I went to this shop in Ikoma-cho, Kyoto Prefecture to pick up a birthday cake for my child. The shop has a parking lot and security guards to assist with parking. There is also a cafe space inside where you can dine in. The prices for drinks are very reasonable and they have a wide variety of cakes and baked goods. I picked up the Children's Day Special 5-size cake (4752 yen including tax) and enjoyed it at home. My child wanted a strawberry cake, and this cake was perfect with plenty of strawberries, star-shaped soft cookies, a white chocolate plate, and cute characters. My child was very happy. The cream was not too sweet, so it was delicious. There were other great decorations available, so I would like to use this shop again. Thank you for the meal!

Arrived before 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. After climbing a little further up the hill from La Terre d'Or, there is a row of houses that look like a residential exhibition area. Nearby (probably) customers kept arriving in cars and taking food to go. The place was busy, so I decided not to take pictures of the showcase. The eat-in area is relatively small, but there are quite a few seats. The Fromage Marron dessert was perfect for autumn, with a light and refreshing mousse. It was nice that the cake and drink combo cost less than ¥800. I took my time there before heading to the National Diet Library.

I visited the cafe and was delighted to see families coming in one after another to pick up birthday cakes. There were more people taking out than dining in. After securing a seat, I chose a cake set from the showcase - Alsatian salted butter cake with a hot coffee. The Alsatian salted butter cake was delicious, especially for buttercream lovers. The buttercream was not too rich, with a perfect balance of salt, making it very tasty. It paired well with the strong coffee. I will definitely visit again. I also want to try the salted butter roll cake. Thank you for the meal.

I bought a cream puff. The bottom crust of the cream puff was like a cookie or tart, crispy and crunchy. The dough wrapping the cream was also crispy and fluffy. The cream inside was elegantly sweet and delicious.

I finished my research at the library and decided to buy some sweets before heading home since I was already in Kyoto. I searched on Tabelog and found a cake shop nearby called Patisserie Yamada. It's located to the west of the National Diet Library, about a 5-minute drive. In a residential area, you'll suddenly come across an eel shop and a patisserie. There is a parking lot in front and beside the shop, with space for about 10 cars. It seemed like a pretty large parking lot, but it was always half full with customers coming in one after another. I went into the shop and looked at the cakes. The cakes here are not high-end, more like cakes you'd find at a local bakery. The prices are also quite reasonable. I chose the following: Strawberry Tart (440 yen), Half-Baked Cheesecake (130 yen), Purple Sweet Potato Mont Blanc (380 yen), and Fromage Marron (390 yen). I enjoyed the cakes at home. The Purple Sweet Potato Mont Blanc had a subtle sweetness from the purple sweet potato paste. The sponge cake base was solid and held the Mont Blanc well on top. It was easy to cut and eat, much better than having a hard tart crust. The Half-Baked Cheesecake seems to be a popular item here. It was simply delicious. The Strawberry Tart had a soft base, which I prefer over the hard crusts that make it difficult to eat. The Fromage Marron had a fluffy texture with chestnut paste, similar to a Mont Blanc. It was easy to eat as well. Overall, the cakes were soft, not too sweet, reasonably priced, and appealing to people of all ages. This shop is definitely convenient for locals looking for good cakes.

This day was unlucky as the shop I wanted to visit was closed or I arrived too early. Before heading home quietly, I decided to have some sweets, so I visited this place. Later I found out that Miku Honda had introduced their cakes on TV. Although I had lived in Kyoto for a long time, I had never visited this area near the border with Nara. It is a quiet and beautiful residential area. There were several parking spaces in front of the shop. The parking attendant was energetic. The shop is a large building with a cute, typical cake shop design. As a measure against infection prevention, there are separate entrance and exit doors. The interior of the shop is quite spacious. There is a small seating area on the right side, but the capacity is limited. It was already past lunchtime, but there was only one group of customers. The showcase was filled with various cakes. There were also various baked goods displayed. When I asked the staff for recommendations, they suggested the "Dream Pudding" and "Hanjuku Cheese Cake". Since I had been turned down by a Japanese confectionery shop earlier, I ordered the recommended "Hanjuku Cheese Cake" for 130 yen and the "Matcha Jelly" for 430 yen. I also ordered a "KIDS Orange Juice" for 180 yen and decided to eat in. Water is self-service. The orange juice was a 200ml pack of 100% fruit juice from a certain manufacturer. Well, it's for kids. I started with the "Matcha Jelly". It came with red bean paste, two pieces of shiratama, and square matcha jelly. The red bean paste had a strong taste of azuki beans and was not too sweet, which was nice. The matcha jelly was not too rich, but had a good amount of matcha flavor without being too bitter. It had a good texture and was a delicious jelly. Underneath were matcha sponge cake and black beans wrapped in cream. The cream was extremely delicious. It had a moderate sweetness, a smooth texture, and a milky flavor. It went well with everything. It was surprisingly filling and very satisfying. Next was the "Hanjuku Cheese Cake". It was in the shape of a koban (oval coin) and was not very large. As the name suggests, "hanjuku" (half-cooked), I expected it to be very soft. When I peeled off the wrapping, I was surprised. It was so soft that it lost its shape completely. It had a baked surface, so the wrapping did not maintain the shape, but it was incredibly soft. It had a rich and creamy cheese flavor that spread in the mouth. It was also delicious. It was a great recommendation. It was delicious. I quickly searched online and found that it was a great cake shop I happened to visit. Especially the creamy texture was excellent, so I think any cake from here would be delicious. While I was enjoying the cakes, more and more customers arrived, which shows its popularity. It may not be easy to visit again due to its location, but with cakes of this quality, it shouldn't be a problem. I was impressed and felt like trying all the cakes. Thank you for the meal.

Suddenly, the mornings and evenings have become cooler. I wonder if autumn is approaching... Autumn is known as the season of good appetite! Even though I haven't lost the weight gained during the pandemic (^^; I suddenly felt like eating Mont Blanc today! I left work and went to buy it around 10 in the morning, and there were about 3 people in line. I couldn't decide which one to get, but I chose the chestnut flavor! Since I couldn't eat it alone, I ended up spending 2700 yen on various cakes. I can use them for dinner shopping though. I bought chestnut Mont Blanc, regular Mont Blanc, strawberry tart, salted butter cake (limited edition), and chocolate cream puff. I, of course, chose the chestnut Mont Blanc. It had a chewy choux pastry crust with chestnut cream, whipped cream, and diced chestnuts inside. The chestnut cream was rich and slightly less sweet, giving a strong chestnut flavor. The strawberry tart is also a favorite of mine. It has a balance of sweet and sour strawberries, light whipped cream, and custard cream on a slightly sweet tart crust. The texture is also great. The mistake I made that day was with the cream puff. I intended to buy a regular one, but mistakenly picked one with chocolate on top (similar to an eclair). After eating the Mont Blanc, I had the chocolate cream puff, which was also delicious, but not what I had initially wanted. The shop is always crowded, but the prices are reasonable and easy to buy from. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by this shop for a cup of tea. The parking lot was quite busy, but there were enough spaces and it seemed like a popular spot for takeout as well. The inside of the shop was also crowded, with some items sold out. Fortunately, I was able to find a seat for dining in and chose a strawberry tart. The whipped cream was not too sweet, and the tart crust was moist rather than crispy, with a nice balance of sweetness. The tartness of the strawberries made it relatively light. This shop would be convenient if it were nearby. It's easy to see why it's so popular.

I visited around 3:00 PM on a Sunday. I arrived by car and there were two parking lots with a security guard to guide me, so I felt safe entering. I lined up in a long queue. There were many customers getting takeout, and the cakes in the showcase were selling out one after another, but I managed to secure the strawberry tart I was looking for! The pudding also looked delicious, so I ordered it and was excited to hear that it would be caramelized. I also ordered tea at the same time. After paying, I moved to the dining area. I was able to secure a table and waited for my order to arrive. There were no number tags or anything, but the staff brought my order without any mistakes. It's impressive how they manage with so many customers. The tart had a generous amount of whipped cream on top, so at first glance, I thought it might be heavy, but when I tried it, it was lightly sweet and delicious. The pudding had a crispy surface and a creamy center, also lightly sweet and tasty. I thought it was a place I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a cafe and ordered a Royal Milk Tea, but was served with separate black tea and cold milk. I was disappointed as pouring the cold milk on top made the tea lukewarm and not enjoyable. If they serve it as a separate menu item called Royal Milk Tea, I expected it to be prepared properly. Despite being a regular customer, I have noticed a decline in the quality of the cafe recently. It's a shame because the cakes are delicious.

I ventured into the residential area, which was easy to access from the main street, and decided to buy some cakes to take home when I headed in that direction. It was around 4 pm on this day, and the eat-in area was bustling. I felt like there were fewer types of shortcakes than before, but it could have just been my imagination or maybe it was just that day. The prices were reasonable, which was great! They also have a garage, and on holidays, there is a security guard present. I bought a shortcake along with a half-baked cheese cake to take home, and it was delicious!

It's around 4 o'clock on a weekend, but the eat-in area is full. The showcase of cakes is also crowded. It's still a popular shop, although not to the point of forming a line. Perhaps the reason it's crowded is because there are no other shops to casually drop by in this residential area. The cake and drink set costs 600 yen plus tax. The cake is a strawberry tart, and the drink is lemon tea. Don't expect a pot service due to the price, but the tea served in a cup feels a bit lonely. The cake has a generous amount of cream, and the tart base is thick and solid. There are about three strawberries on top. The cake here is delicious, but lacks a delicate flavor. In the area where I live, from Nara to the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture, there are more and more cake shops, but they all seem to be simple. There are not many cakes that use plenty of liqueur or spices to create a unique flavor. There are no pastry chefs who dare to try something different. Simple shortcakes are nice, but I also want them to make more elaborate ones.

I stopped by a soba restaurant for lunch and decided to try their cherry pie, which my wife wanted. The restaurant has a large interior with a coffee corner as well. Today being Halloween, they had a variety of cakes and cookies, including ones inspired by the occasion. The cherry pie we bought had two rows of dark cherries as a feature, with a thin and crispy pie crust. It's a good choice for when you want something slightly sweet after a meal.

I stopped by because I was close to work. I reviewed this place 8 years ago, but this was my first time actually visiting the shop. Recently, a bakery with a cafe opened nearby, and it seems to be just as popular as ever. It was snack time at 3 p.m., and from the outside, it looked like there were a lot of customers, but there were seats available in the cafe area. The cafe menu only had cake sets. First, you choose your favorite cake from the showcase, order a drink, pay, and then take a seat. Cakes up to 410 yen are included in the set for a flat rate of 670 yen. Cakes over 410 yen will have an additional charge. The variety of cakes makes it difficult to choose. It was my birthday, so I splurged a bit. I had the autumn-themed "Japanese chestnut" (500 yen) with coffee. It was a good deal for 500 yen. There were also cakes in the 300 yen range. Despite their size, they were cheap. My opinion remains the same as my previous review. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations like the overall rating on Tabelog. The cakes were simply delicious. I wanted something with tart crust, but they didn't have it, so there were more options like roll cakes and choux pastry. The secret to their cost performance might be the wide variety of cakes. If I lived nearby, I could see myself coming back many times. They had about three types of Mont Blanc cakes. The "Japanese chestnut" I had this time felt a bit overpriced, so I should have just gotten a regular Mont Blanc. The pudding also looked delicious. Since it's in a residential area, groups of moms and elderly people who seemed to be locals were casually enjoying tea. There were about 5 tables, and when I arrived, they were empty, but by the time I left, there were people waiting in line. Despite being open for a while, it seems like the popularity hasn't waned. It seems like a shop loved by locals, but the cafe part seemed a bit understaffed. Orders were slow, forks were forgotten, and it felt a bit bothersome. With good cost performance and a wide variety, I thought I'd like to try a different cake next time I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal.

I bought a whole cake from here for the first time in a while. The taste is modern with a mild sweetness, making it easy to eat a lot with its lightness. The balance of the strawberry's acidity, the cream's sweetness, and the moist sponge texture was very nice. They also had a wide variety of regular cake options. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat Le Patissier Yamada's shortcake after a long time, so I went there in the evening. It was before 5 o'clock, but there were many different kinds of pastries available, which made me happy. Today, I bought a shortcake and a cookie choux. The shortcake seemed to be the same price, but the size was much smaller than before, which surprised me. There were fewer and thinner slices of strawberry in between. The taste was still delicious, not too sweet. I think it would be nice to have two options: a slightly more expensive, more substantial shortcake and the current one. Since it's already delicious, I think satisfaction is also important. Regular cream puffs are only available by reservation, and only cookie choux is available at the store. The cafe corner looked stylish, so I want to try eating in next time.

This is a busy popular restaurant where I usually dine in. Even if I order several cakes at different prices, they always give me a discount by offering a coffee set at the register.
