet.

At 3 o'clock, I had the tonkatsu set lunch for 1380 yen. It's a bit expensive for lunch, but I wanted to have some vegetables and meat after work. I ate until I was full so I wouldn't eat dinner that night. I went for lunch when I felt like I needed more vegetables. The meat was thick and not as greasy as I expected, so I didn't need any stomach medicine that day. I felt satisfied and went home. I also realized that some restaurants offer curry or allow you to serve yourself, depending on the place.

For lunch on this day, I visited the restaurant "Tonkatsu KYK Takashimaya Sakai Store". It is located on the basement floor of Takashimaya in Sakai Higashi, in the Apple section. When it comes to tonkatsu in Kansai, KYK is the best choice. Since I started working and using my own money to eat, I have come to appreciate the quality of KYK. The customers are mainly working individuals like myself and elderly locals, so the age group is on the higher side. It's not a place frequented by families or young people, but that's okay. I enjoyed my meal with rice and unlimited shredded cabbage. Sometimes, I feel like taking my time to enjoy a meal at KYK. I think I have reached an age where I understand that feeling. Thank you for the delicious meal!!

After shopping at Takashimaya in Sakaihigashi Station, I went to KYK for lunch. I was a bit nervous dining alone, but when I arrived, there were three groups of older ladies dining alone, which made me feel relieved. I ordered the lunch set available until 2 pm, which comes with unlimited cabbage, miso soup, and rice refills. It was different from eating a bento box at KYK, and the hot meal was very delicious. The staff kindly offered me refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. Thank you very much. Itadakimasu!

I am "Noronori," who mainly walks around eating lunch in Sakai. I had never been to KYK for tonkatsu, even though it's such a common place. So, I decided to try it out. I ordered the service lunch for 970 yen, which came with shrimp, pork cutlet, minced cutlet, rice, cabbage, and miso soup (with free refills). It was consistently delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to KYK in Takashimaya Sakai Higashi. I had a nostalgic commercial running through my head. I decided to eat tonkatsu for good luck. The tonkatsu had shrimp in it! It was overflowing with juices and delicious. I even had seconds of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. It was a generous serving for only 980 yen. So cheap!

An old man went to a tonkatsu restaurant called KYK in Sakai Higashi. He likes this chain restaurant because back in his college days when he didn't have much money, he would occasionally treat himself to tonkatsu at this KYK restaurant. About once a month, when he had some extra cash, he would indulge in a meal at this place. When you're young, money is tight, right? He probably didn't eat well most of the time. So, about 30 years ago, he would sometimes go to the KYK in Tennoji to enjoy tonkatsu. Recently, he happened to be in Sakai Higashi for some errands. He wandered around the underground shopping area of Takashimaya near the station and stumbled upon KYK. Feeling nostalgic, he decided to stop by. Despite the current situation, the restaurant was quite crowded. He found a seat and glanced at the menu. He ordered the set lunch, which cost 970 yen. It's not cheap for lunch, but he vaguely remembers paying a similar amount 30 years ago. Maybe around 1,000 yen. Thinking about it, Japan's prices haven't really changed much in 30 years. It's not like salaries have increased either. While pondering the state of the country, he enjoyed his tonkatsu set meal. It was delicious. The quality hadn't deteriorated significantly, and the prices hadn't gone up much either. He thought to himself, "Is this country really okay?" Despite his concerns, he realized that he should occasionally spend money at places like this. If you have the chance, you should definitely visit this restaurant too.

Lunch on this day was in Sakai City. We supported a restaurant that is still operating despite the pandemic. My family and I went to a tonkatsu restaurant called "Tonkatsu KYK Takashimaya Sakai Store" located in the underground restaurant area of Takashimaya Sakai. I had the "Domestic Pork Tonkatsu and Shrimp Fry Lunch", while my wife and child had the "Service Lunch" which came with minced tonkatsu, shrimp fry, and tenderloin tonkatsu. In Kansai, when you think of tonkatsu restaurants, you think of "Tonkatsu KYK". It's a very famous restaurant with TV commercials that all Kansai residents know. Just like other tonkatsu restaurants, they offer unlimited cabbage, rice, and miso soup. I prefer to eat tonkatsu and shrimp fry with soy sauce. Although the restaurant didn't have soy sauce on the table, they brought me a cold one when I asked for it. The lunch at KYK was delicious!

On Saturday at noon, I felt like having some fried food, so I headed to the Takashimaya department store in Sakai. I decided to go by car due to the rain, and luckily found a parking spot on a higher level of the parking garage. The restaurant had acrylic dividers for COVID-19 prevention, creating a clean and spacious atmosphere. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal with 200g of meat, which had a nice thickness and came with a generous serving of cabbage, miso soup, and rice. The meat was juicy and flavorful, with a good balance of fat and meat. Overall, it was a delicious and satisfying meal, and I would recommend the Tonkatsu KYK restaurant at Takashimaya Sakai for those looking for a tasty pork cutlet meal.

I went shopping at Takashimaya and had lunch a little early at 11:30. There weren't many customers yet, so I felt comfortable dining alone. There were quite a few elderly customers enjoying their meals. I had shrimp fry and pork cutlet for 970 yen. It came with rice, cabbage, miso soup, and you could get refills. It was delicious and not too greasy.

Lunch special for January in the third year of Reiwa (11:00-15:00): Japanese pork cutlet and shrimp fry lunch set for 970 yen including tax. Unlimited refills of rice, cabbage, and miso soup. The quality at this chain restaurant is impressive. Other lunch menu options include a service lunch for 970 yen, etc.

I went shopping at Sakai Higashiyama department store and decided to have an early lunch before heading home. I was in the mood for tonkatsu, with the KYK TV commercial jingle playing in my head. It was still early, so there weren't many customers in the restaurant. We ordered the following dishes: Kaki Fry and Hire Tonkatsu set for 1,430 yen, and Hand-rolled Ume Shiso Cheese Tonkatsu set for 1,410 yen. I love Kaki Fry, so I chose the combination of Kaki Fry and Hire Tonkatsu, while my wife went for the Cheese hand-rolled Tonkatsu set. The dishes arrived after a while. The tartar sauce for the Kaki Fry was served on top of an oyster shell, adding a unique touch to the crispy Kaki Fry. The Hire Tonkatsu was delicious with the tonkatsu sauce and salt. Despite eating to my heart's content, I didn't feel bloated, probably because they used good quality oil. When offered extra rice and cabbage, I declined as I had other food in mind. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch at the renowned tonkatsu restaurant, KYK. Thank you for the meal!

I had lunch with a colleague near my workplace, and we visited this restaurant at their request. It's a famous tonkatsu restaurant that I remember seeing on TV commercials since I was a child. Although I had been there a few times with my parents when I was young, this was my first visit as an adult. We arrived around 12 o'clock, and the restaurant was almost full. We managed to find a table for four people. Looking at the menu, I noticed that everything was priced at over 1000 yen. I was a bit hesitant about spending that much for lunch, but then I found the lunch specials at the back of the menu. They looked quite appetizing. I ordered the special lunch set, while my companion ordered the Hire Katsu set. Within 5 minutes, our lunches arrived. The set included two pieces of Hire Katsu, one piece of Minced Katsu, and one Ebi Fry. It came with a generous serving of cabbage, tartar sauce, lemon, Gomaae (sesame spinach), pickles, rice, and miso soup. I started with the Hire Katsu, trying it first with a bit of salt and mustard. The flavor of the meat was rich and delicious. It was better than I expected. Then I tried it with the sauce, which was also very tasty. The side dishes like Gomaae and miso soup were also delicious. I finished my rice quickly and asked for a refill. The Minced Katsu was lighter than I thought, but it tasted great with the sauce. Personally, I prefer a richer flavor, but this one was well-balanced and would appeal to many people. The Ebi Fry was served with tartar sauce, and despite being a bit small, it had a crispy coating and juicy shrimp inside. The tartar sauce complemented the sweetness of the shrimp perfectly. My companion was enjoying their meal as well. I wanted to get more rice, but I felt a bit embarrassed in front of my companion, so I refrained. However, I thought that each katsu and fry dish was delicious. The restaurant is located in the basement of Takashimaya Sakai Higashi store, and since it was a weekday, there were mostly women and elderly customers. Although the prices were not too high, they were not cheap either, so I don't think I can visit regularly for lunch. However, I realized the importance of taking the time to enjoy a delicious katsu meal occasionally. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Next to Sakaihigashi Station on the Nankai Koya Line is the department store Takashimaya. The basement floor here is lined with a restaurant district, with over 10 restaurants and cafes offering a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. After finishing a health checkup on an empty stomach, I realized it was almost 4 pm and I had missed out on the lunch specials. However, this restaurant offered a service lunch until 5 pm, so I decided to go in. The interior had a bright and calm atmosphere with only table seating for around 70 people. I ordered the "Service Lunch" (1,020 yen) which came with miso soup that could be changed to tonjiru (large or small) for an additional fee. I opted for the small tonjiru (+210 yen) as well. The food arrived promptly on a tray with a plate of tonkatsu, pickles, potato salad, tonjiru, and rice. The tonkatsu included two pieces of hire (fillet) katsu, an ebi fry, and a black pork mince katsu, with shredded cabbage piled high. The hire katsu had a perfect pink color inside, a crispy coating, and tender meat with a delicate pork flavor. The hire was light in fat content, making it gentle on the stomach. The mince katsu was also crispy and tasted just like the ones you can buy at the shop. The tonkatsu sauce had a fruity tomato base. The ebi fry, though not large, was crispy all the way to the tail and tasted great with tartar sauce and lemon. The tonjiru was hearty with plenty of pork and root vegetables, and the white miso added a rich sweetness. Sprinkling some shichimi togarashi (seven spice blend) enhanced the flavor. Overall, considering the affordable price of the service lunch, there wasn't much to complain about. However, compared to other KYK restaurants that offer a salad bar or a variety of sauce choices, this one seemed to have fewer options. It might be better to dine at a KYK restaurant in their hometown of Abeno, Osaka.

Today I was at Takashimaya and it was lunchtime. I decided to eat at one of the restaurants in the basement. After looking around, I felt like having tonkatsu and chose KYK's tonkatsu. I have been going there often since a long time ago, and I always used to get extra cabbage and rice! In my younger days, I would get multiple rice refills without the staff making a fuss, which I remember fondly. This time, I chose the lunch set with a combination of shrimp fry and pork loin tonkatsu. As always, it was crispy and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

At "KYK" in Sakai, try the tonkatsu! Osaka Sakai Tonkatsu uses black pork, Kagoshima black pork, and Kagoshima black pork loin for their tonkatsu. They also serve tonkatsu with pork miso soup. Tonkatsu at KYK!
