Took a day off and went back to my hometown yesterday. Did some snow shoveling in the morning and got really hungry. After some hard work, decided to treat myself to some ramen! It had been four years since my last visit, so I went to Yotsuba, a refined and delicious shiokara ramen shop in Asahikawa. I was curious about their limited-time menu, and when I asked, I found out it was only available until today, so I made a quick decision! I ordered the limited edition Rich Squid Shiokara Ramen for 1,000 yen, with an additional seasoned egg for 100 yen, and Chashu rice for 350 yen. The squid ink-colored soup was rich and full of squid umami, perfectly balanced with the shiokara, making it easy to slurp down. It was incredibly delicious! The richness of the broth left a collagen-like texture around my mouth. The noodles were Yotsuba's signature low-hydration, thin straight noodles, which are rare in Asahikawa. As always, they had a firm and chewy texture, and were incredibly delicious! The toppings included green onions, seaweed, and tender rare Chashu. The seasoned egg was perfectly gooey and tasty! I enjoyed it with the meaty Chashu rice and left the restaurant feeling satisfied and with the lingering taste of squid in my mouth. This ramen is a must-try for squid lovers!

[Menu] Rich Anchovy Soy Sauce Ramen + Large Size
[Price] 980 yen + 150 yen
[Impression] I never thought I could have anchovy ramen in Asahikawa! If you're used to the light taste of Nagi's anchovy ramen, this one might feel a bit strong, but the anchovy broth is rich and delicious. Also, the chashu was amazing! It was the perfect thickness with just the right amount of fat. I recommend adding extra chashu as a topping.

I love dried fish, so this was my first visit to this place that I've been wanting to try for a while. I arrived before 11:30, but the parking lot was already full. I was hesitating on what to do when a customer was leaving, so I parked there. There are a few parking spots in front of the shop and across the street. The inside of the shop was also almost full, but I was seated right away at an available table. Since it was my first time, I ordered the classic dried fish soy sauce ramen. It was a bit crowded, so I waited about 15 minutes before the ramen was served. The presentation was beautiful and modern. The egg was optional. I started with the soup. It wasn't too fishy and had a hint of sweetness. The soy sauce flavor was strong. The noodles were straight and had a strong wheat taste. The chashu was thinly sliced and light. It was tender. The menma was thick, which I liked. The other toppings included mizuna and dried seaweed. Overall, it was a light and satisfying ramen. It had more substance than it appeared. Next time, I'll try the richer dried fish ramen.

"I wanted to eat rich boiled dried fish ramen, so I went to Yotsuba. I arrived just in time for lunch, so I was able to get in right away. However, I ordered only one bowl of the rich soy sauce ramen I was looking for, while my companion chose the regular soy sauce flavor. I could hear the sound of a blender coming from the kitchen, so I thought they were crushing the dried fish finely. The ramen arrived in a few minutes. When I tried the soup with the aroma of dried fish, the rich soy sauce and dried fish flavors soaked in. The noodles are straight. In Hokkaido, curly noodles are more common, so it feels quite fresh. The chashu is very tender and delicious. The slightly older waiter was very nice, and I had a pleasant experience. The rich soup would also go well with rice! If you like dried fish, be sure to give it a try!"

I visited this place because it recently became a Bib Gourmand by Michelin, and I was curious. In Asahikawa, there are not many dried fish-based ramen options. I was intrigued by the limited-time rich dried fish and squid ramen, so I ended up ordering it. However, I couldn't taste the squid flavor, only the bitterness of the rich dried fish. If you enjoy rich dried fish, you will love it. The noodles were straight noodles similar to Santoka's blend. The soup felt a bit lukewarm, maybe due to the cold weather that day. I remembered that finding a four-leaf clover brings happiness as I slurped it up.

I had the "Rich Soy Sauce Ramen" at "Ramen Yotsuba" located at 7-17 Toyooka 12-jo 6-chome, Asahikawa City. It cost 900 yen. It looked delicious with chopped onions, nori seaweed, watercress, menma, and chashu on top. This was my 11th visit to Yotsuba since January 2022. Although I am not from Asahikawa, this restaurant serves delicious rich anchovy ramen. It's one of my favorite places in Asahikawa. The menu has not changed since my visit in January. Despite rising ingredient prices, they seem to be doing their best. As a customer, I am happy about that. The noodles in the rich soy sauce ramen were the same delicious low-water content, straight-cut, medium-thin noodles from Sudo Seimen. The soup was still delicious. The anchovy flavor was rich with a hint of sweetness and no bitterness. There are many places in Tokyo that serve delicious rich anchovy ramen, but some are too strong. Yotsuba has a good balance and is really tasty. The rich soy sauce ramen was delicious as always. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

The parking lot is always full, so it was difficult to find a spot. I had high expectations for the ramen because it looked nice. I ordered the white soy sauce ramen. After taking a few sips with the spoon, I felt that it lacked richness. The dried seaweed didn't have much flavor either. I only ate about a third of it and thought, "Hmm, it's too salty." Even after chewing the raw onion, the salty taste wouldn't go away. I felt my blood pressure rising as I ate, but it just wasn't to my liking at all. It was a ramen that made my throat dry. It had the aroma of dried fish, but lacked depth. It was the saltiest ramen I've had this year. Disappointing.

It's been a while since I visited Yotsuba-san. I was craving their beautifully presented bowl. As I approached, I noticed a faint scent of dried fish... Oh no, the phantom smell is starting to creep in. Yotsuba-san's dried fish soy sauce ramen priced at 850 yen is truly original and well-crafted. The soup is packed with a pleasant umami flavor without any fishy taste. The specially made straight noodles from Sudo Seimen are neatly arranged, tempting me with their appearance. The dried fish soup clinging to the noodles creates a perfect harmony in every bite. This was my first time trying the soy sauce flavor at Yotsuba-san, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

For lunch, I visited "Ramen Yotsuba" in Toyooka, Asahikawa City for the first time. There are parking spaces in front of the store and across the street. Upon entering, I sat at a table and looked through the menu. I ordered the "Rich Sardine Ramen (Rich Soy Sauce) for 900 yen, while my companion ordered the "Sardine Ramen (Salt) for 850 yen. Our bowls arrived in about 7-8 minutes. The "Rich Soy Sauce" had a strong sardine flavor but no bitterness, with a rich soup that paired perfectly with the smooth low-water-content thin straight noodles. The soft and moist chashu placed around the rim of the bowl was a standout feature, as well as the thick yet tender menma, nori, diced onions, and watercress, showing a strong commitment to quality ingredients. It was a very delicious bowl. The "Salt" ramen also had a gentle flavor with a hint of sardine and a subtle sweetness from the salt, making it quite tasty as well. Sardine broth might be a divisive taste, but I was impressed by the high-quality and carefully crafted bowls they served.

I had the "Rich Soy Sauce Ramen" at "Ramen Yotsuba" located at 6-7-17 Toyooka 12-jo, Asahikawa City (900 yen). The presentation has changed, with the chashu now placed on the rim of the bowl instead of in the soup, perhaps to keep the soup from cooling too quickly. This visit marks my 10th time at Yotsuba since their 2020 year-end special ramen. The opening hours have changed to 11:00-14:30, 17:30-20:30. The menu has been updated as well, with slight price increases. The noodles were still the delicious low-water-content, straight-cut noodles from Sudo Seimen. The soup remained rich and flavorful without any fishiness. Overall, it was a tasty meal.

I went to Asahikawa and tried a rare Chinese soba restaurant that specializes in boiled fish broth. I ordered soy sauce ramen while my partner ordered white soy sauce ramen with a side of rice. I was a bit disappointed as I was very hungry and found the flavor to be too salty. The white soy sauce ramen was also on the salty side, giving me more of a soba eating experience. The rice was mushy and the flavor was mediocre. However, the chashu was like roast beef and quite tasty. The taste may be a hit or miss for some people. Maybe I had too high expectations. Overall, it was a decent meal.

The soup at this popular restaurant, "Yotsuba" in Asahikawa, has a strong bonito flavor without any bitterness, which is amazing. The noodles are perfectly cooked, with a firm texture and great chewiness. I ordered the Special Soy Sauce Ramen (1100 yen), which comes with extra chashu pork and a seasoned egg on top. The presentation is elegant and simple, with a sophisticated touch. The soup is refined yet robust, with a depth of flavor that is delicious. The noodles are excellent, with a delicious wheat flavor and perfectly cooked to al dente. The seasoned egg is flavorful, although it may not look like it. The chashu pork, while tasty, was slightly fibrous, which bothered me a bit. Overall, it was a very delicious ramen experience, and I can see why this place is so popular.

A friend's recommendation: Atmosphere: The place has a vintage look, but the interior is clean, bright, and stylish. The menu is handwritten and cute. Food: I tried the shoyu (soy sauce) simmered sardine ramen. The soup and noodles were glossy and beautiful. They don't use chemical seasonings, which made me even more excited. It's light but you can fully taste the sardine flavor, leaving a satisfying feeling. Overall: It's light but the unique sardine soup flavor is addictive.

Yotsuba's limited-time menu is always something I look forward to and enjoy. However, it's often difficult to find the right timing to try it out (the restaurant may be closed or they may run out of soup). When you walk into the restaurant, you're greeted by the subtle scent of simmered fish. It's a comforting smell that makes me feel truly Japanese. The service from the owner is always polite and reassuring. I decided to order the limited saba (mackerel) simmered ramen. As a fan of fish-based broths, I was excited to try this menu item. Despite it being nighttime, they still had soup available and I was relieved. The ramen arrived promptly, and the aroma was amazing! It was different from the usual ramen I have had before. The bowl contained two types of chashu (roast pork), egg, menma (bamboo shoots), and green onions. There were no seaweed or onions typically found in ramen. The soup had a wonderful umami flavor. Before even starting on the noodles, I had three sips of the soup with a spoon. The noodles were thin and straight, making them easy to eat. The chashu was made from chicken breast and the usual pork chashu. The pork chashu was tender and moist, cooked at a low temperature. It was really delicious. The chicken breast chashu was also tender and juicy, with a rich chicken flavor. It was refreshing to eat but still satisfying enough to be the star of the dish. The standout feature of this ramen was the perfect balance between the soup and noodles. The flavors were great, but what really stood out was how the noodles and soup finished at the same time. It made me crave more soup. I finished the bowl in one go. This limited-time ramen was truly delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The dried fish-based ramen is my husband's favorite, and I'm not very familiar with it. There are soy sauce, white soy sauce, salt, and rich dried fish ramen options. You can upgrade to a special version for an extra 200 yen, which includes extra pork slices and a seasoned egg. We ordered a variety of dishes. The noodles are thin and straight, similar to Fukuoka ramen. Each one has a strong dried fish flavor. Instead of green onions, they use finely chopped onions, mizuna, pork slices, and bamboo shoots. The pork slices are tender and lightly cooked. The rich ramen has a greenish-white broth. I personally prefer the white soy sauce one. My husband enjoyed all of them and kept swirling the soup as he sipped it. He also ordered an extra serving of mixed noodles, which arrived in about 2 minutes. I was intrigued by the dried fish flakes and egg over rice dish, but I didn't have room in my stomach for it.

This year's final ramen was enjoyed at "Yotsuba" in Asahikawa City, Toyooka 12-6-7-17, where I had the rich dried sardine ramen "Special Rich Soy Sauce" (1000 yen). The exterior of the restaurant looked as inviting as always. The special option includes extra chashu and one flavored egg. The bowl also comes with seaweed, bamboo shoots, chopped onions, and watercress. This was my 9th visit to Yotsuba. The menu has remained largely unchanged. The noodles in the special rich soy sauce ramen were the usual Sudo-made low-water content thin straight noodles. The broth was rich and flavorful without any fishy taste. The chashu and flavored egg were delicious, and the bowl was finished in no time. Yotsuba will be open from the 2nd of January for lunch. It was a satisfying last bowl of the year. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Limited time offer... looking forward to it! This is a story about "realizing it before you know it" but haha, it's not just limited to Yotsuba-san, but I don't really check anything in particular, so if I suddenly notice something and it piques my interest, I'll go check it out... that kind of feeling. This time, I learned about Yotsuba-san from Kitadora-san's review, and they have a relatively rare one... "Boiled Anchovy Light Miso" for 900 yen. It says it comes with sunflower field pork chashu... in the menu. Normally, I'm not really interested in chashu, but if it's Yotsuba-san, it will surely have a tender finish like it's been cooked at a low temperature... The waiting time is... about 6-7 minutes? Even though it's crowded, they still provide the dishes quickly as always. The appearance is... (ㆁωㆁ*) Huh? This is miso?? I saw it in the picture beforehand, but I was surprised more than I expected! (^▽^;) Let's taste it... The noodles are the type I like as usual... the chashu looks beautiful too. The soup... hmm... hmm~? It's strangely not miso-like at all... (◎・ω・)? I can sense a "barley miso" -like flavor in the distance... maybe? The saltiness is gentle and good... It's delicious, so I continue to eat. The chashu is as tender and soft as expected, they have carefully prepared a very good pork loin. I taste the soup each time, but I still don't understand... the truth is a mystery... haha. I was curious, so I asked! (*^∀^) "Miso dregs" Ah... I see! I immediately thought of the top layer of miso because I've brewed miso a few times before. I've mixed a little miso in, but I've also thrown it away... I knew that you could use it in cooking, but it's a bit of a hassle... The top layer of miso... in other words, the extract was used, right? A very unique taste... truly a characteristic insight from Yotsuba-san. It was an interesting challenge to miso ramen. Thank you for the meal~ (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡

Today's lunch was at Yotsuba. I arrived late, so the popular rich ramen was sold out. I went with the special soy sauce ramen instead. The special comes with extra chashu and a seasoned egg topping. The chashu was thickly sliced with a rare texture, making it very satisfying. The ramen looked beautiful.
