Visited for lunch on a holiday. The restaurant had only two customers. I sat at a table and ordered the lunch set, even on a holiday. I had the lunch set with tempura and grated yam over rice. It took some time because they were short-staffed. I ordered a bottled beer to enjoy while waiting. The lunch set included tempura, udon, and rice, so it naturally took time to prepare. The udon noodles were thin and flat, but decent. The dishes were well-prepared and didn't feel like they were made from pre-packaged ingredients. They are doing a great job at this price point. It was a good udon restaurant. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The place I wanted to go was closed, so I decided to try the udon restaurant I had been curious about. It seemed to be run by an elderly couple, and there were local office workers having lunch there. The place was cozy and the owner managed both the dining area and kitchen alone, so it took a bit of time to get served, but they were attentive. The flat udon noodles came in a generous portion! For lunch, they serve it with grated yam and tempura, so it's quite a filling meal. Make sure to go there on an empty stomach!

Bukkake udon with grated yam rice, chikuwa tempura, and a little bit of shiitake mushroom tempura for 800 yen. The udon noodles were flat and smooth, very delicious. The lunch set includes a choice of udon with chikuwa tempura, along with a little bit of shiitake mushroom tempura, and a choice of rice, egg over rice, or grated yam rice. All of this for 800 yen is a great deal. The owner was managing the place alone and seemed quite busy. Not sure if it was just that day or always, but their hard work came through and made me want to support them.

"Udon-dokoro Fukukura" is a place where you can enjoy high-quality udon at a reasonable price. The atmosphere inside the restaurant, with its log chairs and tables, is very pleasant. They are open for lunch on weekdays and offer great set menus. On weekends, they also open for dinner, where you can enjoy individual menu items as well. I had the bukkake udon with chikuwa tempura and a choice of rice with raw egg. The tempura was large and delicious, with options like shishito peppers and mushrooms. The raw egg for the rice was a special red yolk egg. The udon options include kake, bukkake, and soy sauce. The udon itself was a flat type, similar to hirauchi, with a nice chewy texture. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would like to try their hot udon next time.

✨Osaka Kita-ku Tenroku Udon Lunch✨ The udon here is like kishimen style, smooth and chewy, and incredibly delicious. The udon is made fresh to order, so it may take a little time, but the freshly made udon is really tasty. The lunch set includes this delicious udon (bukkake, nama-joyu, kake, choice of hot or cold), tasty chikuwa tempura, and rice (white rice, tororo rice, egg over rice) for only 800 yen, which is a great deal. The udon is delicious, and the freshly fried chikuwa tempura, egg, and white rice are all tasty as well. The owner, who is mostly working alone, provides excellent and attentive service despite being busy, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant is located on the first floor of UR Riverside building 1, a little far from Tenroku Station. I'm happy to have discovered another udon shop that I will definitely visit again.✨(^_^) #DeliciousUdon #LunchSetUdon #GreatValue #Osaka Kita-ku Nagara Higashi #UdonDokoro Fukukura #Tenjinbashi-suji Roku-chome Station #SmoothAndChewy #FriendlyService #TenrokuUdon

Recently, my favorite is the chilled dipping noodles. I had it as a lunch set menu this time, where you can choose from three options: dipping noodles, noodles in broth, or raw soy sauce noodles (hot or cold), with a side of rice, egg over rice, or grated yam over rice, and even a piece of fish cake tempura, all for 700 yen. I chose the chilled dipping noodles with an extra topping of plum (+150 yen) and the rice was grated yam over rice. I enjoyed a bottled beer while waiting. When the tray was served, I was pleasantly surprised to find a shiitake mushroom tempura on top! The portion size here is quite generous, as I noticed the person who came after me ordered a smaller portion. The chilled dipping noodles were delicious, and I also tried a bit of the raw soy sauce noodles, which were also tasty. If you ever find yourself in the Temmabashi area, I recommend stopping by this place. There are many other delicious restaurants in this area as well. I still have more places to explore, so I will continue trying new spots!

In the bustling food and beverage battleground of Osaka's Kita Ward, with Umeda at the forefront and areas like Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street and Temma nearby, there is a wonderful udon restaurant hidden at the northernmost edge of the ward. Located on the first floor of a few shops along UR Riverside, this place is a gem. On this particular day, I decided to skip the lunch set (which is quite a good deal at 700 yen) as it was my second stop for lunch. I ordered the Cold Bukkake Udon for 600 yen. They promptly served cold tea, which was much appreciated. The udon noodles were freshly boiled, so it took a bit of time. The bukkake udon came topped with grated daikon radish, ginger, shiso leaf, lemon, bonito flakes, and tempura mushrooms, looking delicious. The flat and chewy noodles had a great texture and were very tasty. The portion was satisfying, and the broth was delicious. This place is located in an area where it could easily become popular, and I honestly think it deserves to be. I highly recommend this delicious udon restaurant!

This year's "Golden Week special update" will be from April 29th to May 8th, exactly 10 days. The number of daily updates remains the same as usual, but... Introducing the Golden Week special 30 posts. Golden Week special 30 posts, number 16: "Udon Restaurant Fukukura" (Osaka, Tenjinbashi Rokuchome). I ordered the lunch set for 700 yen, which included bukkake cold udon with grilled skewered fish cake and rice. Udon noodles like these with a chewy texture are just the best, right? Compared to the tough and hard noodles from a certain other shop the other day, this is definitely much better.

Located in Nagara Higashi, the northernmost part of Kita Ward in Osaka, is a quiet udon restaurant run by an elderly male owner on the ground floor of the Riverside Nagara 1 building, a high-rise residential complex managed by UR along the Yodo River. Upon entering the cozy space with log chairs and wooden tables, you are greeted by the elderly owner. The recommended lunch set includes udon, chikuwa tempura, and your choice of tororo or egg rice for 700 yen including tax. Of course, individual udon dishes (ranging from 500 yen) are also available, as well as tororo rice (250 yen) and egg rice (250 yen). The selected Wakame Udon comes with four pieces of long yam tempura and plenty of seaweed spread out for 600 yen including tax. The noodles, made from domestic wheat, have a slightly softer texture than before, but still offer a decent flavor. The subtle and gentle dashi soup typical of Osaka pairs well with the seaweed and long yam tempura, making for a delicious udon dish. I was told that the restaurant had been closed for many years but reopened in March 2021. The owner's greetings and service were pleasant, making it a delightful lunch experience once again. A bit further west, there is a super sento called "Naniwa no Yu," about a 13-minute walk from Tenjinbashisuji Rokuchome Station. Although it may be a bit far, I recommend visiting this udon restaurant for its domestic wheat and homemade noodles, along with the residents of Riverside Nagara. The udon dishes are reasonably priced, ranging from 500 yen to 700 yen including tax. Since the wait for the food was quite long, I suggest visiting with some extra time rather than in a hurry.

Located in Nagara Higashi, the northernmost part of Kita-ku, Osaka, is a hidden gem on the first floor of the Riverside Nagara 1 building, managed by a friendly veteran owner. I visited on a sunny afternoon in October, entering the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu offers six types of udon, as well as lunch sets and various toppings. The owner recommended the lunch set, which includes a choice of udon, chikuwa tempura, tororo (grated yam), and egg rice. I chose the bukkake udon (cold) with tororo rice, which took some time to prepare. The meal was served with tororo, white rice, bukkake udon, and chikuwa tempura. The udon had a flat shape with a soft yet slightly chewy texture, made from domestic wheat. The balance of grated yam, green onions, bonito flakes, and broth was excellent. The chikuwa tempura was crispy, and the tororo rice was delicious. The lunch set was priced at 700 yen, offering great value for money. The owner mentioned that the restaurant had reopened in March 2021 after a long hiatus. The personal touch of the elderly owner added to the charm of the place. I recommend this restaurant to those in the neighborhood or visiting the area for its delicious udon made from domestic wheat. Prices range from 500 to 700 yen for udon dishes. Be prepared to wait a bit for your order, so visit when you have time to spare and enjoy a leisurely meal.

The udon noodles are thin and flat, similar to kishimen or the old Donbei instant noodles. It was delicious, especially the mushroom tempura and chikuwa. They offer free extra servings, which is great. The only downside is that the restaurant is a bit hidden and a little far from the station, so it's not easily found on food review websites like Tabelog.
