ナマデタベルトウモロコシ
In the bustling area of Juso, known for its standing bars, yakitori, and izakayas, there is a lack of options for affordable traditional Japanese cuisine. However, recently a new Japanese restaurant started construction along Yodogawa Street in the east side of the area, sparking interest among the local residents. When a new establishment with potential opens up, the residents eagerly inquire about the details, such as the type of restaurant and the opening date, gathering detailed information through word of mouth. I myself visited the restaurant on its second day of opening. The new and clean interior of the restaurant was welcoming from the moment I stepped inside. The restaurant had several 4-person tables and a counter that could seat about 7 people. The calm atmosphere made it a perfect spot for groups of 2-3 people, although larger groups could be accommodated at the tables. The appetizers included sesame tofu, deep-fried small fish in sweet and savory sauce, simmered mushrooms, and boiled greens in a light sauce, all served in elegant dishes. The presentation in wooden boxes added to the overall experience. Following that, we enjoyed a sashimi platter, minced fish salad, corn tempura, sautéed celery, and braised beef tendon, all of which exceeded our expectations. The celery dish, recommended by a fellow diner, was a standout, and the minced fish salad was exceptionally well-executed, making a return visit a definite possibility. Overall, with excellent dishes that pair well with drinks and delicious options for non-drinkers as well, this restaurant has the potential to become a popular spot in the area.
