Met up with a friend after a long time! It was the first time this year! We were worried if there would be any available seats after 9:30 pm, but luckily there were 2 counter seats open at the third place we tried. We started off with some delicious focaccia and pate as appetizers. Since it was our third stop, we ordered a light potato salad and stingray fin. We also ordered some drinks and enjoyed them while chatting. This place is known for their great drinks. I had seen some tempting desserts on Instagram before, so this time we decided to order one. We got some fried donuts and creme d'ange. The fried donuts were almost sold out, so we got half the portion for half the price, which was nice. They were incredibly delicious. My friend, who used to be a pastry chef, also loved them. Once again, we had a satisfying experience. Not sure when we'll be able to go again, but we'll definitely be back!

On this day, after watching the latest Mission Impossible movie in Umeda, I walked from Nakazakicho to Tenroku Nakazakidori Shopping Street to the east. I chose a restaurant called "Izakaya Maruta" that seemed to focus on Japanese sake from the outside. It seemed like the owner was working alone at first, but later a Vietnamese or maybe a female part-time worker joined. I started with quick menu items, including grated nagaimo with wasabi and whole tomato soaked in broth, both of which were delicious. The dishes I ordered to go with the sake were also tasty without being too strong. Even though most of the customers that day were young, the food and drinks were satisfying for an older guy like me.

The restaurant was crowded everywhere, but we finally got a table! The chef was skillfully preparing dishes, which was really cool to watch. Every dish was delicious! I highly recommend ordering the assorted sashimi platter in the photo! Also, the fried burdock root was tasty too. They have a variety of Japanese sake as well!

I arrived early because I had been here a few times before and thought it might be crowded. Although it seemed like they had a lot of reservations, it wasn't busy yet, so I was able to comfortably enjoy my meal at the counter seats. The dishes I ordered were all delicious with just the right amount of flavor. The sake was also delicious, and I was very satisfied! This restaurant is definitely high on my list of places to visit again.

It was bustling around 6:00 pm on a regular day. The restaurant was lively and located near the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street in Nakazakicho. The spacious interior had tables and a tall counter, with seating on the narrow side but convenient for storing belongings. The menu was varied, with a daily printed menu offering a limited but appealing selection. We tried the Maruta platter for 1400 yen, which was decent but not very filling for two people. The Satsuma Chiran chicken breast sashimi for 640 yen was delicious, with a nice grilled flavor and minimal odor. Overall, we tried various dishes but found the portions to be small and not very satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like having sake and seafood for snacks, so I decided to stop by. There were a few other customers, but it was nice to be able to enter alone. They had a wide variety of sake, and this time I tried Kazenomori, Hououmita, and Kanamiki. They also had a lot of seafood options, from sashimi to grilled dishes. I was happy to see they had grilled fish. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I walked from Temmabashi Station to the Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street and casually dropped by "Izakaya Malta". The shopping street around here is really lively! I sat at the counter and started with a toast with a draft beer. The appetizer was boiled eggplant. I enjoyed dishes such as fried mackerel, tempura firefly squid, steamed clams, grilled new onion with meat miso and cheese, wasabi pickled whelk, meat miso cucumber, tuna prosciutto, and iron plate dashi egg. I switched to drinking shochu soda halfway through. Every dish went well with the alcohol. My favorite was the grilled new onion with meat miso and cheese. I didn't order it, but I heard that the "Malta platter," a kind of assorted sashimi, is also recommended. They also have a wide variety of sake that you can enjoy at a reasonable price.

After a long time, I went food hopping in Tenroku. I had the famous Maruta Mori (sea urchin, salmon roe, tuna) - you have to try this. It has a huge volume, and the popping texture of the salmon roe is really nice. They offer various types of sake for only 380 yen each, making it a convenient place to enjoy different kinds. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited around 9pm on a regular day, before the third wave of COVID-19. It was my second visit and I wanted to have a little snack and some Japanese sake. I ordered the assorted sashimi, which was luxurious and had a good amount of food. The sake selection was also quite extensive and delicious. Thank you for the feast!

This place in Temma is popular for its seafood! The "Malta Mori" sashimi platter seems to be a hit! I love seafood, so I was curious about it. I ordered a "Malta Mori" platter for ¥1280, chicken karaage for ¥580, ham cutlet for ¥380, and Eikofuji Yamagata (junmai daiginjo) sake. The "Malta Mori" sashimi platter was the specialty, with sea urchin, tuna, and salmon roe piled high, but the tuna was watery and sinewy, the sea urchin had a strong chemical taste, and the salmon roe was lacking. The visual presentation was good, but only seaweed was provided. The chicken karaage was satisfying, and the ham cutlet was thick and tasty with mayonnaise. The Eikofuji Yamagata sake was smooth and slightly sweet, a rare choice for me. The fruit sour drinks were also good, especially the frozen peach sour. Overall, apart from the "Malta Mori" platter, I was quite satisfied with the other dishes. Maybe it's a good place to try something other than seafood. I was happy to have tried it out! #Temma #SeafoodAttraction #SoSoAfterSushi #SavannahinLion ❤️

I went to a place where you can drink sake for 380 yen! Overall, it was decent. The sashimi was good, but the tuna had a slightly frozen taste. However, the sea urchin and salmon roe were delicious. They have a wide selection of sake, making it a convenient place to enjoy good and affordable drinks. I think it's a place that will be appreciated for being cheap, tasty, and easy to socialize in. Thank you for the meal.

We made a reservation for 10 people at a year-end party. With 10 people, we were able to have the second floor all to ourselves with self-service all-you-can-drink option! We could make our own beer, highballs, and sake as much as we wanted. It was a dream come true for drinkers. The food was delicious, especially the fried chicken and mixed rice. The 2 hours flew by in no time. Thank you for the meal. It's a restaurant I definitely want to visit again.

Kasu-jiru ramen: 580 yen Niku miso onigiri: 280 yen All sake: 380 yen Lemon sour: 480 yen (additional sour: 380 yen) I forgot the price of the small shrimp tempura, avocado, and salmon dish because I got a little tipsy! Sorry! However, this restaurant is great for sake lovers with all sake priced at 380 yen. There are many female customers, and it's a cozy and clean izakaya. The kasu-jiru ramen pairs well with alcohol, with a slight acidity from the tomatoes that goes perfectly with sake. The curry bread served as an appetizer was delicious and innovative. Good appetizers always boost the mood! Onikibo sake is spicy and bold, with a high alcohol content, but very tasty. Kido sake is easy to drink and reliable. I heard that their sashimi platter is famous, so I would love to go back and try it out!

There is a shop in Nakazaki-cho shopping street. The pate sandwiched between bread was delicious. I recommend the Japanese sake and the Maruta Mori. The Maruta Mori is a generous assortment of tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin sashimi. They offer a wide selection of Japanese sake, and the best part is that a glass is only 380 yen (・∀・). The only downside is that they pour the sake into a glass before bringing it to you. I wish they would pour it from a one-liter bottle in front of you. ---Today's Order--- Majoubu Maruta Mori Seared stingray fin

After leaving the first restaurant, "Keishuzenraku Yamanaka," we passed by the high-end bakery specializing in shokupan, "Honda," and the sweet potato sweets shop, "Mitsukoya," and now it's almost 5:00 PM, the time when the evening restaurants start opening. So, for the second stop, we decided to go to "malta," where the staff was getting ready to open. We arrived just 5 minutes before opening time and managed to secure seats at the counter. It's always fun to sit at the counter and watch the cooking process unfold right in front of you. The male staff member was multitasking efficiently, preparing dishes, washing dishes, plating, and cleaning up in between. It was impressive to see his speed and skill! The restaurant had a clear classification chart of the day's sake on the wall, making it easy for even sake beginners like me to understand. Here are some of the sake options we tried: - Kaze no Mori Suzumi Junmai (Nara) for 380 yen (excluding tax): A fruity and easy-to-drink sake, perfect for beginners. - Yamahoji (Yamagata) for 380 yen (excluding tax): Known as the spiciest sake in Japan, with a high alcohol content. My friend ordered this and found it deliciously spicy. We also tried some dishes: - Homemade bread sandwich as a complimentary appetizer. - Kinoko Ponzu (mushrooms with ponzu sauce) for 280 yen (excluding tax): A flavorful dish with a slightly different taste than expected but enjoyable. - Hon Maguro no Hoho Niku Tatak (seared tuna cheek) for 680 yen (excluding tax): Tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with sake. - Mochimochi Buta Hirayaki (pork belly and rice cake) for 580 yen (excluding tax): A dish with a unique texture, but slightly lacking in saltiness. After enjoying the second stop of our Tenma bar hopping adventure, I was starting to feel a bit tipsy and excited. Next stop, maybe the popular sake shop "Inada Saketen" across the street. Let's see how it goes!

Today I searched on my favorite Tabelog for a restaurant that is open from 5 pm, and I found Marta, a sake specialty izakaya that I had been curious about. I was hesitant because I thought it was just a sake bar, but they actually have a variety of sake! I visited right away! The complimentary dish was Monday limited curry, which got me excited as I love curry. It was not the trendy spicy curry or the traditional Japanese curry, but something in between with a tomato base. It was quite delicious! I toasted with a highball. The Marta platter included tuna red meat, tuna belly, sea urchin, and salmon roe. They were all delicious, but my favorite was the tuna belly. We also had oden, tempura, daikon radish, egg, and thick fried tofu. The oden had a bit strong saltiness, but it was perfect for the cold weather. We also ordered fried oysters, which came with homemade tartar sauce. I always order fried oysters when I see them on the menu. I tried some sake that I'm not familiar with, and my favorite was Kaze no Mori. The prices were reasonable, and we had a great meal for less than 5000 yen for two people. Marta is located right by Nakazaki shopping street and is close to Temma, so it's convenient. I'm thinking of revisiting with my friends at the end of the month. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was initially turned away because the restaurant was full, but while waiting outside, a customer left and I was able to get a table. Despite being open for only a year and a half, the restaurant is already quite popular. It's not part of a popular chain, but rather an individual establishment. The food quality is great considering it changes daily, and the portion sizes are just right for one person. Most of the customers were couples, and I ended up spending over 5000 yen during the three hours I was there. However, if you drink moderately, you could probably get away with spending around 4000 yen. They offer private rooms on the second floor for groups of 10 or more, with a self-service all-you-can-drink course for 4000 yen per person. It's a good deal for up to 16 people.

A popular izakaya where you can drink sake for only ¥380 - "Maruta" is a casual izakaya where you can enjoy a wide selection of local sake selected by the sake master owner for only ¥380 each. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for enjoying drinks and food together. The menu includes a variety of dishes that go well with sake, from Japanese to Western cuisine. Here is more information about the restaurant: - Name: Izakaya Maruta - Location: About a 5-minute walk from JR Temma Station - Budget: ¥3,000 to ¥4,000 - Closed on Sundays. Open from 5:00 pm to 12:00 am. Private rooms available. Reservations for private parties accepted. Smoking allowed. No parking available. When you arrive at Maruta, you will see sake barrels lined up outside the entrance, making it easy to spot. The interior, which is a renovated old house, features a counter, tables, tatami rooms, and a drink bar. As soon as you step inside, you will notice the focus on Japanese sake, with bottles displayed along the wall. The bustling atmosphere makes it a welcoming place for solo diners as well. For drinks, you can enjoy sake like "Alpha Wind Forest" for ¥380. This sake has a low alcohol content of 14% and is easy to drink even for those who are not used to strong alcohol. It has a refreshing taste with a nice sharpness. As for the food, some recommended dishes include: - Appetizer: Focaccia stuffed with minced meat - Maruta Plate: A platter of tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin - Grilled Chicken Thigh: Chicken pieces marinated in a flavorful sauce - Salmon Cream Stew: Creamy stew with salmon pieces - Kasu Soup Ramen: Thick soup with noodles - Meat Miso Rice Ball: Stylishly presented rice ball to finish off your meal All the sake options are priced at ¥380 for a 90cc serving, making it a great deal to enjoy a variety of sake selected by the sake master owner. The diverse selection includes sweet, dry, and even extra spicy options. With a budget of around ¥6,500 for two men, you can enjoy up to 8 cups of sake at this price. The value for the quality of food and drinks is exceptional, making it a great option for gatherings or casual nights out. The ingredients may not be top-notch, but they are perfect for enjoying with friends while sipping on sake.

"Marta Special" for 1280 yen is a dish filled with tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin piled up high. If you follow Marta on Instagram, the dish will be upgraded. My friend immediately followed Marta on Instagram and informed the staff. Wow! The portion is unbelievably large for this price, with a variety of ingredients including salmon and octopus. My friend, who loves salmon, was delighted. The dish also included seasoned seaweed, which was a bit disappointing, but overall it was enjoyable and delicious. We even got a refill when it was finished. The "Tuna Cheek Tataki" for 680 yen looked delicious from the start, and it tasted amazing as well. The balance between the crispy texture and the raw taste was perfect. I had the urge to chew it slowly for a long time. The staff were friendly, and I recommend this place for anyone craving seafood.

Located in Osaka's Nakazakicho and Tenroku area, "Izakaya Malta" is a popular restaurant known for its excellent value seafood platter called "Malta Mori" that sells out quickly, as well as its wide variety of menu options. The restaurant is also well-known for its extensive selection of sake recommended by a sake sommelier. They offer a wide range of rare sake brands, along with many other dishes that pair well with alcohol. It is recommended to arrive early to try their popular menu items.

I visited "Izakaya Maruta" this time. The restaurant is located about 80 meters into the Ten-go Nakazaki Shotengai from the intersection of Tenjinbashi 5-chome. When I entered the restaurant, I was guided to a counter seat where I could see the kitchen well. It's a prime seat for me. The stylish chopstick wrapper adds a welcoming touch. Now, let's take a look at the menu. It's divided into categories like "quick to arrive," "recommended," "specialties," and "fried foods," making it easy to read. The drink menu has a variety of options, including a good selection of sake. I think I'll start with a draft beer. Here at this restaurant, you can enjoy Sapporo Black Label beer. Cheers! As I was enjoying my draft beer, a complimentary dish was brought to me. "On Mondays, we serve curry as a complimentary dish. Today, it's a slightly tangy curry called Pork Vindaloo." What a surprise, achieving my goal right away! When I asked about the curry, the staff explained, "We prepare curry on Sundays, so we serve it as a complimentary dish on Mondays." The curry is really delicious, especially when eaten with bread instead of rice. It's an appetizer curry. It's so good. As I was savoring the curry, the dishes I ordered were also ready. The whole tomato salad. A great dish for the upcoming season. It goes well with beer! And the tuna sashimi with sake lees. The name "sake lees" is quite intriguing. Of course, I'll have it with... the Junmai Ginjo from Kido, the summer breeze. The Maruta platter, a popular choice, looks like this! A mountain of tuna topped with salmon roe. On this day, it also came with medium-fatty tuna, sea urchin, and greater amberjack, all for only 1,280 yen! It reminded me of "Uogin" in Shinbashi, Tokyo. After enjoying the fish, it's time for some meat dishes. So, I ordered the Satsuma Chiran chicken thigh. It's seasoned with a special sauce, and it tastes incredibly delicious. The crunchy texture of the bean sprouts is excellent, and the overall balance of the dish is really nice. I'll pair this with... the Oninokoshi Junmai Ginjo Summer Sake from Nara. It's perfect for the upcoming season, a refreshing summer sake. Furthermore, the homemade thick fried tofu. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The level of cooking here is really high. I'm starting to feel really happy. One dish that caught my eye on the menu was the "New! Ginger Pork." Is it ginger pork or new ginger...? Oh! It's pork wrapped in new ginger and grilled. I really liked this dish. The alcohol is flowing smoothly. I'm starting to think that the redness on the Zaku behind me is from getting drunk. From inside the counter, I hear, "Do you like potato salad?" "Yes, I love it." "Which do you prefer, regular potato salad or one made with blue cheese?" "I'd like to try the one with blue cheese, please." They are so flexible and accommodating. And here it is, the blue cheese potato salad that blue cheese lovers can't resist! It's also nice that it's served with honey. I came to Izakaya Maruta wanting to try the complimentary curry, but in the end, I became a fan of all the dishes. I will definitely visit this place again... I might have already made a reservation for next time.
