I revisited this place because I had a good experience before, back in March. I had planned to try their set meals next time. I arrived at the restaurant around 1:30 pm and was seated at a round table in the middle, where solo diners share a table. The lunch hour seemed popular as there were still 7-8 customers present. The menu offers a variety of dishes ranging from 500 yen for fried rice, yakisoba, Tenshinhan, and Gomoku soba to 750 yen for various set meals. This time, I chose the shrimp chili set meal for 750 yen. I expected the food to arrive quickly, but it took about 10 minutes. The meal included rice, which was refillable, but I didn't ask for more as there was already plenty. The shrimp chili consisted of small shrimp (similar in size to peeled large shrimp), onions, and green peppers. The soup that came with it contained egg, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms, along with pickled mustard greens and almond jelly for dessert. The shrimp chili had a slightly strange taste with raw onions and not well-cooked shrimp. The chili sauce was sweet and less spicy than I prefer. The soup was average, and the almond jelly lacked creaminess and sweetness. Overall, it was not to my liking. I received a 50 yen discount coupon for my next visit, valid for almost a month, but I may not return. Maybe trying their individual dishes like yakisoba would be better since it's cheaper.
This place is known for its sauna facilities, but I didn't know there was a Chinese restaurant on the top floor. I decided to try their lunch menu since it was lunchtime. I took the elevator to the top floor and found the restaurant immediately. I was asked if I preferred smoking or non-smoking, and I chose non-smoking. I was seated in a separate banquet room designated as non-smoking, as the main room was full of smoking customers. The non-smoking area was also crowded, and I ended up sharing a table with someone else. The lunch menu offered set meals for 750 yen and individual dishes like fried rice for 500 yen, which was quite reasonable. I wanted something like plate udon, so I ordered the Cantonese fried noodles for 500 yen with an additional 150 yen for rice. The dish arrived in 7-8 minutes, and it was a generous portion of Cantonese fried noodles with a slightly thicker texture than usual, which I enjoyed. The noodles were topped with squid, pork, shrimp, Chinese cabbage, bamboo shoots, green peppers, and carrots, all covered in a light, savory sauce. The noodles were cooked just right, not too hard or too soft, and the flavor was mild but quite delicious. The large portion of rice was a bonus. The set meals included a main dish, spring rolls, soup, and dessert, with free refills for rice and soup. The set meal at the table next to me looked appetizing as well. The meal also came with jasmine tea. I received a 50 yen discount coupon for my next visit, making the meal even more affordable. Considering the price and quality, I would definitely consider revisiting this place for a Chinese lunch in Umeda.
