After leaving Onokoro Gou, we headed to Nagahama district, specifically to Nagahama food stalls. The food stalls had suffered a setback at one point, but recently made a comeback with about 5-6 stalls, so we wanted to show our support and decided to visit. We chose a place that was featured on a late-night gourmet TV show called "Gokkun Tabearuki". There were four of us in our group, and we were seated by squeezing in between other customers. The menu mainly focused on dishes with mentaiko (spicy cod roe). We started with grilled mentaiko (1 skewer), a simple dish that went well with alcohol. Then we tried the mentaiko rolled omelette, which was also delicious with drinks. We also had the mentaiko cheese rolls (in sets of 2 skewers), and the mentaiko pork belly lettuce wraps, which the staff recommended as a must-try dish. It may look small in the photo, but it was quite substantial, with plenty of lettuce which was appreciated by the ladies. We also ordered the yam mentaiko teppanyaki. For our last dish, we had the grilled ramen. This place is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy Fukuoka's specialty mentaiko in abundance, especially for those from outside the prefecture!

Nagahama's "Mentaiko Addiction" reopened on June 5th with the revival of the "Nagahama Yatai Street" in Fukuoka. Fukuoka's famous yatai (food stalls) have a long history dating back to the Edo period. There were originally 95 stalls in Fukuoka, but now there are 107 stalls. Personally, I am happy to see the yatai culture thriving. The yatai are lined up on the street of the Nagahama Central Wholesale Market. "Mentaiko Addiction" is the first yatai specializing in mentaiko (spicy cod roe). It is a shop created by mentaiko lovers for mentaiko lovers. The most popular dish is the "Mentaiko Tororo Nabe" and it was delicious. They also have interesting menu items like Mentaiko Aglio Olio, as well as one-bite gyoza and grilled chicken skin.
