After returning from Namba, I stopped by KYK for tonkatsu! I started with a lemon sour (laughs). Instead of tonkatsu, I opted for vegetable rolls and shrimp fry! Plus, I added a crab cream croquette (laughs). It wasn't the typical tonkatsu, but a menu with variety. Yes! It was delicious.

Today, I wanted to eat a big pork steak at Namba CITY, but there was a long line, so unfortunately I went to "KYK" instead. There were many attractive menu items, but I was drawn to the "Seasonal Hand-rolled Vegetable Tonkatsu Set," so I ordered that! It came with shrimp fry, dried tomatoes and zucchini, asparagus, a side dish (cold tofu), pickles, unlimited cabbage refills, rice, and miso soup. I started with the cabbage first, and I finished it quickly so I got a refill! The shrimp fry was consistently delicious. The vegetable hand-rolled tonkatsu was wrapped with vegetables in thinly sliced pork, which made me feel a little less guilty since it had vegetables in it. The harmony of vegetables and pork was quite good! The rice and miso soup were recommended for refills by the staff, but I declined! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Around 3 groups of customers were waiting when I arrived at around 3 PM, which was surprising! I waited for about 10 minutes before being seated. As soon as I entered, customers started leaving and the restaurant became empty, which was a bit sad. I had planned to have tonkatsu, but since they were running low on oyster fry, I ordered that instead. The oyster fry had a thick batter and the size was not too big. The batter was too thick, so the taste was a bit weak without the sauce. The pink tartar sauce was delicious, but the portion was too small. The tonkatsu sauce didn't go well with the oyster fry. Tonkatsu is recommended here.

I went for lunch! The set lunch was sold out, but I was very satisfied with the lunch set with tonkatsu and shrimp fry for less than 1000 yen. Salad, miso soup, and rice were all free refills! It was very delicious! The restaurant was spacious even during lunchtime, so it was nice.

Located in the basement of Namba CITY main building, this famous Osaka tonkatsu chain offers unlimited rice, vegetables, and miso soup refills. The shrimp fry has slightly decreased in size. On the 10th, KYK points will be doubled.

Thick-cut tonkatsu. Very tender. Can't make it like this at home. With skill and extra effort, you can enjoy it deliciously. Tonkatsu is a power lunch. I'll start thinking about losing weight tomorrow and always remind myself. Thank you for the meal.

I went around 6:00 pm on Saturday evening and the restaurant was only about 30% full, so I entered without hesitation. It seemed like a popular place, so I was glad I could get in at a good timing! I ordered the black pork loin tonkatsu set with miso soup. It cost me around 2,000 yen. Salad, rice, and miso soup were free refills, so I first refilled my salad while waiting for the tonkatsu to arrive. When it came, I squeezed lemon, sprinkled salt, and tried it first - it was delicious! I ate half of the rice, then refilled it as usual, and enjoyed the tonkatsu and miso soup, all of which were delicious! Eating Osaka's soul food after a long time got me super excited! I will definitely go back! Thank you for the meal.

Located in Namba City, I wanted to have a hearty meal for lunch. It seems to be crowded around 12-13 o'clock, but it was quiet around 15 o'clock. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and pork cutlet with a small size of pork miso soup. The miso soup had sweet potatoes and taro in it, which change depending on the season. I was happy to see sweet potatoes, but personally, I prefer them a bit softer. The texture was more crunchy than tender. I wish the broth had a bit more of the sweetness of the pork or the taste of the vegetables. It was nice that you could get a refill of the regular miso soup. The regular miso soup had shiitake mushrooms and fried tofu in it. The jumbo shrimp was delicious, not too bland, and had a nice firm texture. You can ask for extra tartar sauce if you want. The pork cutlet was decent for the price. It didn't have an outstanding meaty flavor, but it was okay as a tonkatsu. There was herb salt on the table, and I tried it, but regular salt or rock salt might be better. The creamy dressing for the cabbage was Southern-style, but it had a strong taste that went well with the cabbage. The staff was efficient and had a good service attitude.

I visited KYK in Namba CITY's main building basement for the first time in a while. It was almost full even though it was towards the end of lunchtime peak hours. After some thought, I ordered the "Mixed Tenderloin and Loin Cutlet Set". First, they served the sauce, potato salad, pickles, and dressing. After a short wait, the meal arrived. I started with a sip of miso soup, which was delicious. The salad with dressing was next, a veggie first. I squeezed some mustard on the plate and tried a piece of tenderloin, which was tender and refreshing. Then I tried a piece of loin, which seemed a bit less fatty but had a good texture. As I continued to enjoy the tonkatsu, I had seconds of salad and miso soup. Once I finished, I was pleasantly full. Thank you for the meal! *Rice, miso soup, and salad are all-you-can-eat.

Freshly fried pork cutlet is delicious! My recommendation is to put plenty of sesame in the sauce and eat it. I was able to get a second serving of cabbage at just the right timing, and I was completely satisfied with a full stomach even during the day! It's consistently delicious!

Attracted by the oyster fry, we visited the restaurant. My wife ordered fillet cutlet and oyster fry, while I chose shrimp fry, crab cream croquette (my favorite), and oyster fry. Along with sauce and tartar sauce, pickles and potato salad arrived first, so we waited while toasting with a bottle of Ebisu beer. It was nice that a small snack (a small bag of Kaki-Pi) came with the alcohol. The freshly fried dishes were crispy and hot, and we enjoyed sharing the fillet cutlet and shrimp fry. Fried foods are definitely best enjoyed at specialty shops. The elderly female staff and the man who seemed to be an employee were both kind, making the atmosphere pleasant. Thank you for the meal.

Tonkatsu, tonkatsu at KYK♪ It's so crispy and delicious. The restaurant has taken measures against COVID-19 by spacing out the seating and providing trays that are not in use. I noticed this the last time I visited. The secret sauce from the restaurant is so tasty, but at home, I usually eat tonkatsu with a sweet sauce and mayonnaise. I was thinking of asking for some mayonnaise, but I felt a bit awkward. Then, I suddenly realized that it was already there! I should have noticed earlier. It says to ask the condiment staff for it. Next time, I'll definitely request it.

It's been a while since I visited Namba. Due to the self-restraint lifestyle, I returned to my parents' home in Hyogo after four months. I decided to have dinner on the way back and was excited about what to eat. I was craving for tonkatsu, which I hadn't had in a long time. I was quickly drawn into the restaurant. They had hand sanitizer at the entrance, and I made sure to disinfect before entering. The seating arrangement ensured social distancing, with trays placed on each table as markers. I ordered the hirekatsu, which was tender and delicious. The secret sauce was also tasty. I wanted to add a little mayonnaise, but I resisted the temptation. They offered additional shredded vegetables and unlimited rice. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied.

After seeing the Namba Parks illumination, we headed to the Midosuji illumination. In between, we tried to find a place for dinner. The restaurant we wanted to go to was about to close. Oh no, what a disappointment. We had to look for another place. Maybe something simple at Namba City. Let's go and check it out! It was almost full, but we managed to get a seat just in time. The meal, miso soup, vegetables, and free refills were a pleasant surprise. I had the mixed tenderloin and loin cutlet set for ¥1380, while my partner had the Ryukyu pork loin cutlet set for ¥1480. I chose brown rice. The loin cutlet was incredibly tender and delicious. The tenderloin cutlet was also refreshing and tasty. The Ryukyu pork loin cutlet had a good texture and flavor. It was thicker than a regular loin cutlet. The side of the cutlet had a wooden sign that said "Ryukyu Pork". The cutlets were so delicious that we ended up asking for a second serving of rice. It took a while for the rice to arrive, but we eventually got it. Overall, we were satisfied and full after enjoying the consistent and delicious tonkatsu at this longstanding restaurant.

When in Kansai, you'll hear the phrase "tonkatsu, tonkatsu, KYK" in TV commercials. The tonkatsu here is not the juicy type, but more on the lighter side. The meat is tender but not very fatty. Even the tonjiru (pork soup) was the same way (lol). Maybe it's more geared towards women than men? Of course, it was delicious as usual. What I liked was the free refills of cabbage, which turned into a vegetable salad after refilling. You can choose between brown rice and white rice. The prices were not as high as I imagined, with tax included. And there was a cute waitress who looked like a small doll! (lol) #tonkatsu #KYK #TVcommercial #cute waitress
