After a 5-year absence, I stayed at the ANA Hotel in Fukuoka/Hakata for the first time. This year has been challenging due to the pandemic, and when traveling or on business trips, I registered for the ING Membership when staying in Hiroshima and Osaka. Considering various factors, including the fact that my work the next morning started at Hakata Station, I decided to book this hotel. The overall atmosphere and service were somewhat consistent. I booked a twin room with breakfast included, and although the price was initially around 11,000 yen when I booked two months ago, I later received a discount of over 3,000 yen due to the national travel support program, making the final cost in the 7,000 yen range. Additionally, I received 3,000 yen worth of coupon vouchers for use in Fukuoka, making it an unexpectedly affordable stay. When I mentioned my membership at check-in, I was given two bottles of water, one of which was the famous "Takara" mineral water. It was a pleasant surprise as I am familiar with this water from Kagoshima. Ultimately, thanks to the travel support program, I ended up staying for around 4,000 yen. While the location requires a bit of walking from Hakata Station, it is convenient for exploring the area. Although I usually stay in Nakasu or Tenjin when in Fukuoka, I found Hakata to be quite comfortable. If you plan to use the subway for transportation, I recommend getting a "one-day pass" for convenience.

Thanks to the influence of the World Swimming Championships, I couldn't book a hotel for my entire stay during my trip to Fukuoka, so my accommodation was changed to ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel. Since it's a high-quality hotel, I had high expectations for breakfast. The buffet had a good variety of items, and they even had a service where the kitchen staff would make omelets on the spot. They would also make toppings like cheese, ham, and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) based on your request. The fluffy omelet was delicious. What caught my eye was the Kyushu specialties corner. As a tourist, this was the most appreciated part. Of course, they had ramen, but I decided to have motsunabe (offal hot pot), pickled vegetables, spicy mentaiko, and chicken nanban. It was a satisfying breakfast. It was a great way to start the day on a high note. Thank you for the meal!

A business trip to Hakata is always exciting because you can enjoy delicious food. However, this time I was busy with work and ended up having meals only at the hotel. I stayed at this hotel and had the morning buffet, which is normally priced at 3000 yen. The selection was well-balanced with local specialties such as mentaiko, chicken nanban, and sumotsu. I didn't have any complaints and enjoyed the food. I also tried the morning curry, which was mild and suitable for children. Thank you for the meal.

I had my first meal at ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel during a work dinner party☆ We had a course meal and the dessert was served buffet style at the end (^^) The lighting makes the colors in the photo look different, but the presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious! Personally, I found the lobster and the poêlé more delicious than the meat dishes♡

It's been years since we had a black-tie banquet in a hotel ballroom! Due to the pandemic, we've been refraining from such gatherings for the past few years, but we finally had one again! It was the first time in four years that the organization's general meeting for company alumni was held, and I joined in from the social gathering. I missed the general meeting, but since I recently joined the organization, I was apparently introduced during the meeting. There were about 60 people in attendance, with some elderly members in their 80s looking lively and giving off a positive vibe. It seems that having hobbies in your retirement years is the key to staying youthful! Losing hair may be inevitable, but the food served was fancy Western cuisine with safe flavors that went well with the drinks. I had overindulged in drinking the day before in Kokura, so I stuck to highballs and kept it moderate this time. I poured drinks for the senior members and greeted them. Everyone seems to have aged, but I hope they stay healthy and lively forever!

I used the lounge for a late lunch. The panini and drink were great, as expected from ANA Hotel - excellent service and atmosphere. It's a hotel lounge, but I think it's easy to use casually. There seemed to be many reserved seats, so you might not be able to get in at a bad time. I will use it again when I want to relax.

The steak was all-you-can-eat and served fresh. The sauces available were barbecue and Japanese-style. Drinks included juice, water, and coffee. I would have been happy if they had oolong tea. Initially, there were financiers for dessert, but by the time I went to get one, they were already gone and not replenished. It seemed better to grab what you definitely want early on. Once the bread was gone, it wasn't restocked, so the variety decreased rapidly. The discount through Instagram follow was a nice touch at 2500 yen.

Strawberry Buffet 4800 yen
The neatly arranged display is so cute and exciting! Since there are many sponge and whipped cream-based desserts, I gave up on trying everything and just picked out the ones that caught my eye. Personally, I liked the following 6 items:
- The drink in the milk bottle was just the right sweetness and I could drink it all up! I went for seconds.
- Mille-feuille: The crispy pastry with the sourness of the strawberries and the sweetness of the cream was excellent.
- Pistachio shortcake: Honestly, it was too sweet to finish, but the classic combination of pistachio and strawberries was delicious.
- Pudding: Smooth pudding and delicious.
- Salad: The finely chopped vegetables provided a fun texture, and the slightly tangy dressing was refreshing and a nice break. The occasional addition of mozzarella was a nice touch.
- Sandwich: The combination of smoked salmon and strawberries is unusual but surprisingly tasty.
The macarons were quite popular, so they were already gone by the time I went around once, but they brought more out later, so I was relieved that I didn't have to settle for ones I didn't like.
Overall, I was satisfied with the experience considering the price.

Last night I ate well, and the morning at the hotel started with a buffet breakfast. I went to the Crown Cafe on the first floor with my breakfast ticket. It is located immediately to the left as you get off the elevator, with a bright and clean feeling due to the glass walls. I was seated by the window. I started with orange juice and water, then had a variety of egg dishes - omelets, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, poached eggs, and egg rolls. I finished with bacon, sausages, mentaiko, and satsuma-age. I don't usually have rice or bread for breakfast at hotels. After eating, I had some fruits and coffee. Today in Fukuoka, with no plans, I enjoyed my meal leisurely. Although the cafe is spacious, it was almost full, indicating many guests were staying. After eating, instead of going straight back to my room, I went for a walk to Sumiyoshi Shrine, about 300 meters away. It seemed like they also had a sumo stable there. It was a large and impressive shrine. I thought this hotel had a good location near Hakata Station. Thank you for the meal.

This Kyushu trip, the main purpose is to meet my grandchild. Here in Fukuoka Hakata, we will stay for 2 nights in a twin room that I have reserved. The room is spacious and more relaxing than the business hotels I usually stay in. As I stepped out of the hotel entrance, there were people from Goto promoting NHK drama "Maiagare" and selling Goto's famous products. I received sweet potato shochu and barley shochu as a nightcap. I won't be able to finish them today and tomorrow, so I plan to take them to the next ryokan we will be staying at. I am looking forward to enjoying the final day of the Kyushu basho in Hakata while watching it on TV.

Crown Plaza Hotel Fukuoka, which is a popular accommodation in Fukuoka. The tea bags provided in the guest rooms include roasted green tea for night use and mint green tea for morning use, which are the same throughout the country. The green tea has a light flavor and looks like colored water. On the other hand, the hotel's original tea bags feature Yame green tea, which has a strong and authentic green tea flavor, representing Fukuoka well.

Enjoyed a buffet lunch with sparkling wine included at Crown Cafe in ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel in front of Hakata Station. The imported meat was a bit tough, but when freshly grilled, it was edible. The other buffet dishes were of high quality and I left feeling satisfied. The service was top-notch, with plates being quickly replaced.

Located just a short walk from Hakata Station on the Sumiyoshi-dori side, this hotel has a long history but is currently operated by IHG. Guests staying on the 14th floor Club Floor can enjoy the lounge, which offers afternoon tea from 3pm and a bar from 5:30pm, serving a selection of hors d'oeuvres and alcohol. If you're traveling, it's a good idea to relax here before heading out to explore the streets of Hakata in search of dinner.

It had been a while since my last visit. This time, I went to a chocolate buffet called "Chocolate Jungle" (I have been mostly visiting buffets recently). It was a paradise for chocolate lovers. Just like the previous strawberry buffet, the chocolate buffet was also very popular. It was fully booked. However, one thing was different this time - it was after the lifting of the COVID restrictions, so there were groups of 5 or 6 people at each table (compared to 2 or 3 people during the strawberry buffet). It was incredibly noisy. I couldn't even hear the conversation at my own table. The staff should have said something about the noise level. The buffet featured chocolate cakes, macarons, canelés, puddings, as well as savory dishes like cocoa carbonara, chocolate curry, chocolate and banana marshmallow pizza, salads, soups, sandwiches, and more. They even made pancakes based on the customer's preferred image. The pancakes were thin but chewy and delicious. I wish it had been less noisy. I hope the next time I visit, it will be quieter. It was really too loud.

As a member, I stayed at a hotel in Fukuoka. This time, since I was with my partner, we booked a corner twin room on the club floor (about 25,000 yen). We could enjoy afternoon tea in the club lounge (which we didn't use this time), cocktail time in the evening, and buffet breakfast, so I think it was quite a good deal. Although the building itself is quite old, the room has been renovated and is clean and comfortable, including the bathroom. During cocktail time (5:30 pm), you can enjoy a variety of drinks as well as ham, cheese, and other snacks that are quite delicious and low in salt. I started with sparkling wine, then had white and red wine, and before I knew it, 30 minutes had passed. You have to be careful not to eat too much, as it may affect your dinner. The next morning, we had the buffet breakfast. Nowadays, hotels put a lot of effort into incorporating local flavors, and the omelets are cooked right in front of you and quite tasty, making it easy to overeat. It was a feast over two days.

I chose this hotel because it is a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station and I needed a place to stay in Fukuoka due to sudden family circumstances. My family member is a smoker, so I needed a hotel where they could stay. I decided to have breakfast since it was included in the stay. The system for ordering breakfast was a bit confusing, but I realized that I could order omelettes with toppings right in front of me. I ordered an omelette and it was really delicious. There were a few service hiccups, but they were handled well, so I was satisfied overall and look forward to my next stay. I made a reservation again for a month later and chose a more affordable room since I only needed a place to sleep. The room was on a smoking floor and had a slight tobacco smell, which I didn't notice last time. I left my unwell family member at the hotel while I went out, but they contacted me to say they wanted to move to another hotel. They were disturbed by a music test that was too loud, and I asked the hotel to inform me about such things in the future. When they tried to go back to sleep, they were interrupted by the garbage collection staff. They expect more from a city hotel, so I hope the hotel improves. On a side note, there is a service where you can order a sandwich set for takeout for breakfast, but I had trouble making the reservation by the 9:00 PM deadline the night before. This was also disappointing.

ANA Hotel was my first time, but the lineup was quite impressive. The omelet from the live kitchen was delicious with plenty of ingredients. The restaurant was spacious and clean. Although there were few side dishes, the quality was high. Thank you for the meal!

December 2021. Fukuoka to Nagasaki trip. On the first day, I stayed in Fukuoka for the first time in a while. I chose to stay at the "ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Fukuoka" near Hakata Station. *Superior Twin (with breakfast) plan for about 20,000 yen for 2 people. It's less than 10,000 yen per person. The room is simple but the facilities are perfect. There are various restaurants in the hotel, but this time we ate out for dinner (ate too much lol) and went to bed early as usual. I woke up at 6:30 the next morning and had breakfast from 7 am. The breakfast venue is "Crowne Cafe" on the 1st floor. I wasn't hungry at all because I ate too much the day before, but I couldn't help but overeat at the buffet. This time, I chose mainly Western-style dishes. I couldn't resist the curry and pancakes, but well, it's 7 o'clock and I'll recover by lunch. The omelet was delicious too, so I was very satisfied with breakfast. Thank you for the meal! So I checked out of the hotel at 8 o'clock. The location is perfect, so I would like to use it again. It was a short time, but thank you - ANA KASHIKO.

This is the breakfast buffet at ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Fukuoka. I usually only order Japanese food, but today I chose Western food because my flight is approaching. I decided to have an omelette with mentaiko, a Fukuoka specialty. It was delicious. There were other options available, such as Mizutaki and Chikuzen-ni, which are local dishes. I'm not sure what the jellyfish with yuzu flavor was, but it was tasty. There were also choices like garlic chive dumplings. Overall, I think this hotel breakfast buffet is of a high standard. I wish I had more time to enjoy it.
