I wanted to eat Ebi-Ten Soba, but it turns out they don't serve it at this Toshoba branch. Apparently, they fry the Ebi-Ten in the store, which they don't do here. The location is prime, right in front of the station with many students around, so the place was crowded. It's a bit disappointing that they don't have Ebi-Ten Soba, but they do have Katsu Don.

都そば 長瀬店@東大阪市菱屋西 Located about a 1-minute walk from Nagase Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line in Higashi-Osaka City, there is a restaurant called "Miyako Soba Nagase Store". The day after spending the evening drinking with classmates, we visited two places in Uehonmachi High High Town, then sang our hearts out at a nearby karaoke, and eventually ended up at a snack bar in Hyotanayama run by another classmate, where we stayed until morning. It was a Sunday, and even though I wanted to sleep all day, we had another drinking party scheduled from 12 pm onwards. Feeling a bit peckish, we decided to stop by this place right in front of Nagase Station. The interior only had a single row of counters, which could accommodate about 7-8 people. There was no ticket machine, so we had to place our orders verbally. Apart from noodles, they also offered tempura, yakitori, and onigiri. It all looked so delicious, but we were still planning to continue drinking and eating later on. We ordered the Ginger Tempura Soba for 380 yen. After paying at the counter, we received our order. The ginger tempura was not thinly sliced but finely chopped and made into tempura. It had a slight crispy texture and a hint of sweet and sour flavor, which was delightful. The broth seemed to be a combination of bonito flakes and kelp, with a slightly strong soy sauce flavor that I personally enjoyed. The crunchy green onions added a nice touch. The noodles were the usual type that easily breaks when chewed, lacking the typical soba flavor, but it was perfect for a standing soba joint. Priced at 380 yen, you can't expect too much, and that's just fine. I finished the whole bowl in 3 minutes. Looking back, I realized that this was probably my first time trying Miyako Soba, even though I often eat standing soba. I checked on Tabelog and found out that there are 22 stores in Osaka, 14 in Hyogo, and 4 in Kyoto. Surprisingly, they haven't been successful in Nara and Wakayama. Maybe I had some sort of chain store allergy, which is why I hadn't noticed them before. But after trying the Ginger Tempura Soba, which was as good as any individual store, I'll definitely be using this place more often when I need a quick bite. Thank you for the meal. ▼Location▼ Located across from the Yaominami/Kokubu direction entrance/exit of Kintetsu Nagase Station, on the side facing Kondai Avenue. ▼About the Shop▼ This is a standing-style soba chain restaurant primarily located in the Kansai region, including the Keihanshin area. In addition to soba, they also serve udon and ramen, making it a casual and affordable standing-style dining option. ▼Menu▼ Various types of soba, udon, ramen, onigiri, and more. ▼Food Consumed▼ ▽Kumamoto Ramen 450 yen▽ (December 2018) The visually appealing Kumamoto Ramen features a milky white soup with the signature Ma-Yu oil. The soup is made using a rich pork bone base, flavored with Ma-Yu oil for a mild taste. The noodles are wavy and medium-thin, providing a smooth texture. The chashu is simple and factory-made, while the generous amount of bean sprouts complements the soup well. ▼Impressions▼ (December 2018) This standing-style soba chain is commonly found near stations in the Keihanshin area. While primarily serving soba and udon, they also offer ramen. The Nagase branch, located across from the Yaominami direction entrance/exit of Kintetsu Nagase Station, operates as a standing-only counter shop. I tried the Kumamoto Ramen out of curiosity and found it to be as expected, with a slightly more commercial feel than desired. I would be willing to try their miso ramen in the future for a different experience.

■This is a standing udon and soba shop with a sign of a shrimp tea curtain. It is right in front of the down line ticket gate at Nagase Station. It's a standing shop. ABC Radio was playing in the background as BGM.■Manabiya Street. Oh, this shopping street actually has a name. I've always called this street "The Unfilial Street of Konan University" ... I apologize.■A neatly organized kitchen. On the day, two mothers were running the business. At one point, one of the staff members said to the other staff member, "I'm going to Tokyo." and left... Still wearing an apron, empty-handed... There's no way they would go all the way to Tokyo dressed like that. It must be some kind of code word...■Payment is made by exchanging the product for money. Instead of a register, the money was put into a metal container on the table.****Food****■I had the tempura soba. The soup is a soy sauce flavor with kombu and bonito. The slightly soft-boiled soba goes well with it. The toppings are tempura, seasoned thin-fried tofu, and green onions. Considering the price, it's quite satisfying. It's pretty tasty. The condiment on the table is shichimi pepper. Menu: Kake udon/soba... ¥240 Tsukimi udon/soba... ¥310 Kizami udon/soba... ¥310 Oboro udon/soba... ¥310 Wakame udon/soba... ¥310 Kitsune udon... ¥310 Tanuki soba... ¥310 Tempura udon/soba... ¥310 Shoga tempura udon/soba... ¥350 Kakiage udon/soba... ¥370 Stamina udon/soba... ¥380 Agedama udon/soba... ¥380 Tororo udon/soba... ¥380 Kitsune oboro udon/soba... ¥380 Tosh Special udon/soba... ¥450 Duck udon/soba... ¥460 Meat udon/soba... ¥470 Curry udon/soba... ¥500 Tempura curry udon/soba... ¥570 Ramen... ¥400 2 Onigiri... ¥220 and so on...

Today is a holiday, so the cafeteria at Kinki University is closed. Since it's cold, I decided to go to "Miyako Soba" for a quick meal. There are three Miyako Soba locations on the way from my home to Nagase: "Tsuruhashi," "Fusae Station Front," and "Fusae Station 2nd." In my opinion, the broth at the Nagase location is the strongest. They only have one type of tempura because they don't fry it in the store. When I ordered tempura udon, the staff lady asked, "Would you like some onigiri as well?" as a sales pitch. I didn't really need it, but out of kindness, I ordered the onigiri. It seems like the onigiri has changed recently and is now handmade. It was quite firm. After me, a guy came in and the staff lady started making a meat and raw egg udon for him even before he ordered. That's quite a trusting relationship. It seems like he always eats meat and raw egg udon. He's quite the extravagant person.

Training for the group is over. Near Kintetsu Nagase Station, I was hungry and stopped for a moment. I locked eyes with the old lady inside, and her gaze drew me in. I ended up enthusiastically ordering "tempura udon" without even realizing it. When I went to pay, she glanced down and there was sushi staring back at me. "Oh! I'll take that too!" Surely, she must be a witch! Anyway, there are many "Udon" restaurants in Osaka, so I won't go into detail. The noodles of Osaka Udon are so soft that they remind me of Sanuki Udon. It's a taste that I crave once a month, perfect for a budget eater like me. I eat standing up here. This place is loved by both students from Kinki University and locals, continuing to prosper for about 30 years. I hope they continue to thrive. Thank you for the meal.

The location is right in front of Kintetsu Osaka Line Nagase Station. If you come from Tsuruhashi or Fuse direction, it's right in front of you as soon as you exit the ticket gate (across the street). The store is small, with only about 6 people being able to fit inside. Of course, it's a stand-up style. It's a chain store of Tsutsu Soba that can be found along private railway lines in Kansai. The taste is average for the price, but the unchanged style and cost performance are attractive. I often order the combination of tempura soba and onigiri. It's a good deal. Nearby, there are fast and cheap style restaurants like Matsuya (gyudon) and Osho, and you can see people lining up during lunchtime.
