I had the Luro rice set meal for 900 yen. The meat was tender and melted in my mouth. The seasoning was just right, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness, giving it a Chinese-style spiced flavor. It was delicious. The miso soup had daikon radish, tofu, shimeji mushrooms, and thin deep-fried tofu. The side dish was dried daikon radish and konjac.

I came to Yokobori Shokudo again today. I couldn't get the salmon, so I ended up having the tempura udon instead of the pork cutlet. The tempura was big and crispy delicious! The broth was also tasty! The pumpkin side dish was delicious too. I am satisfied! (≧∇≦)b

Today, I came with a handsome sales guy and there were only a few seats available at the counter by 12 o'clock. The menu for the day was as follows:
- Bonito rare cutlet: 950 yen
- Mackerel simmered in miso: 880 yen
- Beef bowl: 900 yen
I decided to go with the beef bowl this time, which I had skipped last time. Wow, there's a lot of rice. It's like the "extra-large" size at a beef bowl chain. And it comes with pickled ginger on top, which is a nice touch. You eat it with a wooden spoon, and it's the opposite of "with extra sauce," it's "without sauce." I usually prefer a moderate amount of sauce, but this is delicious too. It feels somewhat healthy. The quality of the beef might be better than that of a major chain. It's tender and full of flavor. The sauce is just right, not too sweet or too spicy. The large bowl also comes with miso soup with shimeji mushrooms, kinpira renkon and okara in a side dish, and pickled daikon. All of this for 900 yen is reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

Today's daily special set meal included chicken nanban with shrimp fry (tartar sauce) for 900 yen, miso simmered mackerel for 900 yen, and mapo tofu deep-fried tofu set meal for 880 yen. I ordered the mapo tofu deep-fried tofu set meal. The deep-fried tofu was plentiful and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spiciness. It came with simmered daikon radish as well. For my child, they had marinated wakasagi fish and okara, and the miso soup was tofu and enoki mushroom miso soup. I had seconds of rice. The seasoning of the simmered daikon radish was so delicious that I could have eaten it multiple times over. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal. I think I will go back to eat there again. I accidentally failed at taking a photo, and my head's shadow ended up in the picture.

I bought a bento box for 600 yen from Yokobori Shokudo and brought it home. Today's bento box included hamburger, salmon, dashimaki tamago, curry-flavored potato salad, sweet potato tempura, snap peas, pumpkin stew, sunny lettuce, pickled daikon, and fried rice. The portions were all big and the flavors were delicious, with a gentle taste that felt carefully prepared. Each dish was satisfying and tasty. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, there were many options for meat dishes:
- Pork ginger stir-fry set meal: 900 yen
- Beef bowl set meal: 900 yen
- Beef sukiyaki with grated daikon on udon noodles: 950 yen
By the way, the fish dish was sardine fry set meal (900 yen). After much deliberation, I ordered the pork ginger stir-fry set meal. Guests kept coming in after I arrived. It seems like the restaurant is already popular. Well, with lunch options like these, it's no wonder it's popular. As expected, it was satisfying this time as well. The main dish was thick and easy-to-eat pork loin, perfectly complemented by the ginger sauce. Onions, leeks, and mizuna served as accents. There's nothing that goes better with white rice than this. It was just delicious! The side dishes included dried daikon radish, lotus root kinpira, cucumber sunomono, and miso soup with tofu in a large bowl. And of course, freshly cooked rice that you can have seconds of. As always, it was a well-balanced meal. Ah, just looking at it made me happy (*'▽') Needless to say, I devoured it all in one go. There were 2 people in the kitchen and 2 in the hall on that day, which is probably why there were so many lunch menu options. I see! Another addition to the lunch rotation lineup. Thanks for the meal.

I chose the meat set meal with grated yam udon out of the two options of fish set meal or meat set meal. The sweet and savory simmered beef and grated yam were delicious and filling! The side dishes included spinach ohitashi, okra, and pickled seaweed. Compared to supermarkets or chain stores, the taste was significantly better with a gentle and delicious flavor. It was probably homemade. At least it didn't have the rough taste of broth with lots of additives. This flavor must be the original taste. It reminded me of the nostalgic taste of my grandmother's cooking. Rice refills were available, but I didn't need it this time because the meal was already filling. After finishing the udon, I intentionally left some rice and poured the grated yam soup over it to make yam rice and enjoyed it. Indeed, Osaka is a fierce battleground for set meals. You can't tell from the photos, but the portion size was quite generous. And all of this at such a reasonable price. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied. It was delicious.

Hommachi ◇ Diner ◇ [Hommachi 4-chome, Chuo-ku] Located on the left side after going north at the first traffic light to the east of the intersection of Hommachi-dori and Yotsuhashi-suji (Shinano Bridge), following the closure of "Yokobori Shokudo" and "Soba-ya Hayasaki," this restaurant opened. There is a lunch menu sign outside the store. Today's daily special (950 yen) includes ◆ Fish: Saury Nishikyo-yaki set meal (limited to 8 servings) ◆ Meat: Beef tendon with grated radish. Purchase a meal ticket at the ticket machine on the left as soon as you enter. There are 10-12 counter seats in a U-shape and 8 table seats. There were two customers before us. The meal was served in 5 minutes after we sat at the counter. "Let's eat." The main dish is Nishikyo-yaki. There are 2 pieces of chicken tempura, pumpkin salad, and boiled spinach. Instead of miso soup, there is a small udon. The rice was not to my liking. "Thank you for the meal."

Last week's lunch was unforgettable, and I couldn't resist going back for a second time. Last time I had the "meat set meal," so today I thought I'd go for the "fish set meal." But when I looked at the menu, things were different.
- Eel Roll Set Meal (Today's Fish Set Meal): 950 yen
- Chicken Tempura Udon (Today's Meat Set Meal): 900 yen
Oh my, my favorite dishes were lined up. This was a tough decision. I ended up being swayed by the allure of the udon. The main dish was cold udon with tempura. Since it was a set meal, it came with rice and side dishes. And you could even get seconds of rice (but I restrained myself today).
The main dish, chicken tempura, had three large pieces that were crispy and juicy. It was delicious! The noodles were made with Sanuki udon, so they had a good chewiness and were slightly thick, just the way I like them. They were probably sourced from Kagawa Prefecture. Of course, they were tasty.
Toppings included lemon, green onions, grated daikon radish, and chopped seaweed, all enhancing the udon. The only difference was the broth, a gentle balance of kombu and bonito flakes typical of Osaka, without the use of dried baby sardines.
The rice was a regular portion, with a bit of pumpkin salad and bitter melon stir-fry on the side. The main attractions were definitely the rice and chicken tempura udon, a classic combo of double carbs. Needless to say, I was stuffed!
The giant eel roll also looked tempting. Thanks for the meal.

Last week, I noticed a new restaurant when I passed by. It opened in the place where a soba restaurant used to be. At night, a standing bar called "Ikasamaya" operates nearby, making it a dual-purpose establishment. The entrance is on the east side and the whole place is glass-walled, creating a bright and modern atmosphere inside. The interior has a modern Japanese style with exposed concrete walls. The process is to first buy a ticket from the machine, then hand it to the staff in exchange for a numbered tag. The choices are either Fish Set Meal for 950 yen or Meat Set Meal for 950 yen. I chose the Meat Set Meal, which was Tonkatsu that day. When the plate arrived, I was surprised! Besides the Tonkatsu, there were many side dishes such as Chicken Katsu, Miso Soup with Komatsuna, Goya Champuru, Simmered Hijiki Seaweed, and Kinpira Gobo. And the best part is, rice refills are free. The Tonkatsu was cut into bite-sized pieces for easy eating. The large Chicken Katsu was crispy and delicious, whether eaten as is or with sauce. The side dishes were also well-prepared and tasty. Even the rice was delicious. I couldn't resist getting a refill. I was dining with two other women that day, and the friendly and homely atmosphere created by the staff added to the experience. I might become a regular here. Next time, I'll try the Fish Set Meal. Thank you for the meal.

I discovered a recently opened shop on the north side of Honmachi Station on the Yotsubashi Line. I had a pork cutlet set meal with anchovy and cheese sauce for dipping. The cutlet was cut into easy-to-eat pieces and fried, making it easy to eat. The chicken was healthy and just right. Everything had a homemade feel and the atmosphere of the shop was cozy. It seemed to have a lot of female customers. Thank you for the meal.

I had a 900 yen mackerel simmered set meal. Along with the simmered mackerel, there was kobachi (dried daikon radish and pumpkin with egg salad), miso soup with seaweed and tofu, and unlimited rice refills. The simmered mackerel was really delicious.
