I visited Kyoto Katsugyu near Yodobashi Camera in Umeda! I tried the Beef Sirloin Katsu and Eel Katsu set for 1690 yen (including tax). The Eel Katsu is made by grilling eel kabayaki with fragrant shiso leaves and sansho pepper. The crispy coating contrasts with the tender eel, and the refreshing flavor of the shiso leaves makes it juicy and enjoyable. The Beef Sirloin Katsu is soft and the meat's fat is just right, making it very delicious and perfect with rice! They offer a variety of condiments like sauce, soy sauce, sansho salt, Kyoto tororo sauce, curry sauce, and wasabi, so you won't get bored. You can enjoy unlimited refills of rice, cabbage, and red miso soup until you're satisfied!

I was very indecisive due to the many dining options in Umeda, but finally decided to enter a restaurant. I ordered a 150 gram beef cutlet for about 2000 yen. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. It came with a hot plate, so I could reheat it if it cooled down. There were also many different side dish options for the rice, and one free refill wasn't enough for me. I am satisfied.

I had the "Beef Sirloin Cutlet, Minced Cutlet, and Kyoto Tororo Bowl" for lunch, which cost 1,309 yen! The beef sirloin had a very elegant taste, making me feel luxurious! The minced cutlet was delicious with a fluffy texture! The tororo was nutritious and perfect for the summer season!

I went to the restaurant that I was curious about! Personally, it was not as good as I had imagined from the photos, but I still left feeling satisfied. However, due to the high price of eggs, the tamago (??) ended up being a little disappointing. But if you become LINE friends, you can have unlimited refills of rice and akadashi for free, so I think the satisfaction level is high!

As a Kyoto resident, it was my first time visiting, and in Osaka Umeda at that! Right across from Yodobashi Camera, next to the Doctor Stretch I frequent. I ordered the sirloin cutlet and mince set. They had a hot plate available, but the food was delicious even without it! Thank you very much!

I always wanted to go and try the famous beef cutlet that was a big trend at one point! It gives off a slightly higher impression compared to tonkatsu restaurants. The signature dish is the White Beef Sirloin Cutlet Set for 1749 yen, which includes rice, beef cutlet, cabbage, red miso soup, and sauces like curry, soy sauce, ponzu, and salt. You can enjoy it rare, slightly warmed, or grilled. The cutlet is a bit cold in the middle when rare, like sashimi. It goes well with sashimi soy sauce. Grilling it slightly before eating gives it a nice cutlet texture. The ponzu and curry were delicious! It was exactly as I imagined, for better or for worse. Overall, the taste was good, service was decent, but the cost performance was a bit lacking.

I went to see a play in Umeda with my sister's invitation☆ In the past 1-2 years, there have been many online performances, but watching a live stage with an audience is really great! I couldn't forget the beef cutlet I ate in Osaka before, so this time I was determined to eat beef cutlet for sure! I couldn't decide on just one, so I got a combination of beef rib loin cutlet, beef loin cutlet, and Kyoto Tamazen. They also brought a hot iron plate for those who want it cooked a bit more. I enjoyed each sauce - wasabi soy sauce, sansho salt, sauce, and warm tamari sauce. They were all delicious(^o^) My husband chose the combination of beef sirloin cutlet, beef loin cutlet, and Kyoto Tamazen. By adding LINE as a friend, you can have unlimited refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. Indeed, you'll want more rice at a place like this. My sister chose the eel beef cutlet. Eel cutlet is quite rare! I was also attracted to this, but my sister kindly shared a piece with me☆ The eel cutlet was thick and fluffy. It was delicious(^o^) Both my husband and sister had their first beef cutlet experience. They both said it was delicious☆ and enjoyed it thoroughly. Thank you for the meal\(^o^)/

When you pass through the noren curtain, there are stairs leading down to the restaurant. I tried the half-and-half of sirloin and loin. The sirloin was tender and fluffy. They provide wasabi soy sauce, curry, and other sauces as a set, so you can enjoy various flavors.

I pulled out my film camera, loaded it with batteries, and bought film at Yodobashi. I got Velvia50 and ACROS100II. I also had lunch there, ordering a beef sirloin and tuna cutlet set for 1859 yen. The beef was surprisingly light for beef, and the tuna was even lighter. When I hear beef cutlet, I expect a larger portion, but there were also plenty of vegetables, and the aftertaste was light. Thank you for the meal.

I often go to Osaka but had never tried beef cutlet before, so I decided to give it a try and found this place at the top of the search results. I went around 7 pm without a reservation and was seated immediately with no wait.
[Food] Since it was my first time trying beef cutlet, I decided to go all out with the Beef Cutlet Deluxe Set for ¥2,959. It was a set that allowed me to try all parts of the beef cutlet, with sauces like beef cutlet sauce, wasabi soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, and ponzu sauce with grated radish. I particularly enjoyed the simplicity of eating rib roast with sauce and tongue with pepper salt. Next time, I might try the Rib Roast Cutlet & Thick-Cut Tongue Cutlet Set.
Rice, miso soup, and cabbage are refillable if you add the restaurant on LINE as a friend. Of course, you can also get refills for your friends! Each dish comes on a hot plate, allowing you to enjoy it warm.
[Service] The staff members were very friendly.
[Atmosphere] The restaurant was small but very clean. I would definitely like to go back.

I tried the all-you-can-eat one-bite beef cutlet challenge at a restaurant from July 21st to September 12th. The set meal cost 1,000 yen (excluding tax), plus an additional 580 yen for the all-you-can-eat option with LINE friend registration. There was also a challenge where if you ate over 50 pieces within 60 minutes between August 25th and September 12th, the meal would be free. I attempted the challenge but failed after eating 43 pieces. The restaurant was busy but the service was good and the food was served quickly. It was a tough challenge for me as I don't usually eat a lot of fried foods. In the end, I paid 1,419 yen (including tax) and left the restaurant.

I visited the Katsugyu Umeda store a year after enjoying delicious beef cutlets at the Katsugyu Shin-Osaka store on June 4, 2020. The cutlets are served freshly fried and can be further heated on the iron plate in front of you for a piping hot experience. It's fun to enjoy a variety of flavors with dashi soy sauce, sansho salt, beef cutlet sauce, and Kyoto curry dipping sauce. My favorite is the dashi soy sauce because it allows you to taste the slightly reddish beef cutlet itself and the flavor of dashi stimulates the appetite.

One of my favorite beef cutlet chains! Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Umeda store! It is located across from Yodobashi Camera, underground. I recommend ordering the beef loin cutlet set! The food comes out quickly after ordering, which is very convenient! The taste is delicious, as always. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a yakiniku restaurant once a long time ago, but I forgot which one. I decided to use my Goto Eat points and went back after a long time. I ordered the beef loin cutlet set for 1380 yen (excluding tax). The portion was quite large. They offered free refills for barley rice, cabbage, and red miso soup, but it was a bit difficult to order as they were short-staffed that day. The service was polite and I found it very likable. I felt that the price and portion size didn't really match, but the restaurant was filled with high school or college students who all seemed well-off. Overall, it was a nice meal.

Since eating beef cutlet in Amagasaki, I have been wanting to eat it again, so I searched for a few shops. The shop in Kyobashi was closed, so I stumbled upon this place. They serve beef cutlets as a set meal, and there are no single items available. They offer various ways to enjoy it, such as with wasabi & dashi soy sauce, salt, sauce, curry, or beaten egg. I ordered two types of meat because I am greedy, but the rib roast was too stretched out. I prefer a simple, thick cutlet that I can eat while it's still warm. Also, I'm not a big fan of barley rice. Oh well. I guess I'll have to make beef cutlets at home...

On November 2020, a single person had the "Gyu Rib Roast Cutlet and Gyu Loin Cutlet Kyoto Tamazen" for 1628 yen. The meal included beef rib roast cutlet, beef loin cutlet, cabbage, miso soup, barley rice, curry, egg, soy sauce (with wasabi), sansho pepper, and sauce. The restaurant is located near Osaka Station, on the basement floor. The food was simply delicious. With options like curry and eggs, it was easy to eat more rice. The owner kindly brought seconds. The egg was served TKG-style with soy sauce. The miso soup was a bit salty. Despite being alone, the person was seated at a spacious table. The service was very attentive.

When I added a friend on LINE, I was able to enter a lottery where the beef loin cutlet set, originally 1380 yen, was discounted to 1000 yen. I decided to try it out. I had been to a sister store in Sannomiya once before, but it was busy and crowded, so I didn't fully enjoy the meal. Today, I made sure to savor every bite. The set came with unlimited refills of barley rice, miso soup, and cabbage. The sauces included dashi soy sauce, sansho salt, and tonkatsu sauce. There was also curry broth with red miso, which I love. The wasabi was probably high quality, as I usually don't like store-bought wasabi paste but enjoyed this one. The beef cutlet was tender and delicious. I particularly liked dipping it in the curry broth. I would like to come back, but I remembered being shooed away by the staff when I entered close to closing time in the past... Why did I forget about that, me? Hmm. Furthermore, today I realized that I had dropped a laminated menu on the floor, picked it up, and placed it back without cleaning it. Not very hygienic, even without considering the current situation with COVID-19.

In May 2020, my phone's battery was draining quickly, so I went to Yodobashi Umeda to get it replaced. While waiting for the battery replacement, I decided to have lunch at a nearby restaurant. "Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu" in front of Yodobashi was open, so I went in. I ordered the Beef Loin Cutlet Set (regular) for 1518 yen. The meal came with barley rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage, with free refills. The beef cutlet was crispy on the outside and full of flavor. It came with dipping sauces like dashi soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, sauce, and Kyoto curry broth. I enjoyed changing up the flavors while eating. For dessert, I poured the leftover Kyoto curry broth over barley rice and tea to make curry tea rice, which was also delicious. The service was polite and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant. Thank you for the meal!

When it comes to beef cutlets, I had only been to the famous Motomura before, but I had some time before the bus arrived so I came here. I was surprised that various condiments and even curry come as default. The pricing is a bit high, but the overall balance, service, and calm atmosphere were good. The taste of the meat itself was a bit lacking. However, this unique feeling is somehow addictive. I might come back again.

Recently, I have been seeing more and more branches of "Katsu Ushi," which has its main store in Kyoto's Pontocho. The branch I visited is located underground along Route 176 near the New Hankyu Hotel in Osaka Umeda. Despite having a lantern-shaped sign, many people seem to be unaware of its existence due to the underground location. The interior of the restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with only table seating available. When I visited for lunch, it wasn't too crowded, and I was seated promptly. I ordered a glass of draft beer (Sapporo Black Draft, 380 yen), which was cold and delicious. As for the main attraction, there are five types of cuts to choose from: 1) Ribeye - a relatively fatty cut with a sweet and juicy flavor. 2) Sirloin - a familiar cut with a good balance of lean meat and fat. 3) Fillet - a lean cut with high protein content. 4) Tongue - a classic cut often found in yakiniku restaurants. 5) Wagyu Beef - a luxurious option unique to Japanese beef. All of them sound delicious, making it hard to choose. For those who can't decide, there is a combination plate that includes both ribeye and sirloin (Beef Ribeye and Sirloin Cutlet Kyoto-style, 1480 yen). The meat is served medium-rare, with a crispy coating and tender, flavorful meat inside. The different sauces provided - wasabi soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, special sauce, Japanese curry broth, and half-cooked Kyoto egg - each added a unique flavor to the dish. I particularly enjoyed the wasabi soy sauce. In addition to the meat, you can enjoy unlimited refills of cabbage, rice, and red miso soup, which is a nice touch. The rice tastes great with the Japanese curry broth and half-cooked Kyoto egg poured on top. Beef cutlets are not as common as pork cutlets, but this experience has made me want to revisit Katsu Ushi for more.
