Accommodation plan with breakfast included, using local ingredients for the buffet. The menu is also varied. - Of course, the Takikawa Jingisukan & Aigamo Udon was great. Personally, I liked the soba noodles. - The Akadama Egg from Kamikawa had an orange yolk. - Nagaimo, probably from Fukagawa? - The milk from Biei was delicious!

Since leaving Sapporo in June 2023, I have been in Takikawa City. I am a middle-aged man on a journey with a broken kite string, taking it easy on work. After staying one night in Sapporo, I visited Utashinai City, where I stayed until the elementary school entrance ceremony, and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery for a day, bringing back distant memories. The road from Takikawa City to Utashinai City was scary, so I returned to Takikawa City via Sapporo, staying there for one night. It has a local feel and serves as a meeting place for local rotary clubs and lions clubs. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, including miso ramen and duck udon, which I appreciated. I was happy to see raw eggs available. The soft-boiled eggs were delicious! Thank you for the meal. I had breakfast with two elderly ladies, slowly drinking coffee together. When we left for Nakagawa Town by rental car, the lions club member who had become friendly with the two elderly ladies saw us off. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Take care, everyone.

In late March, while cherry blossoms were blooming in the west, I was surprised to find heavy snow in Hokkaido. After transferring flights and driving from New Chitose to Takikawa, I was exhausted from business meetings and surveys. I had made a reservation at a hotel, and upon returning after dinner, I noticed various exhibits inside the hotel. It seems to have a prestigious history with local dignitaries having stayed, including the Empress when she was single. Just seeing these exhibits added value to my stay. The room was not luxurious but had a relaxing atmosphere, which was very nice. Breakfast was a buffet with a well-maintained garden outside, adding to the charm of the snowy landscape. The variety of dishes was plentiful and delicious. Promoting more local cuisine would enhance the experience even further. Despite being in the countryside, it was a very satisfying hotel stay.

In August 2019, I stayed at Miura Hanaen, a hotel established in the 21st year of the Meiji era. The hotel may be old, but the rooms were clean as they were renovated last year. For breakfast the next morning, I went to Il Cielo, an Italian restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. The restaurant overlooks a beautiful garden and serves a variety of dishes for breakfast, such as Genghis Khan, Miura Hanaen's famous duck soba, Takikawa's rice "Nanatsuboshi", Hokkaido's sticky yam, curry, and more. The Genghis Khan was tender and delicious, and the duck soba had a great broth. I was pleased with the selection of dressings and jams, including tomato dressing and jams from Furano and "Kyou Jam" from a jam specialty store that opened in Takikawa in February. The haskap jam from "Kyou Jam" was particularly delicious. They even provided paper cups for taking coffee back to the room. Thank you for the hospitality.

I stayed at this hotel. I will leave the hotel facilities to another site. Breakfast was buffet style, with unique dishes such as Takikawa's Genghis Khan, duck soba, and soups from the Sorachi region. The regional flavors were strong and satisfying. It would have been better if the simmered dish was a little warmer, but that was the only complaint.

I used the breakfast buffet. There were delicious rice, Genghis Khan, duck soba, and I was satisfied. The overnight fee was in the 4000 yen range, on the first day of a three-day weekend. It was delicious food. I will definitely stay here again when I come to Akabira!

I stayed overnight on a business trip. It was neither good nor bad. The breakfast venue was quite far from the entrance.

Accommodation in Takikawa is at Miura Kaen. When it comes to hotels in Takikawa, there is also Sue**ro. These two are the major hotels in Takikawa. The breakfast at Miura Kaen is not famous, but it's quite good. The hotel is old and the rooms are not great, but the breakfast is amazing! It's much better than the breakfast buffet at a mediocre hotel. They have Takikawa's specialty Genghis Khan, and you can also try soba made with duck meat! Although this time there wasn't enough duck in the soba sauce...someone must have taken a lot of it...come on, duck! And the local rice is delicious too. I think it was Shirohan rice...? The balance of side dishes they offer is good, and you can eat breakfast on a table on tatami mats, taking off your shoes, which is calming and nice. If you ever stay in Takikawa, be sure to enjoy this breakfast. Thank you for the meal!

The exterior of the hotel may be large, but once you enter the lobby and reach the front desk, you will find a lobby similar to a city hotel in Tokyo. The interior of the hotel is spacious and pleasant. After getting off the elevator, I followed the sign to the breakfast venue and walked through a corridor with the atmosphere of a traditional ryokan for about 100 meters. The venue had tatami flooring with about 20 tables for four people each. Around 8:00, there were about four groups of six people enjoying their meal. I grabbed a seat at the furthest table from the entrance to secure a spot, and then it was time to face the food. There were plates available at the entrance, and it was a self-service setup (laughs). As I moved to the left, I found about six Japanese dishes, including marinated salmon. A notable feature was that both fish fillets were grilled. Following that, there was a hot plate with "Genghis Khan stir-fry," crispy bacon, sausages, and scrambled eggs, which are Western food staples. After that, there was rice, curry, and southern-style soba, followed by salad and fruits. The last section was the drink corner located near the window. The standout was the delicious milk. The coffee was also a calming and mellow flavor. You can also take the coffee to go. If I hadn't been noisy until morning, I would have wanted to enjoy the breakfast more thoroughly this morning.

It was my first time experiencing a breakfast buffet where you can take off your shoes. It was very convenient with kids and relaxing since there were chairs and tables instead of cushions. In Takikawa, it seems like duck soba and Genghis Khan are popular. It was my first time having Genghis Khan for breakfast (lol). The duck soba was a bit disappointing as the duck flavor was faint, but as recommended, it was delicious with curry. They also had tasty fried oysters and a variety of Japanese side dishes, so it was quite satisfying.

I reserved this hotel to attend a meeting. When making the reservation, I found out that they offer a breakfast buffet where you can enjoy duck soba and Genghis Khan. I was looking forward to it so I stayed here. Now, it's time for breakfast. The place was a bit fancy like a Japanese restaurant. The food provided was mostly what you would expect from a regular hotel breakfast buffet. I was excited for the duck soba, but although the broth had the flavor of duck, I couldn't find any meat in it. I didn't expect to eat Genghis Khan in the morning, but the way it was served was different from what people in Hokkaido would imagine. The curry was surprisingly delicious, so I ended up getting seconds.

I had a job in Takikawa and was invited by my colleagues to go. The dining place was on the 3rd floor of a hotel. We were guided to a small room exuding a sense of luxury. I was worried it might be expensive, but it was actually very reasonable. They use Takikawa-produced duck, SPF pork, and rice. I felt like supporting them. The food wasn't amazingly delicious, but it was definitely tasty. The portions were generous, and I left feeling full. Takikawa is famous for Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), but it's nice to have a different kind of meal once in a while. By the way, they served "shishamo from Mukawa" for breakfast, and it was incredibly delicious. The room was old, but the breakfast was fantastic.

The daily lunch delivery that I have been enjoying for a while is delicious, satisfying, and with great portion sizes. The Chinese takeout that started during the pandemic also brings a lot of satisfaction! The portions are incredible! The dishes taste just like when you eat at the restaurant, with the same amount and flavor. The fried rice with thick sauce and yakisoba are especially great because the sauce is served separately, which is convenient. Just one dish can make you very full. The shumai is big with lots of filling, and the shrimp mayo has plenty of shrimp. Both the shredded pork with green peppers and sweet and sour pork are delicious and filling. I was disappointed that the spring rolls were sold out and I couldn't order them! They must have had crispy skin and lots of filling. I forgot to include two types of salad, but when I called, they delivered it right away. The service is hotel-level, so it's polite and friendly. Eating at home may make the dishes taste saltier, especially if you are used to eating low-salt meals. Make sure to have plenty of drinks on hand. This is perfect when you're craving strong flavors. I recommend sharing this authentic Chinese cuisine from the hotel with a large group! Highly recommended!
