While strolling through Nakasu, I stumbled upon this shop. The traditional interior and warm service made me feel nostalgic. The food was delicious and inexpensive. The owner is also lovely. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again. Thank you very much.

Eating yakiniku alone at the counter. Nakasu "Shichirin Yaki Gochome" November 10, 2018 Theme: Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City / Nakasu-Kawabata
This is a story from about a week ago... As I was walking through Nakasu on my way home, I passed by "Shichirin Yaki Gochome" and saw the Japan Series playing on TV... I wasn't really hungry, but I wanted to watch the Japan Series... There was only one customer at the counter, so I decided to go in. I ordered a draft beer and sat at the counter, which had a unique setup with a space in the shape of a horseshoe where the shichirin grill fits in... I felt bad not ordering anything to eat, so I decided to start with some cheap hormone meat. It was 480 yen plus tax. It seemed like it would be best to cook it all at once... I also ordered some thick fried tofu, which seemed gentle on the stomach... Oh... I didn't expect this much to come out... I cooked the surface until it was crispy and dipped it in soy sauce... Ah, it's delicious. I ended up finishing all of this food... I had a highball, then another one because the game wasn't over yet... In the end, I ended up spending over 3000 yen.

Sometimes when passing by the front of the shop, I was always curious about the yakiniku restaurant that is always full. I visited with a friend to this trendy shop, which I couldn't enter alone. You can enjoy charcoal grilling at the counter, and there is a duct so you don't have to worry about the smell. On this day, we ordered sand liver, pork belly, pork intestines, vegetable platter, kimchi, tail soup. I started with a highball, and then poured barley shochu from a bottle, but... it was a bit of a shochu that I didn't like (゚∀゚;) There was also a woman dining alone, so it might be good for those who want to enjoy yakiniku alone.

This is a yakiniku restaurant located near Showa-dori in Nakasu 5-chome, just as the name suggests. Here, you can enjoy delicious yakiniku cooked over charcoal in a shichirin grill. The restaurant offers counter seats and table seats, and you can easily enjoy yakiniku alone at the counter. On this day, after a meeting, my friend and I enjoyed yakiniku at the counter. I ordered my favorite maruchou along with a few other items from the menu. We started with edamame for 300 yen as an appetizer and toasted with shochu. We began with salt-grilled pork belly for 620 yen and chicken thigh for 480 yen. We grilled them over the charcoal in the shichirin grill, and the smoke was sucked up by the duct, so we could enjoy the delicious charcoal-grilled meat without worrying about the smoke. For beef, I ordered my favorite maruchou for 750 yen and kalbi for 850 yen. The meat was grilled to be very juicy over the charcoal. For the finishing touch, we had a light foil-grilled mushroom dish for 680 yen. It was delicious and a perfect way to end our dinner. The restaurant is located along Nakasu Chuo-dori in Nakasu 5-chome. - A rare restaurant where you can enjoy charcoal grill yakiniku alone.
- The beef harami is quite tender. Pork hormone is 480 yen.
- The restaurant is located a short walk from Nakasu towards the sea.
- There are counter seats here, making it a valuable place where you can enjoy yakiniku alone without feeling awkward.
- They provide individual charcoal grills for each person, and there is a duct attached to each grill, so there is not much smoke.
- The prices are reasonable. The sauce is miso-based, but it lacked a punch or clear flavor, which was a bit disappointing.
- They have a good selection of hormone meats. I tried the pork hormone for 480 yen, and was surprised by the generous portion. It had a unique organ flavor, which may not be for everyone, but hormone lovers might enjoy it.
- The beef harami for 1350 yen is very tender and also comes in a generous portion.
- Each dish has a substantial portion, so it would be nice if they offered half-size options for solo diners.

Located in Nakasu 5-chome, this restaurant is a must-visit. The counter seating is recommended, and they specialize in yakiniku style cooking on individual grills. They also have tatami seating and can accommodate parties on the second floor. The owner, originally from Miyazaki and a former professional surfer, had sponsorship deals with Hawaiian companies. Regular customers are drawn to his friendly and entertaining personality. The 5-chome harami and upper kalbi are must-order items, along with the maruchou (intestine). The standout feature is the delicious sauce, which pairs perfectly with the maruchou. Even when enjoying drinks, I always order extra rice. They take pride in sourcing high-quality meat from Miyazaki. Pairing the meat with black or white shochu like Kuro or Shiro Kirishima, or Himuka Jyu, enhances the yakiniku experience. Aside from the meat, I highly recommend the thick tofu. Grilling it on the individual grill until crispy, then topping it with plenty of ginger and green onions, creates an irresistible combination of crunch and juiciness. This dish will make you reach for more shochu. A cozy yakiniku restaurant that I will definitely visit again.

A restaurant where you can grill hormone on a charcoal grill. The prices are not too high, making it easy to visit. The recommended dishes are hormone-based. The chef serves hormone dishes that he is particular about (his family also runs a hormone grill). If the meat is not good, that particular cut might not be available. The restaurant has a counter, a tatami seating area at the back, and a spacious second floor for parties. While it's common for people to feel uncomfortable eating yakiniku or hormone dishes alone, many regular customers come alone to this restaurant. You may even make friends with the people sitting next to you. The chef is very friendly and interesting (originally from Miyazaki), and has lived in Hawaii and used to be a professional surfer.

"Hormone restaurant in Nakasu, 'Shichirin Yaki Gochome'. You can enjoy various types of hormones such as beef, pork, and chicken. First, the kimchi. This kimchi is delicious. Starting with the chicken cartilage. It's crunchy and tasty. There's quite a lot of it too. Beef intestines. Full of collagen and delicious. I quickly added rice. Beef intestines and rice, the best. Grilling hormones on a shichirin is really delicious. 'Kitten and Me' Plan."

The reviewer, who always enjoys delicious food, visited the restaurant for lunch with a colleague. They ordered tonkatsu set and gochome set, which came with tonkatsu, chicken karaage, pumpkin, zucchini, and eggplant. The meal was satisfying and the miso soup had plenty of ingredients. The lunch also included egg omelette, kombu, rice, and free refills of rice and miso soup. The reviewer shared half of the tonkatsu with their colleague and enjoyed a pleasant lunch. They are looking forward to trying the grilled hormone dishes at night. Thank you, Gochome San!

I personally consider these three spots in Fukuoka City as must-visit places. Whether it's for locals or visitors from out of town or overseas, they are usually well-received. The first spot is for chicken – "Jidoriya" in Nakasu. The second spot is for beef – "Tao" in Takeshita and Hakata Station South. The third spot is for pork – "Shichirin Yaki Gocho-me" in Nakasu. Even though I used to dislike pork offal and liver, after being taken there, I can't believe I've become addicted to it. The chef is the grandson of the founder of the famous Motsu-yaki restaurant "Tsuboya" in Miyazaki, known for his expertise in meat selection. Prices for pork offal start from 450 yen, but the Gocho-me set from 5 pm to 9 pm includes a glass of draft beer and three meat items for 990 yen, making it popular among those coming from work. The quality of the meat and cost performance are excellent. For those who are not fond of pork, there are also high-quality beef kalbi and chicken dishes available, so I highly recommend it. The sauce is also refreshing, making it popular among women. The tail soup is made without any chemical seasonings, and the broth is carefully prepared, resulting in a gentle flavor. I recently went for lunch and was impressed by the fact that you can have unlimited rice, miso soup, and even coffee for only 650 yen. You can feel the chef's dedication to meat even in the lunch menu. On a side note, the chef is a professional surfer who ranks high in competitions and can have surfboards made at a famous shop in Hawaii prioritized within three months. He doesn't look like it at first glance, but he is a very friendly and entertaining person. Currently, the chef is running the restaurant with his niece. Her father, the chef's brother, is also a famous professional surfer who runs a surf shop nearby. I often see women dining alone at the counter, and it's a place where you can eat comfortably and affordably even if you're dining alone.

It had been a while since I visited this restaurant, and it's been exactly 2 years since it opened, yet there were no reviews on Tabelog. I used to frequent the place when it was still part of a horumon shop near Hakata Station, and have visited a few times since they became independent. Located in Nakasu, the restaurant stays open until late hours. It gets busy during early hours with salarymen, and later on with customers who have finished drinking. There are about 7 counter seats where you can order meat to be grilled right in front of you, making it popular among solo diners. On this day, I had a meal with a friend earlier, and then dropped by this place around midnight on my way home. Not feeling very hungry, I relaxed with some Kuro Kirishima shochu. I ordered chicken cartilage and horumon for grilling on the shichirin in front of me as a snack. There aren't many places with this kind of atmosphere around Nakasu, so it's a nice change of pace. Although I didn't order it this time, I recommend trying the pork horumon or tail meat. Apparently, the pork horumon is best enjoyed by grilling it quickly on the net with a group of friends, as the taste changes significantly depending on how it's cooked, according to the chef. The staff, including the chef from Miyazaki, his niece, and the part-timers, are all friendly and make dining here a pleasant experience.

In front of the charcoal grill, enjoying cooking meat while sipping on beer or shochu. It's a blissful moment. The friendly owner, a former pro surfer, warmly greets first-time customers and connects with regulars. He skillfully prepares fresh, high-quality meat and delicious salads. Whether dining at the counter for 1 or 2 people, a raised seating area for 3 or more, or a second-floor space for groups, you can savor the tasty dishes. It's a different experience from Korean BBQ or traditional barbecue.

I used to go to this old-fashioned, cozy yakiniku restaurant. The owner was really nice, and we would sit in the tatami room and enjoy dishes like local chicken and kalbi with delicious sauce. The duck was also very flavorful! There were interesting staff members who were into surfing. You can even sit at the counter by yourself. I was introduced to this place by a friend, and I found the prices reasonable for the quality of the food. They have TVs, which I like. It seems like a place where families can also enjoy. I will definitely visit again if I get the chance!
