You can easily enjoy sukiyaki for lunch at this restaurant located on the 7th floor of a dining building near Namba Station and Marui. When I arrived a little after 11:30, there were already about 6 groups waiting, and more customers continued to arrive. As sukiyaki is the specialty, there were also many inbound customers. After a short wait, we were seated at a table for two. I ordered the large sukiyaki set meal with extra meat. Soon, a small cassette stove was placed on the table, and rice, miso soup, raw egg, and pickles were served. Shortly after, the meat was brought out in a skillet-like pot. It wasn't extremely marbled, but it was good quality meat. The onions started to release moisture, and the explanation was to add half a spoon of sugar and two rounds of soy sauce. It seemed like the diners were supposed to adjust the seasoning themselves. Once the meat was cooked, we dug in. The sukiyaki was truly delicious from the first bite. The ingredients included onions, tofu, white konjac, green onions, and watercress. The sweetness of the softened onions complemented the dish well. We could have asked for more rice, but considering what was to come later, we decided to stick with one serving. The young couple next to us added extra rice to the remaining sukiyaki broth, got an additional egg for 50 yen, and made sukiyaki rice. I bet sukiyaki rice cooked in the beef fat must have been delicious. They seemed quite used to it, I hadn't thought of that. Most of the seating is at tables, but the counter seats with a view of Midosuji Street are great.
