Today, it's still hot. I had a set of cold udon noodles and inari sushi at Fuku Kitaru, a hand-made udon restaurant in front of JR Fushimi Station. The chewy noodles and juicy chicken tempura are delicious. Fuku Kitaru Handmade Udon, 76 Shibatayashiki-cho, Fukakusa, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

I knew this wasn't the "Koshinuke Udon" restaurant when I entered. The udon was delicious. However, I felt like the portion was a bit small. The pickled daikon radish was unnecessary. I wish they had provided wasabi. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you very much.

I arrived at the restaurant at 5:35 PM on Monday and there were no customers inside. After ordering, all the dishes arrived in 13 minutes. I ordered the following items: Black Wagyu Beef Curry Udon (large serving), Sakurajima Chicken Breast Tempura, Chikuwa Tempura, Sixteen-Grain Rice, and a bottle of beer. The curry udon and chicken tempura had a slightly strong flavor, but I don't mind strong or salty tastes so I enjoyed it. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The restaurant was more spacious inside than I had expected, and the tables were large and comfortable to sit at. I was able to get a free extra 1.5 servings, so I asked for that. I ordered the Fukukitaru Bukkake Udon, and the tempura was crispy and delicious. The noodles were smooth and had just the right firmness, making them very tasty.

Today, I came to Fukukitaru, a hand-made udon restaurant located right near Kintetsu Fushimi Station, because I saw online and was interested in trying their oily curry udon. While I am usually drawn to cold bukkake udon on hot days, I recommend trying their udon with a chewy texture and hot curry. Hand-made udon Fukukitaru, located at 76 Shibadashiya-cho, Fukakusa, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

I chose the popular Fukukitaru Bukkake udon. The udon noodles had a good chewy texture and were firm and delicious. I wished the broth had a bit more flavor and was a bit more plentiful as well. It seemed a little lacking whether eating it with tempura or on its own. The daikon radish topping made the broth towards the end a bit bland, so I would have preferred it to be richer. The shrimp tempura and chicken tempura were generous in portion but the batter was thick and tended to come off easily. The shrimp was ordinary, while the chicken had a well-seasoned flavor and was tasty. The meat with onions and burdock had a sukiyaki-like taste and was delicious. However, I personally felt that the tempura and meat did not go well with the udon, so I ended up eating them separately, thinking that it might have been better not to have them in the bukkake style. The udon itself was delicious, so it seemed a bit of a waste. I personally think having the tempura on a separate plate with zaru udon might be better. Not everything goes well together. The udon was easy to eat, and since I heard you can get a free extra serving, I thought it would be a good idea.

My partner and I finally got to visit the udon restaurant that my partner used to frequent during their student days. We were planning to go there again, and we finally made it. I thought udon was the best cure for a hangover, and when I looked at the menu, the curry udon was recommended, so I ordered it. It came with a generous serving of tempura, and it was delicious. The lotus root tempura side dish was also amazing. This meal added another happy memory with my partner.

For lunch today, I went to Fuku Taru, a hand-made udon restaurant in Fushimi. Curry udon is always delicious. When I go to a udon restaurant, I almost always choose curry. The udon here is chewy and very delicious, and on top of that, it comes with shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, and plenty of beef, all for the same price as a large serving of noodles at 1080 yen, which is a super deal. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Underneath Fushimi Station, there is an udon restaurant. They offer various options like curry udon, but I recommend trying their classic udon. Also, be sure to order tempura with it. The broth is light, the noodles have a nice firmness, and you can taste the wheat flavor in them. I was very satisfied and will definitely go back.

A udon restaurant right by the station. I ordered a luxurious combination of meat and shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, and was very happy with it. The meat was well seasoned and the noodles were irresistible. The noodles were firm and didn't get overshadowed by the toppings. The grated radish and chopped radish were a nice touch!

After a long time, I had udon noodles. I had bukkake meat udon and curry udon! The cold noodles were firm, and the curry udon had slightly softer noodles! The tempura was served on a separate plate - it was crispy and the shrimp was plump and delicious. I wonder how they achieve that salty flavor in the chicken tempura. It might be too rich in flavor for those who prefer mild tastes. I love strong flavors, so I thought it was extremely delicious!

When I tried to go to Okawa in Fujimori, it was closed unexpectedly. I went twice in January and experienced unexpected closure on the second visit. I always check the regular holidays before going, so it was not a regular holiday but an unexpected closure. I was craving udon, so I searched for a nearby udon shop and ended up here. The shop is located under the elevated tracks of Kintetsu Fukakusa Station. I had the special Gyuhimemaru for 1220 yen, which is made with black wagyu beef, fat scraps, and muscles, and added the Sakura Island chicken breast tempura for 1460 yen. The noodles were slightly soft, and the difference between the beef zone broth and the fat scraps zone broth was intriguing. Mixing them halfway through revealed a different flavor. The chicken breast tempura was also delicious, and overall, it was a tasty meal. It helped alleviate the disappointment of the unexpected closure.

On Sunday at 2:30 pm, I had plans to go to a global event, but I needed to leave Fushimi by 3:30 pm, making it impossible. I quickly turned into a lunch refugee. Feeling hungry, I searched on Tabelog and found this restaurant. I had been wanting to eat Sanuki udon recently, so it was perfect. I ordered the "Fukkitaru Bukkake" for 1,080 yen with an extra serving for 180 yen. It was served in about 8 minutes. The noodles were thick and had a satisfying chewy texture. The tempura chicken was also large and delicious.

The udon restaurant had a lot of unique menu items (mostly dipping or brothless udon), with not many traditional options. I couldn't find my favorite minced meat udon or curry udon on the menu. I ended up ordering the somewhat common tempura curry udon and yuba ankake udon. The chicken tempura seemed to be popular, but I wasn't very hungry so I chose the light ankake udon. The broth was sweet and rich, although I didn't really taste the depth of the broth's flavor. The curry broth was also quite sweet (like mild store-bought curry). Personally, I wish there was a bit more broth. The udon noodles weren't as chewy as I hoped, so maybe it's better to finish them in cold water like with dipping or brothless udon. They offer free upsizing, and I found the regular portion a bit small, so I'll go for the large next time. The place was constantly busy with customers coming in, so be prepared to wait. The bustling atmosphere didn't feel very comfortable or relaxing.

I don't have much knowledge of this area, so I looked on Tabelog and found this place. There was a line in front of the restaurant, but luckily I was able to get in without waiting because it was just past 1 pm. I was a bit hesitant, but I decided to order the popular Fukuraitaru Bukkake Udon. The wait time can vary depending on the menu you order. I wasn't very hungry that day, so I could endure the wait, but some other customers seemed a bit frustrated because their orders came out after mine. However, when the food arrived, I understood why it took time. The udon was topped with shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, beef sukiyaki, grated daikon radish, and various other toppings, all meticulously prepared. When I tasted it... Yes, it was delicious! This place is popular for a reason. I actually finished it in no time, so next time I'll order the large serving. Thank you for the meal!

-Sakurajima Chicken Breast Tempura Udon: 880 yen
Located about a 1-minute walk from Kintetsu Fushimi Station, this restaurant is well-known in the area. This time, I ordered the Sakurajima Chicken Breast Tempura Udon. The udon has a softness reminiscent of Kyoto-style udon, but it also has a good chewiness. It's like a slightly softer version of Sanuki udon. I enjoyed the gentle aroma of the broth and took a bite. The taste is very soothing. On the other hand, the topping is a large piece of chicken breast tempura. It's literally tempura made from chicken breast, and I was surprised by the generous amount of juicy meat. I dipped the tempura in the broth and took a bite. Delicious. The tempura itself is not too oily. This restaurant also serves as an izakaya. Pairing this tempura with beer... I'll pass on that today. I heard that their curry udon is also delicious and popular. I'm already thinking about trying that next time. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I went to a hand-made udon noodle shop near Fushimi Station on the Kintetsu line. The shop, called Fukukitaru, was located just a short walk from the station. As I entered, I could see the udon noodles being handmade right there at the entrance. In addition to classic options like bukkake udon, hot udon, and curry udon, they also had unique items on the menu such as "Taiwanese mixed udon" and "dipping noodles". You could even upgrade to a large serving (1.5 portions) for free. The menu also featured a variety of toppings, mainly tempura. When I asked the staff whether they recommended hot or cold udon, they suggested the cold bukkake udon. After a 10-minute wait, my udon was ready.
I ordered the regular size bukkake udon, which came with toppings like shrimp tempura, chicken tenderloin tempura, beef shigure, grated daikon radish, green onions, seaweed, and bonito flakes. It seemed to be a popular item on the menu. The thick and chewy udon noodles were delicious. The chicken tempura had a flavorful soy sauce taste, and the chicken tenderloin was juicy and satisfying. The large shrimp tempura had a crispy texture and a satisfying crunch. The beef shigure was also tasty with the sauce infused into the meat. Overall, not only the udon noodles but also the tempura toppings were delicious. It was a great signature dish at the restaurant!

I visited around 18:30 on Friday. There were two other customers visible. I ordered the Nabe Yaki Udon for 1130 yen. The chicken was very delicious and had a strong chicken flavor. The shrimp tempura was thick and juicy. The raw egg yolk paired perfectly with the gentle soup of the Nabe Yaki Udon. The white fish was fluffy and scattered, making it impossible to collect all of it.

We heard that there is a delicious udon restaurant in front of Kintetsu Fukumi Station, so we went there as a couple.
- I ordered the Fukutarou Udon (hot). It was a type of udon with a firm texture. I like udon with a firm texture, so it was delicious.
- The broth was exquisite. I drank it all.
- The shrimp tempura was also delicious. The fried tofu was large and good.
- The portion was generous. And it was free to get a large portion, so I ordered a large one.
- My wife ordered the Sakurajima Torisashimi Tempura Udon.
- The torisashimi tempura was very delicious.
- The broth was also exquisite. It was a taste that makes you want to eat it again.
- We went after 1 pm, but there was still a line. Since we lined up outside, it might be necessary to wear warm clothing. But it was a restaurant worth waiting in line for.
