I wanted to eat monjayaki for the first time in a while, so I visited Kiyotaro, which I had been curious about. The menu had a lot of options and everything was delicious! I tried the monja with mentaiko, mochi, and cheese, topped with Baby Star noodles. The menu had recommended toppings for each flavor, making it easy to choose. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and flavorful with a nice dashi taste. Each table had sauces and mayonnaise, allowing us to customize the flavors to our liking. I will definitely go back again.

Recently, I have been seeing okonomiyaki restaurants popping up all over the place, like in Umeda and Sannomiya. They seem to also specialize in monjayaki, so I wondered if they were Kanto-style shops? Being a true Kansai person, I don't usually order monja and such. Their specialty is Butatama, but they seem to put a lot of effort into their ingredients, so I decided to try their Kiyotaro-yaki, a mixed okonomiyaki. They bring it to you after cooking it, not cooking it in front of you on the teppan table. This style is great because the oil smoke smell doesn't stick to your clothes. The okonomiyaki is generously topped with sauce and bonito flakes. They also provide regular okonomi sauce, thick sauce, mayonnaise, and seaweed on the table, so you can adjust to your liking. The mixed okonomiyaki contains Hinata pork, shrimp, spear squid, Akashi octopus, and dried squid. When the dried squid comes out, you know it's good! It seems like they are originally from Kansai, which is reassuring. The okonomiyaki batter is flavorful with dashi and the ingredients are of high quality. It's delicious. I was misled by the mention of monjayaki, thinking it was fake Kansai style, but it turned out to be authentic Kansai okonomiyaki. I will definitely come back! (^_^)/

It was before 5:00 PM, but I was able to enter. The staff seemed kind. I had a highball, beef tendon and konjac stew for 680 yen, and a unique okonomiyaki called "Yari-Ika Tamago" for 1,080 yen. Located north of Honcho, this restaurant used to be a large café that has now downsized to become a popular okonomiyaki shop. They seem to be actively expanding their business. I ordered the lunch set with yakisoba and okonomiyaki. Since it was lunch, they cooked it in the kitchen and brought it out on a hot plate. As a Kansai native, having okonomiyaki with rice didn't feel strange at all. First, a salad was served, which was a bit unusual for an okonomiyaki shop. The standard set included okonomiyaki, rice, and miso soup. The staff even confirmed if I wanted rice, which of course I did. Carbs on carbs on carbs, but it was delicious as usual. When it comes to okonomiyaki, I tend to avoid it because of the smell, but this place is still new. The exterior photos look delicious, so I decided to have lunch here. The restaurant is fairly new, so the tables are well-spaced and clean, which is reassuring. I ordered a set of okonomiyaki and yakisoba, which comes with a salad. The table has a hot plate, but the food is brought out already cooked on a metal plate, so it stays warm until you finish. You can add your own sauce to the okonomiyaki, but it's already delicious without any additional seasoning. The yakisoba noodles are firm and chewy, and the portion is quite generous. The waitress asked if I wanted rice, which is not included in the set, but I love carbs so I ordered it. You can also get seconds, so it's a carb lover's dream. Even without ordering extra, you'll leave feeling full. It seems like a great place to enjoy affordable food in the evening too.

It is topped with sweet sauce and bonito flakes. On the table, there are Kiyoshiro's special okonomiyaki sauce, spicy thick sauce, mayonnaise, shichimi, powdered bonito, and nori for you to use freely. Yakisoba with pork sauce + Buta-dama Okonomiyaki + Hinata Mochi Buta Tonpei, all pork dishes. The yakisoba has a chewy texture and goes well with the sauce (I really didn't need the rice after all). After returning to the office from lunch on Monday, I noticed this on the way back. Oh! It looks like it's open today! The storefront is overflowing with colorful celebratory flowers. I knew they were doing construction, but I didn't expect it to be today. So, the next day I came back. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious with a large capacity. The tables are generously spaced out in a modern style. Hanging partitions are set up between neighboring tables, creating a calm atmosphere with ambient and spot lighting. It feels like a sophisticated adult city in the heart of the business district. The menu is extensive and diverse, offering options like okonomiyaki, monjayaki, yakisoba, side dishes, and teppanyaki. There are 7 set menu options for lunch, and I chose this one: Okonomiyaki & Yakisoba Set: 980 yen. This includes half-size portions of pork okonomiyaki and yakisoba, with salad and rice as part of the lunch special. The food was served surprisingly quickly, in just 2-3 minutes. Perhaps they had prepared a certain amount in advance and kept it on standby on the hot plate. It's a time-saving service for the lunch crowd in the business district. The okonomiyaki sauce was surprisingly sweet, so I quickly added some "doro sauce" from the table. I also topped it off with mayonnaise. Finally, it tasted more like the familiar okonomiyaki. The yakisoba noodles were medium thickness, similar to those used in tsukemen, providing a chewy and satisfying texture. The salad was substantial, and the rice portion was just right, so I didn't feel like I was consuming too many carbs. From October, with the full lifting of the state of emergency, we can finally enjoy beer with our flour dishes. It's time to be set free. Bon appétit.

They don't grill it on the spot, they grill it in the kitchen and bring it to you. I love spicy food, so the spicy dro sauce was amazing. The fried cartilage was also delicious with a spicy kick. They have a restroom.

I arrived here by chance after walking along the arcade from Dotonbori. The sweet sauce is delicious, so I recommend trying the okonomiyaki or tonpeiyaki. I also tried the monjayaki, but I think the okonomiyaki is better.

Short trip in Osaka. Had dinner with 3 friends in Osaka. It was almost full at 6pm on Sunday. We sat in a spacious box seat where the finished dishes were placed on a hot plate for easy eating. We ordered Okonomiyaki - Nagataro Special with Modern-style soba added, Modern-yaki, Beef tendon with green onion yakisoba mix. On the table, there were various toppings like thick sauce, mayonnaise, seaweed, bonito flakes, etc., allowing us to customize the flavors as we pleased. Everything was delicious!
