It felt like a mass-produced buffet. There were few Hokkaido-style dishes, which was a bit disappointing, but there were no strange menu items and it seemed like it would be well-received by everyone! The Ezo deer Genghis Khan was really delicious! It's worth coming just for that! The staff were very polite and helpful.

Excluding the year-end and New Year holidays, it has been two years since I last saw fireworks with my only companion. Setting aside the quality of the hot springs (bitter smile), my companion was attracted to the open-air bath with a great view and a feeling of liberation, so we decided to book a plan at the Toya Lakeside Hotel 5 days in advance. The plan was a discounted plan for 2 people sharing a room, including 2 meals, in a Lake View Japanese-Western style room (non-smoking) at a price of 12,650 yen per adult, totaling 25,300 yen (including tax and service charge). An additional bathing tax of 300 yen per person was charged. We used some points to reduce the cost, so each person paid 14,070 yen. We chose a discounted plan before the holiday, but the following Sunday was fully booked, probably due to a group of 300 people staying there. We were supposed to check in at 2:30 PM, but we were a bit late and checked in before 3:30 PM. Our room was on the 8th floor (the rooftop open-air bath was on the 9th floor) with a high view of the lake. The room, despite being an old establishment, was clean and well-maintained. We headed straight to the large bath with a fantastic view of Lake Toya. I noticed the crows again in the open-air bath, just like the last time I visited (laughs). They recommended the buffet dining time in the order of check-in, so we went when it was time, and there were still plenty of seats available (but by the time we finished, there was a long line). We grabbed as much food as we could eat. Although there was beer in the room, I bought two large 800ml jugs for my companion who seemed to want to drink (laughs). For some reason, our plan included a set of dishes from the inn, but it was unnecessary for a buffet (sweat). I tried it out alone, and I was surprised by the bamboo fish cakes and pickled radishes. There were also some saury, which was my first time this year (I think). The tempura consisted of three types (shrimp, salmon, and maitake mushroom) with tempura dipping sauce (with grated daikon and ginger), kombu salt, and lemon salt for seasoning. The steak, cooked as ordered, was good, but it became my favorite when I added plenty of Hokkaido onions and mustard sauce with garlic chips. The best dish was the salt ramen with young scallops from Funka Bay! The noodles, made from 100% Hokkaido wheat and cooked after receiving the order, were topped with two young scallops, seaweed, and green onions. The noodles had a slightly different texture, and despite still drinking, the unlimited squid sashimi was a joy (laughs). The fireworks display at the "Lake Toya Onsen Long Run Fireworks Festival" was from 8:45 PM for about 20 minutes. The combination of illuminated boats, boats launching fireworks, and maneuverable boats for fireworks on the lake was impressive, fitting for the 40th anniversary. Breakfast was also held in the same venue from 7:00 AM, and we lined up 5 minutes before to minimize waiting time (as there were many people waiting by the time we left). The warm chawanmushi from the previous night was served cold in the morning (laughs). The clam chowder was quite flavorful. The curry (which tasted like pork) could be adjusted to your preferred spiciness with garam masala and chili powder. A highlight was the "Japanese Mountain Menu" themed after Iburigakko from Fukui Prefecture, featuring grilled onigiri with salmon tea pickles. The triangular grilled onigiri with soy sauce-colored surface was topped with skin-on salmon slices, and after pouring dashi, mountain wasabi, bubu arare, and chopped seaweed were added. Making it was fun, and the taste was a step up (laughs). I was too full the night before, so I gave up on making my own soft-serve ice cream. I poured strong coffee over it and made a pseudo-affogato, satisfying myself (laughs). For those who love buffets and those who are a bit hesitant about buffets due to their age, the well-thought-out meals are not bad. The current cover photo is from a spot that is not yet well-known, so after taking the picture, when I asked the front desk how to get there, they said that some people show this type of photo and ask how to get there. However, I don't know the location, so let's try our best to find it ourselves.

I visited this inn to relax in the hot springs and enjoy a leisurely meal. The highlight was the panoramic open-air bath on the rooftop, offering a stunning view of Lake Toya. Dinner was a buffet with a special "Tamatebako" box provided as a thoughtful touch. Breakfast featured a different menu, including chirashi sushi, grilled rice balls, and ochazuke, which was a nice surprise.

Good morning. It's the second day in Hokkaido. The room temperature was comfortable and I didn't feel cold at all. The weather is not bad today either. Maybe it's because I've been behaving well. We had breakfast at 7:30, and there was honey dripping straight from the beehive. There was a wide variety of dishes, from Japanese to Western to Chinese, even Vietnamese! The meal was very fulfilling. I was surprised to see Pho for breakfast. I couldn't resist getting some French toast (laughs). The mapo tofu wasn't that great, but the scallop curry was delicious. The Pho noodles were nice and chewy. After eating, we checked for any forgotten items and left the inn. There was a foot bath on the premises of the inn, although it was a bit hidden. It was cozy and relaxing, and the inn had a good selection of yukatas. Overall, it was a nice place to stay. On the previous day, we left Chitose Airport at 2:00 pm and arrived at the inn around 4:30 pm. Tonight's inn is "Kohan-tei," located by Lake Toya. The room was a Japanese-style room with beds, and it was quite cozy. After returning from a walk, we rested in the room before dinner. We had dinner at the restaurant "Nakashima," which offered a buffet style meal with various Japanese and Western dishes. There was even a steak station serving freshly grilled steaks. There were also some Vietnamese dishes available due to the Vietnamese chef at the inn. The dessert section had a chocolate fountain. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes, including scallops, steaks, shrimp, sashimi, and even a DIY Genghis Khan hot pot. The meat was tender and juicy. I went back for seconds and even thirds of the steak. The pickled blueberries with aronia was a unique dish. I also tried the beef stew and Hokkaido's famous salted fish roe. For dessert, I enjoyed the rich soft-serve ice cream. After dinner, we went to see the illumination tunnel and then returned to the inn for a bath. The hot spring was on the 9th floor and was very relaxing, especially for my sore joints and bruises. The bath had indoor and outdoor sections, as well as a bucket shower. The lukewarm water in the bucket bath was soothing. It was a great way to end the day.

Sweaty at Ippei-tei, then off to Kohantei! Parked in front of the entrance, paid at the front desk. Took the elevator to the 9th floor bathhouse... only one other guest there. Enjoyed the open-air bath made of pottery, 32 meters above ground. After sweating in the sauna, replenished with a drink in the rest area. Ordered "Kishu Plum Sparkling" from the vending machine... delicious! Overlooking Lake Toya and the sightseeing boat... it was a great experience! Bathing fee 800 yen, drink 130 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

I decided to stay by Lake Toya. After indulging in food and drinks, I headed to the hot springs right after check-in. The hot spring water was high in temperature and rich in iron, making me sweat gently and feel comfortable as the alcohol wore off. I took a short nap before dinner to refresh my body. I was looking forward to the dinner, hoping for a luxurious seafood feast, but it didn't meet my expectations. After the banquet, I returned to my room and saw fireworks being launched from a boat on the lake. It was out of season, but it was beautiful. After watching the fireworks, I went outside for a drink, but it was quiet. Perhaps places like this, where summits are held, maintain good order. I would like to come back here again, maybe in my retirement.

I was very satisfied with the room with a lake view. The dinner buffet... cooking the Kamameshi and Ezo deer Genghis Khan on a small stove was fun! I usually don't like game meat, but the Ezo deer was not too gamey and quite good.

I spent a relaxing time at a hot spring right at the beginning of the New Year. Thank you very much. It's the start of 2022. As always, I enjoyed the hearty hotel buffet. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Sunday lunch buffet and day trip bathing plan for 1,620 yen at Toya Lake Lakeside Tei in October 2017. This was not a choice I made willingly, but due to various circumstances, I went in place of my sister. The lunch buffet was disappointing, with limited options and low quality. The salad had only shiso dressing, so I added soy sauce for flavor. The yakisoba was almost devoid of ingredients, reminding me of elementary school lunches. The ramen and beef stew seemed to be of commercial grade, as the meat was quickly picked out. The curry, though spicy, was decent but the rice was dry. The onion rings my husband had were hard to identify the onion in. The sushi rolls, inari sushi, and cakes looked dry and unappetizing. The best part of the meal was the water. The bath, however, was enjoyable. Overall, not a satisfying experience.

Relatives gathered together and checked in at the Lakeside Inn before 3:00 pm. We had a great time in the room, chatting and drinking beer, highballs, and sake. It was a hot day, but the room had air conditioning, so it was comfortable! When it was time for the banquet, there were many elderly people and it was difficult to sit on the cushions, so they provided chairs for us. We were all very grateful for the quick response! The staff's service was excellent. There was also a hot pot dish, and when the banquet hall got too warm, they brought in a spot cooler. I can't remember what I ate because I drank too much, but the staff's service deserves 5 stars! I just had to share this. By the way, the staff members seemed to be in their 30s? The day we visited was the 100th anniversary of the hot spring opening, and it seems they had a long and impressive fireworks display! (I was asleep from drinking too much) Everyone, please visit Lakeside Inn!

I stayed at a buffet-style accommodation in an underground area called "Nakajima". At night, there were so many dishes available! Thick slices of salmon sashimi, a variety of ingredients for teppanyaki, a wide selection of Western dishes, live demonstrations of freshly fried skewers and grilled steak. There were also ramen, curry, somen noodles, and many more! The breakfast buffet had a rich variety of items to accompany rice, including fruits, mini cakes, and soft serve ice cream. The hot spring had an open-air bath with a great view, and although the rooms had an old feel, I was satisfied with the food. It was a pretty good inn overall.

We went with a family of 11 people. Since our grandmother and children were with us, we opted for a room service plan instead of a buffet and had our meals in a banquet hall. First, we parked our car in front of the hotel and checked the parking lot. Please park over there. Use this cart for your luggage. We had a lot of luggage, so we loaded it onto the cart, parked the car, and when we returned, there were no employees! Luggage left unattended! Although I have some things to say to the hotel, let's focus on the food for now since this is a food review. For dinner, we used the banquet hall. It seemed like there were only 2 employees serving, so they didn't come promptly. But they were very friendly, so it was okay. The adult room service was satisfying for the price. The children's meal, which cost an additional 3240 yen, felt a bit cheap. I wish they could improve it somehow. The breakfast buffet had good food, and everyone was satisfied. Overall, it felt like there was a shortage of staff. I was surprised when we arrived at the hotel and were asked, "Did you check the number of yukatas available?" Do we really have to check the number of yukatas in the room first? We booked through the website, and it was mentioned that there was a 5% discount at check-out, but credit cards were not accepted. We were told only cash payments were accepted, which was disappointing. When we stayed at Nonoka at the same Noguchi Kanko, the employees seemed to be well-trained, but this time it felt different. Maybe it's a difference in grade? The fireworks display from the room was nice, so I would rate it 3.0.

I had a 4-night, 5-day business trip where my room changed every day, from a Japanese-style room to a regular bed. It was a hassle moving my luggage every day, but it was also a small pleasure to wonder what kind of room I would get next. The highlight of each day was the buffet meals, especially the steak which I had every day. The buffet had a variety of delicious dishes, unlike other hotel buffets that tend to have similar flavors. The staff was friendly and the hot spring at the hotel offered a relaxing experience with a great view of Lake Toya. Overall, it was a short but enjoyable trip.
