"Sushi Yoda" is a sushi restaurant located near the Kegu intersection, next to the Hakata Champon restaurant Kurodaya. I found an app that can combine multiple photos into one, so I was able to consolidate a large number of photos into seven. I discovered this place when I visited the neighboring Champon restaurant before. After reading a review by a fellow reviewer, I decided to visit but was hesitant due to the unknown prices. However, I received some extra income from pachinko, so I finally decided to visit. According to a fellow reviewer, the two key points to look for in a new sushi restaurant are being located just off the main street of a bustling area and having a clean entrance. "Sushi Yoda" meets these criteria as it is located in a convenient yet affordable area just off the main street between Tenjin and Daimyo. The entrance is clean and inviting. The restaurant has been around for 21 years but looks new. It has a clean interior with 8 counter seats and tatami seating. The owner and his wife, along with another chef and a female staff member, were present during my visit. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and I had a chance to chat with him since there were no other customers at the time. The menu indicated that the price for omakase sushi starts at 2,100 yen, making it accessible to occasional visitors as well. I sat at the counter and started with a bottle of beer and a complimentary appetizer of tamago tofu with yuzu flavor. I then ordered an omakase sashimi plate, which included flounder, horse mackerel, and ark shell. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I continued with grilled smelt, which had a delicate saltiness and was perfect with a glass of sake. I also tried a rare delicacy, red jellyfish from the Ariake Sea, which was served raw with ponzu sauce and ginger. It had a crunchy texture and was very tasty. I enjoyed it with a glass of Urakasumi ginjo sake. I also tried a Niigata sake called Shimetsuru, which was smooth and easy to drink. Finally, I ordered an omakase nigiri set, which included kohada, flounder, squid, fatty tuna, sea urchin, shrimp, ark shell, and clam. I also added sardine to my order. The sushi was expertly prepared, with beautiful presentation and delicious vinegared rice. I enjoyed it with another glass of Shimetsuru sake. It was a luxurious and satisfying meal. The lunch menu starts at 1,500 yen, and the restaurant is open on Saturdays as well. I look forward to visiting again for lunch next time."
