In Fukuoka at night, I struggled to find a late-night restaurant, but eventually stumbled upon a yakitori place that also offers a wide variety of fish dishes. The appetizer consisted of four different types for our group of four, which was quite interesting. The popular tsubugai (whelk) dish was a challenge to eat but worth it. Each of us ordered our favorite items, and I chose chicken liver (155 yen) and chicken heart (145 yen) yakitori. The Fukuoka specialty, Goma Saba (mackerel with sesame seeds) for 750 yen, was covered in ground sesame seeds, which was a unique touch. The sake selection was extensive and reasonably priced, with a glass of Juyondai priced at 650 yen. I might come back to Fukuoka again, so I'll remember this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

A friend told me about a shop that stays open until morning at Hakata Station. It's located off the main street of Hakata, hidden in a residential area. The inside of the shop is filled with autographs of famous people. Surprisingly, the shop was bustling with customers, despite being nestled in a residential area. We started with a toast with lemon sour. The drink selection was abundant, especially the variety of sake such as 14th generation, Tanaka, Shinsei, and Joko. They also had rare Japanese whiskies like Hakushu, Yamazaki, Hibiki, and Miyagikyo, which was quite surprising for a late-night shop. We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks. The appetizers were served individually, and we chose the tsubugai without hesitation. The menu ranged from sashimi to rare chicken parts, offering a wide variety of dishes. The standout dishes were the sweet sesame mackerel and the unmistakable clam sashimi. The liver had a strong liver taste rather than a smooth texture. The shiitake mushrooms were a bit too dry due to excessive grilling. The skin was delicious, the pickled wasabi was spot on, and the grilled nagaimo was like okonomiyaki, which was delicious. It's rare to find a shop with such a repertoire of food and drinks late at night, so personally, I was satisfied! I definitely want to come back here when I want to drink until morning! Thank you for the meal.

Today, I was invited to go out for drinks by some business acquaintances, and they brought me to this restaurant. There were three of us, so we sat at a table, while a group in the back room was having a party. Seeing the group enjoying their drinks made me feel like the end of Corona is getting closer. The yakitori dishes were delicious with large and tasty skewers. Since this was a drinking session with business acquaintances, I only took one photo. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant with a senior colleague from work! It was conveniently located near Hakata Station. We ordered motsunabe (offal hot pot) and sashimi, and the taste exceeded our expectations. To be honest, I didn't think it would be this delicious. I think the quality is high. I am satisfied with the wide selection of Japanese sake. It is very convenient as they are open late at night.

Today, I was entertaining business travelers from Tokyo, Osaka, and Kumamoto. While the Tokyo traveler was staying overnight, the other two were taking the Shinkansen back, but they decided to stop by here for a quick drink. Although we had made a reservation, the place was almost full of people enjoying themselves. We toasted with highballs and draft beer! The recommended sashimi was not a mixed plate, but rather sesame mackerel and octopus sashimi, two servings each. The sesame mackerel was fresh and incredibly delicious! We switched to Akauta, a red wine that someone had reserved. Since there weren't any younger staff members looking after us, we all ended up drinking from beer mugs. I also enjoyed my favorite fluffy sweet potato tempura, along with pork belly, skin sauce, liver, and shishamo skewers. There are some items I didn't take photos of, like the tomato slices. I think this place is great for both sashimi and skewers. It's perfect for a quick drink and meal. Thank you for the delicious meal!

We had a pre-meeting party with colleagues from Tokyo, Osaka, and Hiroshima the night before our meeting. We sat at tables and sunken kotatsu-style seats, and enjoyed a variety of fresh sashimi and delicious yakitori. The yakitori included pork belly, chicken skin (salted), liver, meatballs, shiitake mushrooms, quail eggs, all cooked to perfection. The tempura sweet potato was also light and tasty as always. This yakitori restaurant near Hakata Station is convenient for a quick drink. Thank you for the meal! PS Regarding the lost commuter pass, I received a call from an unknown number before the toast, and it turned out that the pass had been found and returned to the police station. Thank you for your concern! It's good to know there are still kind people out there in Japan!

As the end of the year approaches, work stress is piling up, but we managed to tackle it day by day. Despite the ongoing state of emergency, I decided to go out for some yakitori and drinks with a few colleagues over the weekend. We made a reservation for four, and were seated in a cozy private area at the back of the restaurant. It wasn't as bustling as it used to be, but we enjoyed dishes like octopus sashimi, sesame mackerel, and chicken skewers. We even tried some pork belly skewers, which were delicious. We also had the usual sweet potato tempura, which seemed to have improved since the last time. The yakitori was consistently tasty, and we ended the meal with some potato fries and stingray fin skewers. It was a fun and healthy drinking session, and we were able to head home by 9pm. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I returned to the office in the evening via Shin-Yatsushiro from Miyazaki and quickly processed the piled-up work. Tomorrow I have a tour in Yamaga in the morning, so I was trying to leave early when a colleague sent me a signal from afar... They said that a client from ○ッシー who is back in Hakata after a long time invited me to drink with ○Muray. Being weak-willed and unable to refuse invitations, I agreed with a quick yes. My colleague and I arrived first, and the two of them came separately a little later. We ordered some yakitori as usual and also my favorite freshly fried satsuma-age! Oh, and some shirako ponzu too, please! For drinks, I started with a highball and then switched to Akatora (blue label) at 20 degrees almost on the rocks! Cheers! I may have had too much to drink even though tomorrow is a chicken tour too! I have some cheese manju as a souvenir, so I'll stop by Okkasan's place on the way home. Well, thank you for the meal!

Fukuoka's state of emergency has been lifted, and alcohol service at restaurants has resumed. Excited about this, we decided to visit a restaurant on the first day back. It had been two months since our last visit, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The restaurant was full, and those without reservations were being turned away. We enjoyed cold beer and ordered a variety of yakitori, including pork belly, chicken gizzard, chicken thigh, tsukune, and chicken skin. We also had highballs and switched to Red Horse Blue 20°. The food was delicious, especially the freshly grilled yakitori. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable experience. We hope that the economy will continue to recover gradually despite the ongoing restrictions.

We had a meeting with some colleagues that took almost half a day, so we decided to have a small gathering before the alcohol ban was enforced. We ordered a platter of fresh sashimi, which was delicious. The sweet potato tempura, which has become a recent favorite of mine, was also as tasty as ever. We toasted with Red Uma Blue, a 20% alcohol drink that can be enjoyed on the rocks, but we added a bit of water to play it safe. We also enjoyed various types of yakitori, such as miso pork belly and chicken tenderloin, which were all consistently delicious. The yakitori, freshly grilled at the restaurant, was especially tasty. It seemed like everyone found shochu easy to drink, as we ended up consuming about one and a half liters of it at a high pace. It felt like we were stocking up on drinks before the alcohol ban was enforced! Overall, it was a fun and delicious meal.

Before, we used to go to this yakitori restaurant once a month with colleagues and business partners, but due to self-restraint in business activities, it had been almost 3 months since our last visit. We went there to bid farewell to a young colleague who was transferring to his hometown of Nagasaki. It was the end of June, and alcohol service was until 7 pm with business hours until 8 pm. We started at 6 pm on a weekday, but it was fully booked with reservations. A group of young ladies without reservations were turned away. We sat in groups of three, separated by partitions, and started our meal. After toasting with a drink, we ordered a sashimi platter and our favorite yakitori. The yakitori in Fukuoka is really delicious! My recommendation here is the yam-filled (probably) satsuma-age! It's fluffy, sweet, and tasty with ginger soy sauce. I switched from highball to Tanaka-san and then to Akautsuka to keep the drinks flowing. It was a short but intense drinking session (laughs). The yakitori was consistently delicious, and the sashimi was fresh and tasty! I hope that we can return to unrestricted drinking days by July 11th. Well, thank you for the meal!

Recently, An-san has become my go-to place for yakitori! On this day, I went with my new colleagues to welcome them to the workplace. We enjoyed Akashi Highball, Chita High, and draft beer with a cheers. We ordered a variety of dishes and yakitori, including sashimi assortment, satsuma-age, pork belly, miso-marinated pork belly, chicken skin, gizzard, cartilage, and shiitake mushrooms. The grilling was done perfectly, and the freshly grilled yakitori was delicious! The satsuma-age with yam was also very tasty! We also enjoyed New Shuho No. 6 and Red Tohma while chatting. It was about a 2-hour meal, but I realized I was quite drunk towards the end! Although there was a period when the number of customers decreased, it seems to have picked up after the lifting of restrictions. It was so popular that we couldn't even make a reservation the day before. An-san has become a popular spot again!

Recently, I have been visiting this yakitori restaurant more frequently. On this day, we had a gathering with 4 people to celebrate the recovery of a business partner and bid farewell to someone who was being transferred to Kanto. We ordered a sashimi platter with 6 varieties (4 pieces each). The yakitori here is delicious, but the sashimi is also fresh and tasty! We had pork belly, miso-marinated pork belly, chicken skin with sauce, and tsukune with egg on top. All of them were cooked perfectly and went well with our drinks. We enjoyed sake from Tanaka Rokujugo and then switched to Akatora mixed with water. Since it was during the period of shortened business hours after the lifting of the state of emergency, we had to finish our alcohol by 8:30 pm and aimed to leave by 9 pm. Since we didn't have plans for a second location, we ended up drinking at a fast pace! Personally, I was quite full from the yakitori, but we added chicken wing gyoza, chicken nanban, and French fries! The person who was being transferred said he was 38 years old, but he seemed to have quite the appetite! When we left the restaurant, it was clear that he was quite drunk. I didn't realize that even with the one-hour extension for the shortened business hours, he would get so drunk! Well, thank you for the meal!

After work, I declared to my colleagues that we would have a light drink together before the curfew was lifted, so the three of us stopped by. I have been using this place quite frequently lately and they have a few bottles of Akatora's 1-sho sake reserved, so we drank until close to 8pm. Is this okay? The alcohol service ends at 7pm, but can we drink the reserved sake until 8pm? By the way, on this day, the last order for food and drinks was at 7pm, but we continued drinking until close to 8pm haha. We ordered a sashimi platter for 800 yen (per person), and since the waiter suggested it for three people, they made it into a 1.5 serving with one piece each for us. The sashimi was all fresh and top quality! As for the yakitori, we had the usual pork belly, miso-marinated pork belly, chicken liver, salted tsukune, negima, and quail eggs. All of them were consistently delicious and went well with sweet potato shochu. I also added my favorite satsuma-age, and the waiter who ordered potato fries said... Potato fries are high in calories and dangerous, you know~(-_-;) They should be on the list of things dieters shouldn't eat at izakayas! But they are so tasty that I can't resist eating them! Alright! Thank you for the meal~(^^♪

I had been craving yakitori since the day before, and my colleague sent me a message asking if I wanted to go to a yakitori restaurant. Despite the current situation, we decided to support a yakitori place that we are grateful for, so the three of us dashed to the restaurant at 5:30 PM. When we entered, there were hardly any customers. We were told we could sit anywhere, so we secured a table at the back. We started with draft beer and shochu highball. I wasn't in the mood for sashimi, so I only ordered sesame mackerel. It was delicious! For yakitori, we ordered miso pork belly, chicken cartilage, chicken skin with salt, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, and liver, three skewers each. They were all delicious, but I especially love the miso pork belly here. For snacks, we had sweet potato tempura with yam and corn tempura, which were both tasty. The alcohol selection was limited, so I ended up with Echigo sake and Akatombo shochu. Time flew by, and we had to leave by 7 PM due to the restrictions. It's tough for restaurants with limited hours and restrictions, so let's support them as much as we can, including takeout options.

On this day, after work, I decided to stop by a familiar izakaya called Ioi for some yakitori. It was the day before the emergency declaration was issued in Fukuoka, but I had a bit of work-related discussion to attend to, so it was a good excuse to go. I was feeling thirsty, so I started with a glass of draft beer, while my colleague opted for Chita Highball. We ordered a variety of yakitori, and I couldn't resist ordering the shirako with ponzu sauce. The shirako paired perfectly with the ponzu sake that we ordered. It was incredibly delicious! The yakitori, including pork belly, liver, and chicken skin, were all tasty, but the pork belly was my favorite. The fatty pork belly was sweet and delicious. I switched to a stronger watered-down Akautsuki (purple label) sake. It was smooth and went down easily. We also ordered some satsuma-age, which had a fluffy texture due to the addition of yam. It was different from the usual satsuma-age and I really enjoyed it. We ended up ordering some potato salad and stingray fin as well, and before we knew it, it was time to leave. Overall, it was a great night out with this group of friends.

This is a yakitori restaurant located just a short walk from Hakata Station. I happened to find it when I was looking for a place to eat late at night. I'm not sure about their current operating hours due to the current situation, but back then, they were open until around 5 am. It may be a bit hard to find as it's not facing the main street. I usually go there late at night and order items a la carte. They have a wide variety of drinks, so you can enjoy yourself without getting bored even if you stay for a long time. The quality of the food here is really high! While the yakitori is delicious as expected, the side dishes are also plentiful and tasty. In the photos are: Mochi tofu, Grilled rice ball topped with sea urchin and salmon roe, and Seafood chawanmushi. The mochi tofu is made in-house and is said to be the most tender and delicious right after they open. Although not shown in the photos, the deep-fried mochi tofu in dashi broth is a must-try! The yakitori is reasonably priced, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, making it easy to eat many skewers. I highly recommend the miso pork belly, heart, and vegetable rolls! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm, and the chef is friendly, making it a place that is easy to visit.

The large black banquet at the big venue that used to be bustling has disappeared, and it's uncertain when it will resume. The company policy now allows gatherings of up to 9 people for a maximum of 2 hours at restaurants that are taking proper COVID-19 precautions. However, after-party gatherings are not allowed. We were finally able to schedule a meal with 4 people at a restaurant that we had been postponing due to the pandemic. We toasted with beer and shochu, wondering when our pre-COVID daily life will return. The sashimi here is not only delicious, but also fresh - featuring sea bream, octopus, yellowtail, striped jack, scallops, and sesame mackerel, unique to Hakata. We enjoyed a bottle of Akatora Masamune shochu with soda, and the yakitori was perfectly cooked, especially the miso pork belly. Although the chicken skin and liver were tasty, we were more focused on drinking that day. We ended up drinking too much... We'll definitely come back again!

After work, I like to have a drink, and this is my second time at this place in July. My current workplace has been affected by the new coronavirus, so we have a lot of meetings and discussions, but let's have a light drink with some passionate colleagues. The location is near Hakata Station, so transportation is not a problem no matter where you are heading. Let's talk passionately about the future direction in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic over some drinks! The sashimi here includes sea bream, striped jack, octopus, scallops, and sesame mackerel, and despite being a yakitori restaurant, they are confident in the freshness of their ingredients. You can't go wrong with any of them! I recommend the Akautsuka Murasaki red wine. The yakitori is also excellent, but the miso pork belly and rare chicken liver are especially recommended. Well, everything is delicious here! We stayed for about two hours this day. Let's go home quietly without going to the snack bar!

The company policy allows for small gatherings of less than 10 people with strict COVID-19 measures in place, so we had a mini welcome party with 6 people. We toasted with champagne and beer, enjoyed a sashimi platter with Thai, Amberjack, Striped Jack, and Scallop, all fresh and delicious. We switched to a colleague's bottle of Red Rabbit wine and enjoyed grilled dishes like miso pork belly, chicken meatballs, liver, and pork belly. The conversation led to ordering Chicken Nanban, which was also tasty with a good tartar sauce. All the dishes were excellent and reasonably priced. This place is perfect for gatherings with friends, just be careful not to get too loud!
