Maru Hachi Sushi Set @ Tenroku Has a nice local sushi restaurant vibe♪̊̈♪̆̈ Opens at 11am? Dad was already hanging the noren curtain, but there were customers inside (*´∀`) 2 groups of customers already seated, no one behind us The dad, mom, and son were running the place The son seemed to be in charge They unexpectedly brought out pickled ginger before serving the sushi Ginger goes well with shochu, right? The sushi was decent, I guess(^^) #Sushi #Shochu #MaruHachiSushi #NigiriSushi #TenrokuGourmet #TenrokuLunch

In March of the 4th year of Reiwa, during lunchtime (11:30-14:00), I had the nigiri sushi set for 800 yen, which includes 7 pieces of nigiri sushi, inari sushi, and red miso soup. Personally, I found the sushi to lack harmony between the toppings and rice, making it somewhat disappointing.

I visited a sushi restaurant near Tenjinbashi Rokuchome with a friend and we sat at the counter. It had a traditional atmosphere run by an elderly couple. We ordered a lunch set with 8 pieces of sushi, which came with a generous amount of rice. The sushi itself was average and nothing particularly special, but the value for money was excellent. We enjoyed a beer with our meal and noticed many customers coming in for takeout during the busy lunch hour. It seemed like a neighborhood sushi restaurant that locals frequent.

This place is very good, unpretentious, humble, and it beautifully combines the Showa, Heisei, and now Reiwa eras. I am proud to have found this restaurant as a resident of Temma. Sorry if this is late.

I went to "Maru Hachi Sushi" near Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station on the Osaka Metro. The tent has the name "Sushi" written on it. But the illuminated signboard has the name "Maru Hachi Sushi" on it. There are various ways to write "sushi" in Japanese, such as "寿司", "すし", "鮨", "鮓". I ordered the "Nigiri Sushi Set" (700 yen). I recently noticed that there are many sushi restaurants in this area where you can eat for less than 1,000 yen. It came with red miso soup. The fish had a good amount of meat attached to the backbone and was delicious. I had one inari sushi and 7 pieces of nigiri sushi, but the rice portions were large, so I was satisfied. The restaurant is actually located in Kokubunji, not Tenjinbashi. I thought it was near Tenjinbashi 7. The name of the restaurant is also written as "Maru Hachi Sushi" and "Maru Hachi Sushi".

As soon as I left the 5th exit of Temmabashi Rokuchome Station, I arrived here. I visited right at the opening. I ordered the lunch menu's chirashi sushi. Now, time to eat! The chirashi sushi was surprisingly generous in portion! It had a variety of toppings like yellowtail, shrimp, and tuna, all very fresh and colorful. The taste was excellent, surpassing its price. The miso soup was also satisfying. Overall, a great meal! For 700 yen, the quality was impressive. However, the interior of the restaurant showed its age and lacked cleanliness. Well, that might be expected in the Temma area.

There really is nothing to complain about in a place like this. The 77-year-old owner, his wife, and their son work hard together. I used to live in nearby Hinokuchi-cho about 50 years ago, so I remember coming to this restaurant "Maru Hachi Sushi" when I was a child, accompanied by my grandfather. Back then, there were 4-5 sushi restaurants lined up next to Maru Hachi Sushi, but now this restaurant stands alone, fighting a lonely battle. How wonderful it is. The sushi here is made with large pieces of fish and traditional sushi rice. I wonder how they can keep up with these prices. The owner and his wife are friendly and talkative. You can quickly come in, grab some sushi, eat it quickly, and leave. It feels good to leave the restaurant with a smile. Sushi restaurants like this are really rare these days. Keep up the good work, Maru Hachi Sushi!

"Maruhachi Sushi" on a weekday lunchtime. I decided to go out for sushi near Temma Station. I tried going to "Harukoma," but it was closed on Tuesdays. Across the street, "Sushi Matsuri" was also crowded, so I looked it up on my smartphone and decided to visit this nearby restaurant. The location is right by exit 5 of Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station. The retro exterior adds a nice touch. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted warmly by the owners. The lunch menu offers two options: "Nigiri Sushi Set @700 yen" and "Chirashi Sushi Set @700 yen." I opted for the "Nigiri Sushi Set @700 yen." The owner prepared the sushi right in front of me and served it promptly. The set included maguro, squid, octopus, boiled shrimp, hamachi, eel, inari, and tamago, all with a generous cut of fish. Each piece was large and delicious, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the owner. Even simple ingredients tasted exceptional when prepared by a sushi chef. The sushi had a distinct Osaka-style charm and was truly delicious. I was also served "Akadashi" soup, which complemented the sushi well. Despite initially feeling a bit skeptical about the portion size, I ended up feeling pleasantly full and satisfied. When I arrived, the restaurant was empty, but by the time I left, it was bustling with regular customers enjoying their meals. It seems like a place loved by locals. I enjoyed the experience of dining at a casual sushi restaurant like this. Next time, I might try enjoying sushi with some drinks. Thank you for the delicious meal!"

While I was wandering around on Sunday, I found a sushi restaurant and decided to check it out! It had a traditional, cozy atmosphere that seemed to be beloved by the locals. Inside, there was a small, L-shaped counter - a bit cramped, but I actually liked the vibe. I ordered the 1200 yen assorted sushi plate, which included tuna, squid, shrimp, octopus, tuna roll, clam, yellowtail, shrimp, and eel. The pieces of sushi were all quite large! The soy sauce was the traditional brush-on type, and the wasabi was just right. They even served a tasty red miso soup halfway through the meal! The restaurant had a small TV where local families, including children, would watch and laugh together - it felt very homely. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

At noon in Tenjinbashi Rokuchome, I entered a sushi restaurant right after coming out of the subway station. It was located on the east side of a street next to a tower mansion. I decided on the 700 yen nigiri sushi set after looking at the sign outside the store. Inside, there were two men working, an elderly man and a young man, who seemed to be a father and son. I quickly ordered the nigiri sushi set. The young man served me tea in a large teacup. The counter was in a horseshoe shape, and on the other side, an elderly couple was enjoying chirashi sushi. A woman who arrived later ordered by looking at the sushi case on the counter. The nigiri sushi exceeded my expectations with large and delicious toppings. The red miso soup, which had yellowtail fish, was delicious. The shrimp, inari sushi, were quite tasty. The inari sushi was sweet and delicious with a large fried tofu pouch. The yellowtail and tuna had a good thickness and were delicious. I found a sushi restaurant in the downtown area. By the time I finished eating, the mother came down from the second floor. She kindly brought the bill and saw me off. Thank you for the meal. Nigiri Sushi Set 700 yen Closed on Wednesdays Business hours 11:30-23:30 Number of seats 19

I visited the son-in-law's favorite sushi restaurant in Tenma for a second round of drinks. We ended the night with sushi. While usually going to the sushi street, this place in Tenroku is also a good option. It is located on the east side of the Tenroku Tower Mansion. The interior has a counter in a U-shape, and they serve soy sauce with a brush. It reminded me of the sushi restaurants my family used to go to when I was a child. You can order while looking at the fish through the glass from the counter. We ordered some sake and grilled fish as a side dish, then enjoyed various types of sushi such as eel, salmon, sea bream, conger eel, and horse mackerel. The conger eel was especially delicious. While we were eating, a few neighbors came in to order takeout, which made us feel like this is a neighborhood favorite. I brought back a souvenir for my daughter. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On March 11, 2016 (Friday), I was in the mood for sushi so I decided to visit a sushi restaurant. The location is two streets east from the 6th intersection of Tenjinbashi-suji, near Resona Bank. I arrived at 12:20 PM and there were 6 customers already inside. When we entered, the owner and his wife disagreed on where to seat us, giving me a bad feeling. I ordered the "Chirashi Sushi Set: 700 yen" and it arrived in about 10 minutes, silently placed on the counter without a word. The food included a variety of toppings like tuna, yellowtail, octopus, squid, shrimp, and eel, all generously sized and delicious. The red miso soup was also tasty, but served scalding hot! My companion had the "Nigiri Sushi Set: 700 yen (8 pieces)" which seemed a bit lacking in quantity. The restaurant had a retro Showa-era vibe with a TV showing a wide show program. It has been exactly 5 years since the Tohoku earthquake, let's remember the victims. The restaurant had a small counter with a few seats and the service was a bit lacking, which is a shame considering how good the food was. Smoking is allowed, which is unfortunate given the small space.

Hidden away just a short walk north of Tenroku, this sushi restaurant is run by a lovely couple from the Showa era. Despite being located on a fairly wide street, it somehow manages to blend in and remain inconspicuous, which adds to its charm. While tourists and inbound visitors tend to flock to the sushi restaurants in Tenroku, this place has yet to be discovered by that crowd, creating a pleasantly quiet atmosphere. The warm sushi served here is not only in reference to the temperature of the food, but also to the welcoming aura exuded by the couple. Sometimes, the rice might even be a bit warmer than usual, but it only adds to the character of the place. The charm of a restaurant truly lies in its quirks. I've been to places where you pay a fortune for a set menu and a few drinks, but the quality here surpasses them all. As the saying goes, you eat the appetizers based on the atmosphere, and you drink the sake based on the atmosphere, and this place really embodies that sentiment. No need for precise measurements with the shochu on the rocks; just fill the glass generously. This is the kind of old-school establishment that may not be around for much longer, so I recommend visiting sooner rather than later. Enjoy ☺︎
