I felt like exploring Miyajima after a long time, so I decided to visit a shop that I had been curious about. The entrance door was dramatically heavy and hard to open, so I hope they improve that. They say the "divine foam" is delicious, so cheers with the divine foam! When making a toast, the staff will give you a shoutout. The yakitori and other dishes were all delicious and went well with the drinks. In particular, the tofu fried in the fryer was light and tasty, and the clam soy sauce served with the fried tofu was sweet and delicious. They also have ramen, so I want to try that next time. Thank you for the meal!

The lunch business hours seem to be irregular, but on this day, I luckily found a vacant seat and decided to go in. The interior of the restaurant had been renovated, with half of the counter seats turned into table seats. There were three of us, and we all ordered the Shoyu Ramen for 900 yen each. The ramen had a light and refreshing taste, made with dashi stock from Kyoto and whole wheat noodles imported from Saitama. The soft-boiled egg was a nice touch, adding a creamy texture to the dish. The clear chicken soy sauce-based soup paired well with the hearty noodles, leaving us feeling quite full. My coworker even added extra rice, but it was quite a challenge for him to finish everything. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I visited the "Honki no Beer to. Shokudou Itadaki-san" in Minoshima area, which I had been curious about and really liked. I went without a reservation but luckily got a table at the right time. I ordered the "Zenbu Nose! Chuka Soba, Buta Bara, Shio Tsukune, Tare Tsukune, Tebasaki, Gyusujiniku Tofu, Hiyashi Pironpou." I was interested in the Chuka Soba, so I ordered it with all the toppings! It is made with carefully selected dashi from Kyoto and the noodles are made with whole wheat flour sourced from Saitama, creating a flavorful Chuka Soba. It was light and delicious! The Buta Bara was different from the Kyushu Buta Bara I usually eat, with a special sauce that made it really tasty! The restaurant is run by a very friendly couple, and it was a lovely place with a cozy atmosphere, enjoyable conversations, and a fun time! Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch plans fell through a few times, and I almost became a refugee before finally stumbling upon this place. It's been a while since I've been here, as they seem to have inconsistent lunch hours. The sign at the entrance on the left still reads "Noodles and Grilled Chicken Summit," but on the right, there's a new unfamiliar sign that says "Serious Beer and Dining Summit." It's unclear which one is the current name! In fact, when I checked just now, the registered name on Tabelog has changed to the one on the right! I was hoping that since they now call themselves a dining establishment, the menu might have expanded, but it's exactly the same as before! A bit disappointed, I ordered the "All Toppings Deluxe Hanten Men" for 900 yen. Last time, I had the Special Hanten Men with pickled plum for 1,000 yen, so I was hoping there would still be pickled plum! The dish arrived in about 5-6 minutes, and I dug in. The soup is a soy sauce-based broth made with dried sardines sourced from Kyoto, and the noodles are a whole wheat variety from Saitama. The first sip of the soup seemed quite light, but as I continued eating, the flavors of the dried sardines and chicken fat came through, adding depth and umami. The noodles were firm and had a good bite due to being made with extra water. The chashu was flavorful, and the seasoned egg added a nice touch. By the time I finished, I was pleasantly full. It's my first revisit since I visited right after the opening in December last year. It seems like they were closed during the state of emergency, but now they are back to normal business hours (serving yakitori at night). This time, they have four different types of ramen with different toppings, and I ordered the most expensive one, the Special Ramen for 950 yen. I'm not sure what makes it special or elegant though. It took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served. Compared to my colleague's 700 yen ramen, mine had the same chashu and menma but also included 3 sheets of seaweed, a seasoned egg, and a pickled plum. The price difference of 250 yen seems reasonable! The soup has a strong dried fish flavor with a soy sauce base, just like last time. The noodles are medium thickness and cooked al dente, with whole wheat flour from Saitama. The chashu is thick and tender, cooked to perfection. The seaweed adds a nice ocean flavor when mixed with the noodles. The pickled plum is quite large and has a good balance of softness and acidity, although I personally could do without it. Overall, I felt that the ramen has improved since my last visit. If you're in the mood for ramen once in a while, this place is worth a try.

My wife and I went together, but when I tried to open the entrance door, it was closed, so we turned back to go somewhere else, and then the owner opened it from inside and welcomed us. Oh! The door wasn't closed, it just seemed heavy (laughs). Anyway, we ordered and ate the Chinese noodles. It felt a bit incomplete, but it's not expensive, so if you're curious, please try going there. There's a lot of noodles (sweat). It might get boring. Thank you for the meal.

The shop name seems to have changed from Yaki Tori Itadaki-san to Men to Ikiru. I went to this shop that opened in December last year on Minoshima, where they serve ramen during the day and yakitori at night! The light and refreshing Chinese soba noodles were delicious! The more you eat, the more you can taste the rich flavor of the soup. The soft-boiled egg was well marinated.

I was a little curious about this shop. Please note that it opens at 12:00. Basically, they only serve Chinese noodles and rice. The Chinese noodles that appeared had a nice visual. The soup is made with dashi from Kyoto without using tare. The soup is rich in chicken oil and has a deep flavor with a unique aroma. The noodles are made with whole wheat flour and have a crunchy texture. Personally, it's not exactly my preference, but you can see that they can provide high-quality ramen even though they are not a specialty shop.

Minojima "Noodle and Grilled Chicken Top San" - Enjoying Oden and Skewers At "Noodle and Grilled Chicken Top San" in Minojima, a cozy bar with a U-shaped counter, I enjoyed a refreshing draft beer and some delicious dishes. The atmosphere was nice, and there was no cover charge, which was a plus. I started with some oden - satsuma age (100 yen) and daikon radish (150 yen), both made with the same broth used in their ramen, which they import from Kyoto. The broth was so tasty that I ended up drinking it all from the small bowl. For skewers, I tried the chicken breast with wasabi (180 yen) and the homemade tsukune with egg yolk (180 yen). I always struggle with the leftover egg yolk when eating the tsukune, but it's a delicious dish nonetheless. I also had some chicken wings (200 yen) and a highball for my second drink. The quality of the skewers was impressive, and it was a great place for a casual drink and snack. The total bill came to 1,760 yen, which was a good value for the quality of food and drinks. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. I resumed my training in Chuka soba (Chinese noodles) - this time, I visited Fumitop-san! I ordered the Chuka soba for 650 yen and the female staff member was very friendly. The soup was flavorful and you could taste the bonito flakes. However, I got a little tired of it towards the end. The noodles seemed to be a special feature, but the portion was quite large. Overall, I think one bowl of Chuka soba is enough to fill you up. Thank you for the meal!

The broth is sourced from Kyoto and the noodles are from Saitama, showing their attention to detail. They mentioned it's a fulfilling meal, so I asked and found out it comes with 150g of noodles. The Light Chinese Soba arrived, featuring simple toppings like chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots. The soup from Kyoto had a rich flavor with a nice kick from the chili oil, enhancing the umami taste. The medium-thin straight noodles were smooth and had a good texture, complementing the soup well. With 150g of noodles, it was a satisfying portion that left me feeling full. I enjoyed every last drop of the soup, making it a very satisfying meal. I visited on December 14th, but they were only starting lunch service the next day. The seating was at a counter with seats spaced apart due to COVID-19 measures. The menu offered only Chinese noodles, with the option to add a boiled egg. The young couple running the place were efficient, with the husband in the kitchen and the wife handling service. The Chinese noodles had a soy sauce base with a rich bonito flavor. The noodles were slightly thick and had a good texture. The boiled egg was flavorful, but the portion of char siu was small, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the meal was well-prepared, but it could use a bit more impact.
