The location is great, just a 1-minute walk from Morinomiya Station on the JR Loop Line, making it very convenient to visit. The interior of the restaurant is clean and you can relax while dining. The staff are friendly, but they don't come to the tables very often, so sometimes you may find leftover seaweed crumbs or wet spots from water or sauce left by the previous customers that you'll need to clean up yourself. Also, it's a shame that the background music in the restaurant is J-POP; it would be nice if they played jazz or classical music instead.

I came to Matsuya to eat their limited quantity curry. This curry is so good that I want to eat it again! It's slightly spicy, so even people who don't like spicy food should be able to enjoy it. I like that it comes in a separate dish. I used the app this time, so it was a good deal. Thank you for the meal!

I came to eat because they have a limited-time menu, sauce-grilled pork cutlet bowl. I wonder if pork cutlet bowls without egg topping are trending this year? It's lighter than the usual sauce pork cutlet bowl because the cutlet isn't fried. Matsuya, Morinomiya store, Osaka City, Osaka, Japan.

I didn't really feel like going to Matsuya, but they offered to give me 100 yen off if I ordered a drink, so I decided to go for it. I had a bottled beer and the beef yakiniku set, and the service was fast and the quality was good. It's a chain restaurant so I didn't expect it to be bad, but it was really delicious. I'll definitely go back when I'm short on time.

Located right by Morinomiya Station, there is a Matsuya restaurant. I visited before 8:00 AM on a weekday and there were quite a few customers! The breakfast set meal starts at 390 yen. You can choose from side dishes like natto, cold tofu, and gyudon. I chose the gyudon! The portion of rice was quite big, but I managed to finish it all. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

PCR testing from early morning. It was for an upcoming appointment in a few days, so I hope for a negative result. (It was actually negative) It's better not to eat or drink before the test, so I had breakfast after the test. Since there weren't many open shops, I chose Matsuya. The store was clean and reassuring. I ordered rice, miso soup, raw egg, and a small beef bowl. A typical breakfast at a beef bowl restaurant. Normally, I eat breakfast in a hurry, but on this day, I took my time. It's truly a luxury to be able to use time luxuriously.

Title "Osaka with Seishun 18 Ticket in January 2021 Part 8, Curry! Curry for Breakfast!?"
On the final day of the Seishun 18 Ticket trip in January 2021, I started my day with a plan to visit Osaka Castle in the morning. As I arrived at Shinimamiya Station, I was contemplating where to have breakfast when I noticed Matsuya restaurant. It seemed like a good choice, so I decided to try their morning set menu with "Choice Curry."
~Entering the restaurant~
I arrived at around 8:30 am on a Sunday, and there were 3 other customers and about 2 staff members in the small restaurant. Despite the limited space, the turnover seemed quick, so there was no need to worry about waiting in line.
"W Select Egg Rice Set" - What's included?
Rice, Miso soup, Egg (choice of raw or soft-boiled), Choice of side dish (mini curry)
When analyzing the individual prices, the rice with miso soup would cost 160 yen, the egg 70 yen, and the mini curry 100 yen, totaling 330 yen. However, the morning set was priced at 290 yen, offering a good deal for breakfast.
Served in 1 minute! Rating out of 10 points:
Rice: 6 points
Miso Soup: 3 points
Soft-boiled Egg: 5 points
Curry: 9 points
Overall impression: Satisfied with the 290 yen breakfast! Matsuya's morning menu has evolved in a surprising way. I might visit Matsuya more often in the future.
After enjoying the breakfast, I visited Osaka Castle and the Osaka Museum of History, leaving me with plenty of time to spare. I walked back to Shinimamiya for lunch. (January 10, 2021)

After leaving Yuraku, I still had a bit of a craving. My usual routine (laughs). Yes, it's Gyudon time (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))♡ I visited Matsuya Morinomiya store (^ω^) It was past 8 pm and there were quite a few customers. First, I bought a meal ticket. ◼️ Mini Gyudon for 280 yen. The customer in front of me was getting a takeout order, so my Gyudon arrived in about 2 minutes. I was happy to see that Matsuya includes miso soup with the meal (o^^o) I added pickled ginger and shichimi pepper, and devoured it immediately \(//∇//)\ Thank you for the meal.

Located along Tamatsukuri-suji near JR Morinomiya Station on the west side.
▼About the Restaurant▼
Matsuya was founded by a founder who was impressed by the taste of Yoshinoya and developed their own chain, becoming one of the largest chains in the gyudon (beef bowl) category. They focus on gyudon, set meals, and curry to differentiate themselves from other chains, offering unique services like miso soup with their rice bowls.
▼Menu▼
Their menu includes gyudon, curry, beef yakiniku set meals, and seasonal limited-time dishes. For more details, please visit their website.

▽Sokuseki Beef Curry (Regular) 490 yen
This curry, a popular menu item from the early days of the restaurant, has been revived and added to the regular menu. It is a flavorful curry with beef belly meat simmered to perfection, offering a balance of spices and meaty goodness. The miso soup on the side is a nice touch.
▼Impressions▼
Matsuya is a popular chain known for their gyudon, set meals, and curry offerings. They have expanded their menu beyond just gyudon, offering seasonal limited-time dishes and providing services like miso soup with their gyudon. The Morinomiya branch is conveniently located right by JR Morinomiya Station along Tamatsukuri-suji. I tried the Sokuseki Beef Curry this time, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The meat was well-incorporated into the curry, creating a tasty and satisfying dish. It's nice to try something different from their usual breakfast set meals or gyudon once in a while.

I went shopping at a nearby supermarket and home center. It was not just a construction site style, but also had a pet corner upstairs, making the store wide-ranging. The store is really large, so shopping there made me quite hungry! That's when I found a Matsuya on the way back to the station. I like to put French dressing on both the beef bowl and the side salad. This acidity enhances the flavor of the beef! The fact that you can order from a ticket machine and leave right after eating is also appealing. Thank you for the meal.

[2019.08.17] I arrived at Morinomiya Piloti Hall around 11:30 to have lunch before the event. I decided to use the restaurant thinking it would be empty on a Saturday before 11 am, but there were already quite a few customers inside. I purchased a meal ticket for "Original Curry (regular) with Potato Salad Set for 500 yen" from the ticket machine. Buying the curry and potato salad separately would have cost 40 yen more. The curry had a richer flavor compared to a certain curry chain's watery curry. The set for just 500 yen may be a good deal.

The old man loves alcohol. Naturally, he often gets drunk. Compared to the past, he drinks less now. But as a result, his body is also weakening. When he drinks, he tends to sleep a lot. It's a pathetic story, but it happens. Sometimes, after drinking heavily, he falls asleep in the train or at the bar. The other day, he got drunk and fell asleep on the train, waking up at Morinomiya Station. There were no more trains, so he reluctantly stopped by Matsuya in front of the station. Even though he wasn't really hungry, he decided to eat a beef bowl. It was delicious, especially with the free miso soup that came with it. Eating a beef bowl late at night was a treat, but it made him feel tired the next day. Well, it's his own fault! Try Matsuya during the day instead of late at night!

Good morning, afternoon, and evening, it's Tabetaro. I saw the popular Cheese Taccarbi on the Matsuya website and wanted to try it, so I went to Matsuya Morinomiya branch. I bought a meal ticket at the ticket machine and entered the store. I was quickly served. I chose the Potato Salad set because vegetables are expensive these days. The Cheese Taccarbi consisted of chicken thigh meat, onions, carrots, and cabbage mixed in a spicy sauce, topped with cheese. Unfortunately, the cheese was too hard as it had been microwaved too long. However, the chicken and sauce were very delicious, exceeding my expectations. It had a good spicy flavor that paired well with the rice. I opted for the free extra rice due to the generous portion of the meal. The cost performance was good as there was plenty of food. As I left, I saw a banner outside the store mentioning that the cheese should be gooey, which would have been even better. But overall, I'm satisfied because I could eat it.

(Shishiodoshi) Kon!! I was able to recite it well. Matsuya has been collaborating Yamagata dashi and gyudon for a limited time menu. And finally, a new menu was released on August 9th. "Sanshoku Don" (580 yen) features tuna, Yamagata dashi, and grated yam on top of rice in vibrant colors. Wasabi soy sauce is used to enhance the flavor. There is nothing special about the tuna and grated yam. However, the crucial point is that the cucumber ratio in Yamagata dashi is too high. It's like a commercial from the Showa era in the 80s. ♪ Takasugi~ Takasugiiiiii, Takasugii~ka~!!! (of course, using a musical instrument - vibraslap). The way to make Yamagata dashi is to finely chop cucumber, eggplant, myoga, leeks, and green shiso, mix them together. The key is the use of natto kombu and agar kombu, which when soaked in water, creates the sticky texture of Yamagata dashi. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Matsuya chain restaurant near JR Morinomiya Station on the Osaka Loop Line and Morinomiya Station on the Chuo Line around 3 pm on a weekday. I hadn't eaten anything all day since I took the Shinkansen from Shin-Yokohama to Osaka around 7 am and had meetings until around 3 pm. By that time, I was beyond hungry and didn't feel like eating anything, but I decided to stop by and have a little something. The interior of the restaurant was quite clean and had a sense of hygiene. There were both counter seats and table seats available. When I entered around 3 pm, there was only one other person inside. As soon as I entered, there was a ticket machine where I purchased a mini gyudon for 230 yen. I was glad that they offered a mini size. It came with a miso soup as well. The portion was just right, so I was very satisfied. I finished my meal in about 2 minutes and headed to my next appointment. I would like to visit again in the future.

I often use Matsuya for breakfast. This time, I used it for dinner because it was close to my accommodation. I ordered the ginger pork set meal with plenty of side dishes and a raw egg. Matsuya has recently introduced touch panel ticket machines, which have become much easier to use. However, there are still some stores with button-operated ticket machines. The food was served quickly and it was a reliable and safe set meal. Personally, I also enjoy hotel buffets for breakfast, but I prefer Matsuya's morning set meal. Thank you for the meal.
