舌歯鶏孤聞
At first glance, the restaurant may seem a bit intimidating, but once you enter, you will find a small interior with only a counter. An older couple, who seem to be the owners, warmly welcome you. The menu includes ramen in soy sauce, miso, salt, corn, and chashu flavors, as well as fried rice in normal, curry, and kimchi styles, along with other options like cold noodles, yakisoba, and yakisoba with five ingredients. Side dishes include dumplings, pickled cucumbers, kimchi, rice balls, rice, grilled pork, sweet and sour pork, pork tempura, shrimp tempura, and fried chicken. You can choose between regular sweet and sour sauce or onion sweet and sour sauce for the fried dishes. The only drinks available are beer (medium) and sake. I visited the restaurant twice and ordered the following items:
Dumplings (6 pieces) - 300 yen: The dumplings were neatly wrapped and had a decent amount of filling, but the taste was average.
Salt butter ramen - Price forgotten: The soup was quite delicious, as others have mentioned. The noodles were normal, nothing particularly outstanding. The corn toppings were generous, but the chashu seemed like it might be store-bought and the boiled egg looked a bit plain.
Curry fried rice - 650 yen: The fried rice was not as crispy as expected, but the taste was good. It had a mild curry flavor, which I enjoyed.
Yakisoba with five ingredients - 850 yen: The yakisoba had a variety of ingredients, but the amount of noodles was a bit less than expected. The taste was a bit too mild for my liking.
Fried chicken - 650 yen: The first bite felt off, probably because the chicken seemed to be pre-marinated for sweet and sour sauce. I added some salt, but it still tasted like plain meat with oil. It was crispy and juicy, but lacked flavor.
Overall, this restaurant may appeal to those who prefer subtle flavors, especially after drinking. I didn't try everything on the menu, but I have a feeling that the dishes would taste better after a few drinks. Also, the older gentleman has a surprisingly cute voice for his appearance.
