This is the real Aoba Ramen restaurant. I visited around 7:30 in the evening after work. The place was quite lively with families, couples, and foreign tourists. This time, I tried the Mini Aoba Ramen, which is half the regular portion. The ramen features a soy clear broth made from chicken and vegetables, which is light but delicious. The soft thin noodles half portion paired well with the flavorful soup. The crunchy white leeks and tender bamboo shoots added a nice texture. I also added some spicy garlic chives and fried shallots for a bit of heat and crunch. The bok choy was also crispy and fresh. A highlight of the meal was the two pieces of tender braised pork belly, which had just the right amount of fat and a sweet and savory flavor. It was a delicious bowl of ramen from Aoba.

The specialty of this place is the braised pork belly and chashu. The Aoba Ramen with 2 pieces of braised pork belly costs 1,300 yen, while the regular ramen costs 1,100 yen. I wanted to try the braised pork belly bowl, so I left the Aoba Ramen to my partner and ordered the B set which came with the regular ramen. I opted for extra green onions, and when the ramen arrived, I was amazed by the amount of green onions. The soup was light yet flavorful, and the noodles were yellowish and medium-thin straight noodles that paired well with the soup. The chashu slices were tender and delicious. The braised pork belly bowl was melt-in-your-mouth tender, especially when paired with the free raw egg yolk. The amount of rice in the bowl was just right, and when topped with pickled vegetables and Taiwanese chili bean sauce, it was even more delicious. My partner's Aoba Ramen with braised pork belly also had a great balance of flavors, with the braised pork belly not overpowering the soup. Overall, despite the seemingly high prices, the quality of the ingredients and the reasonable pricing strategy were evident. I must try the Chashu and Green Onion mixed noodles available from April onwards.

I visited a restaurant where the owner was working hard by himself at the counter. I went for lunch, but the prices were a bit high. The braised pork ramen is famous there, but it was quite light in flavor. I tried the braised pork bowl, but it was just ordinary braised pork that you can find anywhere. Therefore, my rating was low.

"Aobara Ramen in Osaka, established in 1985, is a long-standing restaurant known for its Taiwanese-inspired braised pork ramen. The friendly owner provides a comfortable dining experience. The Aobara Ramen, priced at ¥1300, features a light soup with a round flavor of chicken and a subtle sweetness from vegetables, complemented by a gentle richness from fish broth. The thin, slightly firm noodles have a nice chewiness and smooth texture that enhances the flavor of the soup. The toppings include thickly sliced braised pork with a tender and juicy texture, marinated in a flavorful sauce. The bamboo shoots offer a crunchy texture and a savory taste, while the seasoned egg provides a creamy richness that blends well with the pork. The addition of Chinese cabbage and white leeks adds a refreshing touch to the dish. Overall, the ramen with braised pork is a delightful combination of flavors and textures. #AobaraRamen #SoySauceRamen #BraisedPorkRamen #OsakaRamen #OsakaGourmet"

I visited a nostalgic ramen shop along Matsuyacho Street, which I think was popular in the past. They offer lunch sets A, B, and C, but I opted for just the ramen which was priced the same as the A lunch set. It didn't feel worth it, but I managed to finish it by adding plenty of black pepper. I've been into rich broth lately, so I'll try a double soup rich ramen next time. Thank you for the meal!

I usually go for the light noodles with well-seasoned soup and tender braised pork belly for lunch at B Lunch. For dinner, I often choose Aoba Ramen or Braised Pork Belly Ramen. Unfortunately, the price has been raised, so I may not be able to have the Braised Pork Belly Ramen as often, but I still plan to visit regularly.

Yesterday (4/15), I had a bowl at "Tora Soba Tora-ya" near Hanazonocho Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, then transferred to the Yotsubashi Line, Midosuji Line, and Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi Line (so long‼) to Matsuyamachi Station to visit this restaurant and have another meal. I sat at the counter in the middle, looked at the menu, and ordered the "Aoba Raamen (1,000 yen)" without using a ticket machine. After a short wait, the bowl arrived. Thin brown soup with medium-thin straight noodles peeking out, topped with 2 slices of braised pork, Chinese greens, bamboo shoots, seasoned egg, and finely chopped green onions. When I tried the soup with a spoon, it was a gentle and refreshing clear chicken-based broth, which I really liked. The noodles pulled out from the soup were chewy and quite tasty. The braised pork as the main dish looked delicious and tasted really good, although it's not the melt-in-your-mouth type, which is expected for braised pork. The Chinese greens on the side were crunchy and paired well with the braised pork, and the seasoned egg, although slightly firm, was also quite tasty. Despite being my second bowl of the day, I finished everything, and while the price of 1,000 yen is a bit high, it's definitely worth it. That's the overall summary.

One evening for dinner, I went to a restaurant called Aoba Ramen Honmamon-ya in Matsuya-cho. It reminded me of the Aoba Ramen I used to eat a long time ago when I was young. The ramen had Chinese cabbage and a big piece of braised pork on top, which left a lasting impression on me. There used to be a few shops serving this ramen, but they all disappeared, leaving me feeling lonely. However, I was delighted to find a restaurant that continues this tradition. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was already full, so I had to wait a bit before being seated at the counter. I ordered the "Braised Pork Ramen" and as I waited, memories from the past flooded back. Finally, the ramen arrived. The braised pork mountain in the center of the bowl instantly brought back memories of the past. Although the Chinese cabbage was not a whole piece like before, it was cut into small pieces, but the visual presentation was reminiscent of the past. It was so nostalgic that it brought tears to my eyes. The noodles were smooth and had a good chewy texture. The soup was gentle and slightly sweet, blending perfectly with the flavor of the braised pork. The braised pork was tender and melted in my mouth, creating an exquisite experience. The crunchy Chinese cabbage added a nice touch to the dish. As I reminisced with the owner about the old days, many other customers also shared similar sentiments. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and grateful for the delicious meal. Thank you very much. I have an Instagram account @k_kazukun, where I share my food adventures. Feel free to follow, like, and comment. Thank you. Aoba Ramen Honmamon-ya Address: 1-7-22 Kawaracho, Chuo-ku, Osaka Braised Pork Ramen: 1400 yen Aoba Ramen: 900 yen

I used to go to Aoba Ramen, a genuine shop on Matsuyamachi Street near Nishiohashi. It was a branch of the original shop in Nishiohashi. The soup had a light flavor and the braised pork was so tender you could cut it with chopsticks. The crunchy choy sum was a nice touch.

"I went to 'Aobara Ramen Honmamon-ya'. It is located about 210m south along Matsuyamachi Street from Matsuyamachi Station on the Osaka Metro. There were rumors that it used to simply have a sign saying 'Aobara Ramen'. Were you ever asked by someone if it was that 'Aobara Ramen'? This place is a successor to the 'Aobara Ramen' main store (now closed) that used to be located at 1-22-23 Kitahorie, Nishi-ku, Osaka. I have been to the original store located about 150m south along Naniwa-suji from Nishi-Ohashi Station on the Osaka Metro, which was only open at night. So, I wanted to try their famous 'Kakuni Ramen', but since I'm not a big fan of it, I opted for the regular 'Ramen' (750 yen). The toppings included a large slice of chashu, menma, green onions, and bean sprouts. First, I took a sip of the soup... Delicious! I can't quite remember the taste exactly, but it was nostalgically delicious. The owner's customer service was very polite and welcoming, which left a good impression on me."

The restaurant is located a 2-3 minute walk south from exit 3 of Matsuyamachi Station on the Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi Line. Inside, there are 10 counter seats. I tried the braised pork ramen here. The ramen arrived shortly after ordering, with braised pork (dongpo pork), choy sum, and green onions as toppings. The noodles were thin and straight, and the soup was soy sauce-based, with a gentle and light flavor. The braised pork added richness to the dish, and the choy sum and crunchy green onions enhanced the texture. You can also add some spicy garlic chives for an extra kick. I look forward to trying a different ramen next time. Thank you for the meal.

25 years ago, I used to frequent Aoba Ramen in Senba, and I recently discovered it in Matsuyacho. Even though it was before the ramen boom and there were hardly any magazines about it, I remember how delicious it was. The reunion with their food was amazing, especially the melt-in-your-mouth braised pork! I can't remember the soup and noodles, but the Chin-gen cabbage that made me gasp in delight is still as good as ever! I was surprised at how delicious it was when I added some garlic chives to create a spicy ramen. I will definitely be visiting again!

Aoba Ramen for 900 yen. The soup was hot, with a clear and slightly sweet soy sauce broth made from chicken and vegetable stock. It was delicious but a bit lacking for my taste. The spicy garlic chives given by the owner were not to my liking. The straight medium-thin noodles were smooth but had a slightly firm texture. The toppings included green onions, bean sprouts, bok choy, and tender pork belly. The bok choy had a nice crunch, and the pork belly was delicious. The parking lot this time cost 110 yen at Times Shimanouchi No. 20, with a lucky open spot, and carboy Shimanouchi 1-chome was full at 100 yen for 30 minutes.

On a regular night, I was drinking in the neighborhood. After Okinawan cuisine, I went to a ramen shop on Matsuya-machi Street. The shop is called Honman-ya Ramen Aoba. I had been curious about this place for a while but never had the chance to visit. It was around 9 p.m. when I arrived. There was only one customer seated in the back. I sat at the counter near the entrance. Now, let's look at the menu. They offer three types of ramen: Mini Aoba, Aoba, and Chashu Ramen. I guess the difference lies in the amount of toppings like chashu. For toppings, they have Mini Chashu, Ramen, Vegetables, and Chashu Ramen. They also offer three types of soy sauce-based noodles. Other options include Chashu Don, Chashu Plate, and set meals. For lunch, there are three options with mini Chashu Don or Chashu with extra rice sets. Toppings include green onions, Chinese cabbage, flavored egg, bamboo shoots, and kimchi. I ordered the Aoba Ramen with a side of rice. After a short wait, the rice and ramen arrived. Ah, it's ramen here. It comes with Chinese cabbage, pork belly, bean sprouts, and small green onions. The ramen has a lot of green elements. The chashu slices are thick and have a strong marinade. The visual presentation is quite impressive. First, I tried the soup. It's a clear broth with a light soy sauce flavor that brings out the umami of the vegetables. It's a unique and refreshing taste that you don't come across often. Next, the noodles. They are straight noodles with a slight twist. I took a bite of a bundle. The noodles are soft and almost at the point of stretching. They have a gentle and soft texture that is enjoyable. The chashu tastes like simmered pork belly, with a traditional flavor. It goes well with the rice too. The Chinese cabbage is crunchy and has a distinct green aroma. It's a rare ingredient for ramen, but I think it's essential for completing the dish. The rice, served with pickles, is fluffy and delicious. I enjoyed it alongside the ramen. The combination of the vegetable-forward, light soy sauce ramen is not something you come across often. It was a great ramen dinner. Thank you for the meal.

I had lunch at "Aobara Ramen Honmamon-ya" on Matsuya-machi Street. Although I have been walking along this street for a long time, I only recently discovered this restaurant. The ramen came with 2 slices of chashu, menma, moyashi, and negi as toppings. The noodles were thin and straight, cooked soft, with a soy sauce base broth that had a refreshing and slightly sweet taste. The B set came with a mini braised pork rice bowl, which had a perfect balance of flavors, not too spicy or too sweet, and went well with the rice. You can choose between medium and small rice portions. On the table, there are condiments like black pepper, shichimi, fried shallots, and pickled vegetables for set menus. The restaurant has a deep counter with 10 seats, and there are manga books at the back. The owner runs the place alone and is friendly and approachable.

After wandering around the Namba and Shinsaibashi area, I returned to my room to take care of some things. Then, I headed to a certain drugstore on Matsuyacho Street that I had been curious about for a while. The shop had only counter seats and was run by a single owner. The menu offered ramen, abura soba, and rice dishes, with the specialty being the braised pork. I ordered the Aoba ramen with braised pork and rice. The soup seemed to be a mix of chicken broth and vegetable broth, with a light and gentle flavor that was slightly sweet from the vegetables. The saltiness was just right, not overpowering. The noodles were medium-thin and had a smooth texture. The vegetables included pak choi, bean sprouts, and green onions, all blanched to retain their crisp freshness. The braised pork, the shop's pride, was tender with a sweet and savory glaze. It paired perfectly with the rice. A side of spicy leeks was also served for flavor variation. I also tried the char siu scallion oil soba, which had a slightly oily and sweet flavor from the scallion oil. The sweetness might be a dividing factor for some, but I enjoyed it. The char siu was delicious as well. Despite expecting a rich and heavy ramen with braised pork, it turned out to be a light and refreshing dish. It would be a good place to end a night of drinking, especially with the nearby deep Kuromon Shopping Street. I also tried the abura soba, which was a bit different from what I had imagined. Next time, I'll definitely add extra braised pork.

I chose the "Chashu Ramen" with plenty of simmered pork. The soy sauce flavored soup looks light but has a strong flavor. The broth has a hint of dried bonito. The topping of Chinese cabbage and green onions complements the soup well. The noodles are straight and pair nicely with the soup. The simmered pork melts in your mouth and is full of flavor. It's clear that the choice of adding fat was the right one. This bowl showed the chef's dedication in every aspect. @Aoba Ramen Authentic Shop

This is a well-known long-established ramen shop located right near the Matsuyamachi subway station, famous for its braised pork ramen. It is currently known as "Aoba Ramen Honmamon-ya," but I believe it used to be just "Aoba Ramen." The exterior has a simple sign and curtain, and inside there is a counter where the owner operates the shop alone, with manga and a TV on display. The menu includes options like Mini Aoba Ramen, Aoba Ramen, Braised Pork Ramen, Vegetable Ramen, and Chashu Men. I ordered the Aoba Ramen. It arrived in about 5 minutes, with a beautiful contrast of braised pork and greenery. The soup is a light soy-based broth with a hint of vegetable flavor. The noodles are thin and cooked quite soft, and the toppings include braised pork, bean sprouts, bok choy, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The braised pork is richly flavored, tender, and delicious. I was also recommended to try the condiments of shallots (fried onions) and spicy pickled garlic chives, which added extra flavor to the dish. Overall, it was a tasty experience at this long-standing local ramen shop. Thank you for the meal.

Located a little south of Matsuyacho intersection along the east side of Matsuyacho street, this shop is new to me. I used to enjoy Aobara Ramen around Horie on Naniwa Street some time ago, and it brought back memories as I tried it again today. Aobara Ramen is known for its braised pork belly and Chin-gen-sai vegetables. Although the portion of Chin-gen-sai wasn't as big as before, the two slices of braised pork belly and the soup were satisfying. The soup was not too heavy and more like Chuka Soba than ramen. It was a bit different from before, but it was delicious after a long time.

I have passed by this restaurant many times before, but I always hesitated to go in because it was always empty and the English menu and prices seemed a bit high. However, this time there were customers inside, so I decided to give it a try. The basic Aoba ramen was 900 yen, while the chashu ramen was 1380 yen, which seemed a bit pricey. I decided to try the chashu ramen. The service was incredibly fast, and the chashu was large, tender, and rich in flavor. It felt more like a rice bowl dish than ramen. The noodles were thin, and the broth had a refined taste, similar to what you would find in Chinese cuisine. The vegetables were cooked well. In conclusion, the taste was akin to that of a high-end ramen, so I believe the cost performance is not bad. However, personally, I may feel it is expensive due to the atmosphere and personal preferences. While I was eating, I saw a foreigner come in and the staff were able to assist in English. There were also regular customers enjoying the chashu ramen and chashu rice bowl, indicating that the restaurant is popular.
