"Kamonishiki Chuo Market Store" I passed by near the Chuo Market at lunchtime, so I decided to go for lunch. I usually go to the neighboring Tsukami Sushi Endo-san, but I decided to try a different restaurant this time and chose "Kamonishiki"さん. The menu offers two types of udon and soba. There is also a combination dish where you can enjoy both. It was written as small (580 yen), medium (680 yen), and large (780 yen), so I ordered the medium size saying "Medium, please." The staff said, "It might be a bit much for women..." but I replied firmly, "It's okay," and ordered the medium udon. Inside the counter, there were various flavors of onigiri (100 yen) lined up, and I was tempted to have one, but it was a good decision not to order. The medium-sized udon turned out to be two servings! This is usually considered a large serving, right? If I had ordered an onigiri as well, I wouldn't have been able to finish it. The udon was like a firm version of Ise udon, with a chewy texture rather than a smooth one. The boiled vegetables added a nice accent to the flavor. As for the dipping sauce, it came in a small bowl that was quite generous in size! It was filled with a large amount of duck meat. The soup, made with duck fat, was very hot, so it stayed warm for a long time, which was nice. Despite its appearance, it wasn't as heavy as it seemed. Finally, you mix the dipping sauce with ginger water and drink it like soba-yu. There is quite a lot of food, so if you plan on drinking the soup, maybe it's better to go for the small size after all?! Looking back at the price, "Medium (680 yen)." Isn't this too cheap? I intended to have a light lunch, but ended up eating a lot (sweat) Kamonishiki Chuo Market Store Ranking: Udon | Tamagawa Station, Noda Station (JR), Awasu Station
