On our wedding anniversary dinner this year, we went to a yakiniku restaurant. My husband had made a reservation, keeping it a surprise until the day of. It wasn't a fancy place we usually go to, but what surprised me was that they served a dessert plate. Here is what we ordered: - Yakiniku assortment (bamboo) x2 - Rare! Senmai sashimi - Kimchi assortment - Stone-grilled bibimbap - Black label x2 - Dessert plate The yakiniku assortment included aged beef tongue with salt, green onion salted beef tongue kalbi, select upper kalbi, premium kalbi, today's lean meat, rare middle-cut kalbi, and either beef intestines or chicken gizzard. We started with a toast and then the aged beef tongue with salt and green onion salted beef tongue arrived. While grilling, we enjoyed three types of kimchi. Next, the today's lean meat arrived, which we dipped in raw egg. There were only two pieces, and they disappeared quickly as they were our favorite. The remaining four types were served on one plate with either beef intestines or chicken gizzard. The fat content was high, causing multiple flare-ups. We finished with the stone-grilled bibimbap, leaving us very full. However, we still managed to enjoy the dessert plate with a separate stomach. We were in a private room on the second floor, allowing us to chat freely without worrying about others. It was quite hot though, and we ended up sweating while trying to cool down the grill.笑

I arrived later than my reservation time, but the service was excellent. They seated us at a child-friendly table and even provided a complimentary dessert after our meal. The staff showed great consideration for children and the service was excellent. The food was delicious!

The chijya looked like just sunny lettuce and was disappointing. Next, the meat sushi arrived. It consisted of two rolls with different types of meat. They were grilled at the table and sprayed with soy sauce. Both were tender and delicious! The soup contained radish, carrots, shimeji mushrooms, and beef with a nice level of spiciness. However, the soup was lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. Then came the main meats. The tongue was tender, and the sagari had a nice texture. The kalbi and pork belly were flavorful without being too fatty. Some other customers were enjoying yakiniku with alcohol, making it a casual place suitable for a yakiniku lunch or even a daytime party!

The stone pot bibimbap was a bit on the soft side, but after having some cold noodles, I was completely satisfied and full.

Benjamin Lunch, located at Kakogori in Fukuoka, is a restaurant I had never tried despite living in the area for a long time. The main reason being the lack of parking. I prefer places near Tenjin or the station. This time, I planned to visit Benjamin Lunch if Trattoria Porcini (Italian) nearby was full. There are various lunch menu options available. I had the Black Wagyu Hamburg Steak on a hot plate for 1280 yen (excluding tax), which comes with salad or chawanmushi, soup, and rice. The hamburg steak was delicious. I would rate it 3.6 stars. My husband had the Stamina Combo Set for 1480 yen (excluding tax) with an additional W Sagari for 320 yen (Sagari portion increased from 100g to 200g), which includes salad or chawanmushi, appetizer, soup, and rice. My husband mentioned that the meat was not quite up to his liking. We also ordered Kimchi for 100 yen, non-alcoholic beer for 390 yen, and cola for 100 yen. Thank you for the meal.

First time visiting this restaurant. We came for lunch. We arrived shortly after opening time and there were already customers inside. We were seated at the back table. The lunch menu was extensive and we had a hard time deciding, but both my partner and I chose the special lunch for 2480 yen. The meat was all decently tasty. The thick-cut tongue was good for tongue lovers. Personally, I prefer the tongue at Seikawa's Tankasan, so I was a bit disappointed. One thing that bothered me was the ventilation. Maybe it was because we were seated at the back, but there was a strong smell of barbecue on our hair and clothes. Recently, there have been more ventilation fans installed under the tables to absorb smoke, so maybe that's why I didn't notice any smell before. It was a bit disappointing. Since I started eating beef tongue, sometimes I feel like having the thick-cut type. This place is not too crowded during the day, so you can drop in without a reservation (*ﾟ▽ﾟ)ﾉ I had the "Rare Cut & Premium Beef BBQ" for ¥2480. The tongue is thick and satisfying to eat. Some other meats have a bit of gristle, but considering the price, it's reasonable, I think! On another day, I had the dinner menu during lunchtime, and again the thick-cut tongue was delicious, while some other meats had gristle. Maybe that's just how it is here. I checked on Tabelog again! The interior of the restaurant was clean, and there were many couples. The meat was pink and quite good even though I prefer it a bit more cooked! I liked the harami! The meat and sauce didn't quite match my taste... Not that they didn't match, but it just wasn't my preference! I'm sure there are many who would like it though!
