ハラミ串
[Overall]
Located about a 3-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station, this sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building offers a great deal for lunch. The slightly small-sized sushi has a distinct texture of the rice grains, which is soft and melts in your mouth. The harmony between the toppings and the rice is excellent. Both traditional and innovative sushi options are delicious, and the lunch set offers a variety of choices. The tempura and red miso soup served as side dishes are also meticulously prepared and very tasty. It's hard to believe all this is only for 1200 yen.
The restaurant is located in a quiet alley in Kitashinchi, with a red-tiled building on the 2nd floor. It may be a bit difficult to find, as the building doesn't look like a typical restaurant building. The interior has a refined atmosphere with a counter for 10 seats and three raised tatami seating areas. There are three chefs and one waitress. The service is smooth and professional, giving a sense of luxury typical of Kitashinchi.
The lunch menu consists of two options: nigiri sushi and chirashi sushi, both for 1200 yen, including a side dish and red miso soup. Nigiri sushi seems to be more popular among customers. Having the sushi made right in front of you is indeed a unique experience. I decided to go with the nigiri sushi this time.
- Tempura and Red Miso Soup: Served before the nigiri sushi, it includes eel, trefoil, lotus root, and pumpkin tempura. The tempura is small but delicious, with a crispy and light batter and a flavorful dipping sauce. The red miso soup has a strong flavor but doesn't overpower the taste of the broth.
- Nigiri Sushi: Served on one plate, it includes tuna, amberjack, sea bream, mackerel, salmon, and simmered eel, along with rolls, totaling 11 pieces. The sushi is small with a distinct texture of the rice grains, which blends well with the toppings. All the toppings are of high quality, with sea bream and eel standing out.
- Pumpkin Mousse: A fluffy and creamy dessert with a natural sweetness of pumpkin and a refreshing aftertaste.
In conclusion, the sushi here is of high quality, with a good balance between the toppings and rice. The tempura, red miso soup, and overall dining experience are excellent, making it a great value for 1200 yen. While dinner might be pricey due to the location, the lunch set offers a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal.
