Good evening. I am Kozue, a beauty acupuncturist. The other day, I went to an okonomiyaki restaurant in Kyoto. The place I visited this time was called Arata. The restaurant was very busy with customers. I ordered the recommended dishes from the staff. Sukiyaki for 984 yen + Teppanyaki for 984 yen, Hormone Mix Yaki for 957 yen, Osaka Yaki with Squid, and Modern Yaki with Cheese and Mochi. The Hormone Mix Yaki was delicious with plenty of vegetables and meat cooked sweet and savory. The Sukiyaki was simple, seasoned with salt and stir-fried to a crispy texture, mixed with green onions. It had a good chewy texture and tasted better the more you chew, making it a perfect side dish for alcohol. The Osaka Yaki with squid was like a fluffy pancake with squid, and the combination of the soft dough and squid was great. The okonomiyaki with soba noodles that my friend wanted to eat had her favorite mochi and cheese in it, so she was very happy. Mochi and cheese go well with okonomiyaki. It was very delicious and we were full by the end. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant for dinner during a business trip. I'm glad I made a reservation, as by 7:00 PM the place was already full and there was a line forming. The okonomiyaki here (Arata-yaki) is a perfect match with beer. Unlike typical okonomiyaki, the batter is thin and light. The topping of sweet and savory beef tendons on top goes really well with beer. I also tried the eggplant pizza, which was indeed like a mock pizza. It felt like eating a super healthy (?) pizza. If this restaurant was near my office, I would definitely be a regular customer. Thank you for the meal.

I had dinner here today. I thought it would be nice to have okonomiyaki while drinking in Kyoto for the first time since I was a student. I visited this restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. I enjoyed drinking and had a mix of suji-yaki and teppanyaki, as well as a delicious betayaki arata okonomi. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after making a reservation the day before. I was seated at the counter, where I could watch the staff cooking, which was enjoyable. The way they drizzled the sauce and mayonnaise on the ingredients was amazing, just on top without spilling over. We ordered too much, including grilled fish, grilled chicken, garlic shoots stir-fry, and more, and ended up spending nearly 10,000 yen for two people, but we were satisfied. The flavors were generally strong, but the grilling was done perfectly so it wasn't greasy. As is typical of teppanyaki restaurants, when you leave the restaurant, your whole body (hair, clothes, etc.) will smell strongly, so be careful (laughs).

The second place to enjoy your Kyoto trip is this restaurant! Even though it was Obon season, we were able to get a table by calling ahead. The restaurant was bustling with students and foreigners, and had a nice traditional atmosphere. The specialty dish of grilled oil cake was delicious! Despite being a flour-based dish, it was light and easy to eat!

I missed another train on the way and walked south from JR Kyoto Station. Around 5:50 pm, the restaurant was about 80% full, but since there was a one-hour time limit, it was manageable. I was seated at the counter in the middle and had to order a drink. I ordered Oolong tea and the specialty Arata okonomiyaki (forgot to ask for no pickled ginger). The food was cooked efficiently and was delicious, especially the sweet and savory meat on top. The okonomiyaki had a spicy flavor. The Oolong tea was average. I paid 1950 yen in cash. I tried to go to Sweets WEST, but ended up wasting my time due to Kyoto's early closing time and missing two trains. My phone battery was also running out, so I gave up and headed back.

When you come, be sure to try the Hormone Mix, even though it's not on the menu. Also, try the Arata-yaki. Order a variety of dishes, drink and eat until you're full, and it will cost around 8,800 yen for two people. Whoever you bring here will be satisfied every time. It's a casual and delicious restaurant that is easy to use.

I visited this restaurant for a meeting and drinks with an acquaintance before heading back to Tokyo. The food was delicious and the service was great. We enjoyed dishes like sauce-based hormone and muscle mix, Arata special, okonomiyaki, Japanese-style yakisoba, and filled ourselves with carbs!

I visited during a late hour, so I was able to get in without waiting. However, since it's a popular place, it's better to make a reservation. Even if you don't understand the menu, the staff will kindly explain it to you, so it might be good to ask for their recommendations at first. The sauce for the grilled offal is delicious. I want to have this sauce.

I visited a popular okonomiyaki restaurant at Kyoto Toji for the first time. I made a reservation in advance and visited on a Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The restaurant is located in a residential area away from Kyoto Station. I ordered the Butatama okonomiyaki. The moist and fluffy texture of the batter was great! It was delicious!

During weekdays, there were no customers waiting at 21:56, but the restaurant was almost full. The food arrived at 22:09, and the last order was at 22:15. We left the restaurant at 22:30. It's about a 10-minute walk from Toji Station. The "Arata Yaki" dish costs ¥1628 and consists of soba, squid, fish cake, bean sprouts, cabbage on a base of dough, topped with green onions, crispy hormone, sweet and savory sauce, and mayonnaise. The combination of hormone, sauce, green onions, and mayonnaise is particularly good! It's delicious!

On a regular evening around 5:30 pm. The reservation was full, but managed to get a table until 7:30 pm. We ordered dishes such as "Negiyaki" for 1,188 yen with extra beef tendon for 220 yen, "Yakisoba" for 1,144 yen with extra pork loin for 330 yen, "Beef tendon and teppanyaki" for 984 yen each, "Garlic rice" for 1,386 yen, and "Meat and beef tendon okonomiyaki" for 1,474 yen. The standout dish was the "Negiyaki", a thin crepe-like pancake loaded with plenty of green onions. You can choose between soy sauce or sauce, but soy sauce is recommended as it is light and easy to eat alone. Topping it with beef tendon was the right choice. The "Yakisoba" had straight medium-thick noodles, giving it a nice crispy texture. The "Beef tendon and teppanyaki" were also delicious, cooked with a sweet sauce along with cabbage, bell peppers, and onions. Eating it with the "Garlic rice" made it even more delicious. Lastly, the "Meat and beef tendon okonomiyaki" with beef was a unique and tasty dish. Everything we ordered was a hit. Highly satisfied.

It's been a while since I had some delicious flour-based dishes, and #Okonomiyaki Arata in Kyoto is definitely not inferior to Osaka. The food at #ArataOkonomi is as delicious as ever, especially their unique Okonomiyaki with yakisoba inside, which is a must-try. And let's not forget the famous grilled beef jaw meat - the more you chew, the more delicious it gets, it's truly addictive. Also, the first time trying the Urute-yaki was incredibly delicious. Even though it's been a while since I last visited, Arata is still as tasty as ever. I will definitely come back here for drinks. A must-visit restaurant for delicious food. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I ordered the grilled fish and it was around 1700 yen. To be honest, I didn't like the taste because it was too strong and felt like junk food. It might appeal to people who enjoy that kind of flavor. Despite being a well-known restaurant, it felt like they were caught up in the busyness.

It had been a while since I visited Kyoto, so I decided to have dinner there. It was about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and I arrived right when the restaurant opened. They had various original dishes like "aratayaki". I ordered a few different dishes, and the staff were very kind and helpful, explaining the menu to me. The okonomiyaki had yakisoba noodles in it, which was different from the Hiroshima style but still delicious. Overall, the flavors were on the rich side. The other dishes cooked on the hot plate were also tasty. By the time I left, the restaurant was fully packed, so making a reservation seems necessary. The assorted horumon (offal) dish also seemed popular, but I couldn't try it due to the overall generous portion sizes.

The Shinkansen stopped running due to heavy rain, so I couldn't go home and ended up at this place recommended by Yoichi. I was alone, so I could get in without a reservation. The recommended meat was delicious, and the fluffy okonomiyaki went perfectly with beer. The cost performance was average, so whether I would go back again is up in the air.

Visited in early May 2023. I always noticed this bustling restaurant near AEON MALL KYOTO and finally got a reservation. We were seated on the second floor, toasted with bottled beer, and then placed our order. We snacked on kimchi and edamame while waiting, and the asparagus bacon dish arrived first. The asparagus was cooked perfectly! It was delicious. We ordered another beer and soon after, the much-awaited Arata okonomiyaki and shiitake butter were served. The Arata okonomiyaki was just amazing, with flavorful beef cheek meat, yakisoba, green onions, okonomiyaki batter, and mayo all harmonizing beautifully. It was a knockout. The shiitake butter was also incredibly tasty. Lastly, we had the beef cheek salt-grilled dish (sorry, I forgot the exact name) before paying the bill. We had some drinks as well, and the total for two came to just over 3000 yen. This restaurant is a must-visit for delicious teppanyaki dishes. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I traveled to Kyoto alone and visited this restaurant after researching it. I arrived after 5 pm and it was already crowded. I ordered salt-grilled cartilage and grilled leeks. I enjoyed them with a cold bottled beer. The salt-grilled cartilage on the hot plate was so delicious that it brought tears to my eyes. The grilled leeks had plenty of leeks and were satisfying. I had my travel bag with me, but the staff kindly took care of it, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant was constantly busy, so making a reservation might be a good idea! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The flavors are strong. The cost performance is a bit poor, haha. It has a junky feel. The arata-yaki is similar to Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, with thin dough, cabbage, bean sprouts, noodles, sweet and savory meat, and chikuwa. The agi-yaki is made from pork jaw and cheek meat, similar to tongue in toughness, salty, with a strong garlic flavor like aglio e olio. The scallop butter with straw is rich and delicious with 6-7 pieces. One highball for two people costs around 4000 yen.

Located on the south side of Kyoto Station, near the back of Aeon Mall. Finally made it to "Arata" as I had been wanting to. Waited for the 5 pm opening. It was a weekday and I was a bit careless, but as soon as they opened, there were customers with reservations! Managed to squeeze in for a limited one-hour table reservation (laughs). I think it's better to make a reservation before going! Had a bottle of beer and the "Arata Okonomi." The place was bustling with energy as soon as they opened. The Arata Okonomi arrived. It had been a while since I had okonomiyaki and it was delicious! It's a Kyoto-style okonomiyaki, different from both Osaka-style and Hiroshima-style. It's similar to Hiroshima-style but doesn't have as much cabbage. The meat in it, called "Agi," is unique. It's small but packed with flavor! Delicious! It's a perfect side dish for drinks. The portion size was just right. It was really tasty! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll try the "Agi Shioyaki" next time. I'll make sure to make a reservation (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

A group of friends from a certain club gathered in Kyoto to enjoy delicious okonomiyaki and flour-based dishes. We chose a place known for its tasty food and lined up before it even opened. The place quickly filled up with customers. I highly recommend the hormone okonomiyaki, especially the mixed one. You can choose your preferred sauce for the okonomiyaki. We ate way too much, but it was all so delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal! Much appreciated! ✨
