ピーちゃんの足跡
I watched a special feature program on TV and immediately made a reservation! Even though it's a long-established traditional restaurant, I was able to make a reservation online (lol). I reserved the most reasonably priced lunch menu, the bamboo lunch box, that I saw on the screen. It's located near Nijo Castle, and I don't think the taxi ride from Sanjo cost more than 2000 yen. Since there are unfamiliar drivers, having a map is essential. When the taxi arrived, the young master and the head hostess came out to greet me, and the room attendant guided me to a private room. You can choose between chair seating and tatami seating when making a reservation. The historic building is very lovely, and the fact that it's not flashy is also nice. The private room overlooks a courtyard with beautiful greenery, making it very quiet and calming. The room attendant, who speaks in Kyoto dialect, has a very Kyoto-like demeanor, which is nice. The fact that they don't open up easily is also very Kyoto-like and nice. The meal started with yomogi tofu, followed by sashimi, the bamboo lunch box, soup, rice, and dessert. All the dishes were elegantly presented, and the decorations were enchanting. The sashimi, designed to resemble the Aoi Festival, was truly elegant. The most important part, the food, was all delicious. The yomogi tofu was rich in flavor, and the broth was very tasty. The bamboo lunch box had a variety of dishes, each with a different flavor, which was very impressive. The fried dishes were warm and very carefully prepared. The basic flavors were subtle and refined. With so many dishes, all so delicious, and served in a private room at this price... it's too good of a deal. I wonder what the more expensive courses would be like. I want to go back again. Even though the restaurant had an average rating on Tabelog, it was a highly recommended place.
