In the second part of my visit to "Kani Unagi Yamashiro" in Hakata, I enjoyed a course that allowed me to savor both crab and eel. Overall, the dishes were delicious. I particularly liked the crispy grilled eel and the crab gratin with a crunchy surface. The eel bowl had a spicy seasoning and was rich in flavor. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with private rooms, making it suitable for special occasions or business meals. The price ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 yen per person. For more information, you can contact the restaurant at 080-7944-0303.

Fukuoka City, Hakata-ku, Hakata Ekimae 3-chome area - 5 minutes walk from JR Hakata Station! In the office district in front of Hakata Station, a "Michelin Guide 3-year consecutive award-winning restaurant" opened next to the traditional Edo-style sushi restaurant, called "Hakata Kani Unagi Yamashiro". The exterior is on the first floor of a building, while the interior is a calm Japanese-style space divided into "Sushi Corner" and "Kani Unagi Corner". The Kani Unagi Corner has private table seats in all rooms with a chic, pure Japanese design, creating a serene atmosphere. We tried the "Chef's Recommended Kaiseki Course". First, we had a platter of "5 types of appetizers" including "Walnut and Fig in White Miso", "Soft-boiled Octopus", "Pumpkin", "Squid Shinjo", and "Cream Cheese in Iburi Gakko Senbei", all of which were delicious. The sashimi was "Yellowtail", currently in season, with good fat content and a fresh texture. The seasonal delicacy was "Instant Smoked Bonito", which was as delicious as "Return Bonito" and "Skipjack Tuna". The grilled dish was "Mackerel with Yuzu Paste", with small yet delicious mackerel cooked to perfection by the Michelin chef. The steamed dish was "Steamed Rice with Autumn Vegetables", with a flavorful broth and colorful autumn vegetables creating a warm and comforting dish. The main dish, "Mini Domestic Eel Rice Bowl", had two large pieces of eel packed in a small box - starting with the eel was delicious, with a sauce that was not too sweet, complementing the fatty eel perfectly. The dessert was "Matcha Mousse", concluding a satisfying Chef's Recommended Kaiseki Course. Thank you for the meal. Enjoy Gourmet Life☆

I was lucky to be able to make a reservation on Tabelog even on the same day. However, I would have preferred to sit at the counter instead of a private room. It felt a bit lonely dining alone in a private room. The automatic reservation on Tabelog put me in a private room, but I understand that it's hard to get a counter seat with a same-day reservation. I ordered the chef's choice course. The appetizers of nimono, cream cheese, and Iburi Gakko paired well with the sake. The simmered kumquat was surprisingly delicious. The sushi course included flounder, squid, and medium fatty tuna. The rice was on the firmer side. The sashimi was sea bream. I wanted more of it! A mysterious dish was served, revealing smoked saury inside. The moment the lid was lifted, the aroma of smoke filled the air. The smoked saury paired perfectly with the dish. Personally, I would have liked a stronger aroma. The sushi included scallop, lean tuna, and horse mackerel. The highlight was the grilled yellowtail. The battleship sushi with sea urchin, caviar, and fatty tuna was delicious but a bit salty. The meal ended with a steamed egg custard with crab sauce, fatty tuna, conger eel, dried gourd roll, tamagoyaki, red miso soup, and matcha dessert. I'm not a fan of dried gourd, so that was a bit of a letdown at the end.

I was looking for a restaurant with private rooms due to the current situation. Although it was a private room, the partition was simple and I could hear the conversations of the people next to us. The first dish had 5 items on one plate, offering a variety of flavors. The rest of the dishes were all delicious, but for the price of 7800 yen per person for lunch, it was not worth it. I should have gone for the lunch with eel. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice.

At the end of the year, I visited a restaurant in Hakata that I had been curious about for a while. As a solo diner, I was shown to a private room for two. I started with a draft beer and enjoyed the appetizer that was served shortly after. The taste was average, nothing special. The main dish of eel rice bowl was a bit disappointing as the eel was slightly dry. The rice was cooked to my liking but overall, it was just okay. After finishing the eel rice bowl, I had to wait quite a while for dessert to be served. I don't think I will be visiting this restaurant again.

I had dinner at the sushi restaurant next door before, and my wealthy senior suggested we try this place as well, so we visited. The entrance is the same as the sushi restaurant. This place mainly serves Japanese cuisine and we were guided to a private room. First, we had appetizers - pumpkin tofu, white miso with persimmon, simmered octopus, crispy butterbur sprout sandwich, and squid shinjo. These were similar to the sushi side. The squid shinjo allowed us to taste the squid well and was delicious. Next up was raw sea bass. It was cut quite thick. I don't often eat raw sea bass, so I enjoyed it slowly. Then came the seared mackerel with a performance of adding a smoky flavor. At the sushi place, it was bonito, but I preferred the mackerel. It had a nice rareness without being overcooked. And then the grilled yellowtail, chawanmushi. The flavor was strong and went well with sake. Finally, we had eel rice bowl! I haven't had eel rice bowl at other restaurants to compare, but it was delicious! The fatty eel with sweet sauce and white rice was so good! We enjoyed it even more with extra sauce and sansho pepper. For dessert, we had matcha mousse to finish. The staff, though young, provided very polite service. A classy restaurant with excellent service! Thank you for the meal.

"Hakata Sushi Unagi Kani Shiorian Yamashiro" located in Hakata Station area in Fukuoka City, is a restaurant that opened last year by the renowned Japanese cuisine restaurant Yamashiro, which has been featured in the Michelin Guide for 3 consecutive years in Tokyo's Ginza district. The restaurant is just a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station, offering a prime location to enjoy the Michelin-starred flavors. The interior of the restaurant is divided into a sushi counter and private rooms with a white wood theme, as well as private rooms for eel and crab dishes with a black theme. During my visit, I was seated in the private room for eel and crab dishes on the right side. I opted for the Chef's Recommended Course priced at ¥12,800, which included a variety of dishes such as assorted appetizers, sashimi, smoked mackerel, grilled amberjack, steamed seasonal vegetables, mini eel rice bowl, soup, pickles, and dessert. The dining experience was exquisite, with a focus on savoring seasonal delicacies before finishing with the eel rice bowl. While typical eel dishes like eel rice bowls and steamed eel may come to mind when craving eel, this restaurant offers a unique dining experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine. The exceptional hospitality and luxurious atmosphere make it a perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a sophisticated adult dining experience. Whether you're looking to enjoy eel or create lasting memories during your visit to Hakata, this restaurant comes highly recommended. If you find yourself unsure of where to dine around Hakata Station, be sure to check out this restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal! 😊 For beautiful photos and videos, please search on Instagram for k.t.r.from_fukuoka.

About a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station, you will come across a restaurant with a traditional Japanese atmosphere. Even before entering, the excitement builds with the bamboo decorations outside. Inside, there are counter seats and private rooms for groups of all sizes to enjoy. The delicious dishes, from appetizers to the main course, create a sense of happiness. The stylish presentation and tasty side dishes add to the overall experience. As you savor the soup and grilled fish, delight in the flavors of the sea. Each dish, even without soy sauce, bursts with deliciousness. The use of dry ice adds a touch of excitement. The happiness level only increases as you progress through the meal. The finale of grilled eel is incredibly delicious, leaving you smiling with satisfaction. The traditional Japanese dessert tea brings a sense of completion and fullness. Overall, it was a delightful experience, even better than the first visit.

I found this restaurant when I searched around Hakata Station. It is located on the first floor of a building and has a very luxurious atmosphere. The main seating option is private rooms, but you can also eat sushi at the counter. This time, I wanted to eat eel, so I chose a course that came with unagi-don. The course included several dishes, some of which were particularly delicious. The bonito sashimi is not just regular sashimi, it comes with a smoked flavor that is quite interesting. The grilled mackerel is well seasoned and has a rich flavor of the fish. Personally, I like grilled fish the most, and I think I could eat a whole mackerel with this dish. Lastly, the unagi-don. It is not a very large portion of eel, and the fat content is a bit low. After trying various dishes, this amount of eel was just right. The balance of rice and sauce was also good. Yamashiro-san is a great memory of Hakata. Thank you for the delicious meal.

"Chef's Choice Kaiseki Course" for 12,800 yen, featuring a variety of dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, seasonal specialties, grilled dishes, steamed dishes, mini eel rice bowl, soup, pickles, and dessert. It had been about a year since my last visit to Yamashiro-san. This time, instead of sushi, I opted for the Japanese course meal. Upon entering, I noticed that the counter seats in front and the private room on the left were for sushi, while the private room on the right was for Japanese cuisine. After toasting and getting settled, the appetizer platter arrived. It included pumpkin tofu, fig and walnut salad, tender octopus, squid with yam, and cream cheese with Iburi Gakko. The pumpkin tofu was particularly delicious with its gentle sweetness and smooth texture. This was followed by yellowtail sashimi, and then a seasonal delicacy of smoked bonito. The aroma of the smoked fish was delightful, served with grated green onion and ginger. Next was the grilled mackerel with a crispy and juicy texture. The steamed dish was a savory chawanmushi with colorful carrots and snow peas. The meal concluded with a mini eel rice bowl, pickles, seaweed miso soup, and a delightful dessert of matcha mousse. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

It's a bit complicated to explain, but there is a branch of the Michelin one-star restaurant, Hakata Sushi Shiori-an Yamashiro, located in Hakata Ekimae 3-chome where I have visited twice before. Inside this branch, there is a separate section where you can enjoy eel, crab, and Japanese cuisine called Hakata Kani Unagi Yamashiro. They offer dishes such as eel bowl, eel rice bowl, and a lunch course. I had the lunch course for 7800 yen, which I reserved in advance. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with private rooms on the right side as you enter. I ordered a drink, opting for oolong tea. The attention to detail was evident, even in the ice cubes used. The meal started with five types of appetizers, followed by sashimi, mushroom paste chawanmushi, grilled mackerel, and sushi. Each dish was meticulously prepared and delicious. The meal ended with red miso soup and a matcha mousse dessert. Overall, I was very satisfied with the high-quality course meal. Next time, I plan to try their eel dishes as they are known for their eel offerings.

It's a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station to the shop, making it convenient for both after work and entertaining with private rooms. The calm atmosphere from the entrance sets the tone for a rewarding experience after a hard day's work, enjoying delicious eel and crab dishes. The appetizer features Yamasiro's branding, with smoked cheese and iburi-gakko making a luxurious snack. The eel and grilled white eel dishes are both delicious, with a special sauce that complements the flavors of Kyushu. The grilled white eel is a delightful surprise with its smoky presentation, paired with rock salt and wasabi for a delightful experience. The three types of crab dishes are also a treat, with crab miso, sea water pearls, and a crab and salmon roe bowl offering a unique and artistic taste. The crab gratin is creamy and rich, a stark contrast to the usual dishes. The green tea mousse dessert is subtly sweet, allowing you to savor the tea's flavor. With a Michelin one-star rating in Tokyo's Ginza, the restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with exceptional service, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable time.

I heard that there is a delicious restaurant in Hakata, so I visited during my business trip. This time, I had the crab and eel course! I started with a toast with sparkling sake. I had the Nana Ken Sparkling Yam No Kasumi (360ml) for 3000 yen. Sparkling sake is often sweet, but this one was not too sweet and refreshing, which paired well with the dishes. It's rare to find a restaurant that serves sparkling sake, so I was really excited. -Appetizer- It was a platter of 5 different dishes: - Wagyu beef stew with a firm texture and rich flavor. - White sweet potato from Kagoshima, a unique dish called Marunaka. It was slightly sweet with a creamy texture, very delicious. - Squid pickled in salt, not too salty, with a gentle and elegant taste. - Squid shinjo with wasabi on top, adding a nice kick to the fluffy texture of the shinjo. - Cream cheese and Iburi Gakko sandwiched in a crispy shell, a great combination. -Crab Shell Platter- Layers of crab miso, tomato, anchovy cabbage, and snow crab meat, topped with a jellied vinegar sauce and colorful sea water pearls. The presentation was impressive and the flavors were new and delicious. Mixing it all together, the crab meat was plentiful and full of flavor, with a refreshing taste from the vinegar jelly. The sea water pearls added a nice texture, and the crab miso was the star of the dish. -Grilled Dish- Smoked white grilled eel topped with shishito pepper. The aroma of the smoke was amazing, lingering until the end. The eel was tender, with crispy skin, perfectly cooked. It was served with pink salt and wasabi, which complemented the eel's delicate flavor. -Crab Rice Bowl- This was the highlight. A bowl of crab and salmon roe, with delicious seasoning and a generous amount of ingredients. The rice was cooked perfectly, with a slightly firm texture. -Steamed Dish- A chawanmushi with crab meat, and a gentle dashi broth that was delicious. -Side Dish- Crab gratin with spinach, lots of crab in a creamy sauce, topped with crispy breadcrumbs. The Western dish was well-seasoned and surprisingly good. -Eel Rice Bowl- As with the grilled eel, the eel in this dish was cooked perfectly. The eel was tender, the skin crispy, and the sauce soaked in well. The rice was carefully cooked, and extra sauce was provided for those who wanted more. The sauce itself was excellent. -Pickles- Cute and unique pickled vegetables in a gourd-shaped container. -Miso Soup- Miso soup with watercress and seaweed, comforting and warm. -Dessert- Apple compote with jelly on top, a light and refreshing way to end the meal. Every dish was outstanding, with a mix of traditional and modern elements, using high-quality ingredients. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were delicious. I had a very elegant dining experience.

I made a reservation for 12 o'clock, but even at 12:05, the restaurant was still not open. It would have been helpful if they let us wait inside because it was cold. There were a few people waiting. The eel was really delicious. I wish the service was better since the prices were a bit high for lunch. The food was tasty though.

I made a reservation for 12:00 on the same day and visited the restaurant. However, they were not able to seat me until after 12:00. It seemed like everyone else who was there was there for the sushi. I ordered the eel rice bowl for 3,300 yen (2,1,3,2,1). I like my rice on the firmer side, but this one was too hard for my liking. The sauce was similar to the sweet sauce used on sushi. I think next time I will try their sushi instead. Thank you for the meal.

Michelin Guide Tokyo 1-star for 3 consecutive years, Ginza Shiorian Yama Shiro branch! This is a visit to "Hakata Crab Eel Yama Shiro" in Tokyo. The atmosphere here is different from the Tokyo restaurant, with private rooms but a strong izakaya-style color scheme. Below is the omakase course (9900 yen): Appetizer, Crab Shell Assortment, Grilled Dish, Crab Rice Bowl, Steamed Dish, Eel Dish, Clear Soup, Dessert. The appetizers were all elegant and sophisticated. The Crab Shell Assortment was visually intriguing with a ponzu jelly and a mix of crab meat, red and yellow vegetables. The Grilled Dish was presented under a glass dome, with a smoky flavor from apple chips. The Crab Rice Bowl with snow crab and salmon roe was a favorite, and the Steamed Dish with snow crab was flavorful. The Eel Dish was served in a bento box with just the right amount of eel and rice. The Clear Soup with miso and seaweed was comforting, and the Dessert with apple was a perfect palate cleanser. The service was attentive and the eel dish was particularly delicious.

What I received was the "Dinner Limited" Chef's Choice Course for ¥9,900 (tax included). The course included: Appetizers: Spinach ohitashi with ikura, shrimp marinated in Shaoxing wine, oyster with white miso, simmered abalone, cream cheese and Iburi Gakko (smoked daikon radish), crab shell assortment with ponzu jelly. Grilled dish: Grilled eel with smoked apple chips, served with rock salt and wasabi, crab and ikura mini rice bowl. Steamed dish: Steamed crab chawanmushi, eel rice bowl - the eel portion was small but sufficient. New fragrance: Hyotan-zuke (gourd pickles) and others. Soup: Consomme. Dessert: Apple confit. Drinks: Inedit beer by El Bulli - ¥1,200, Highball with Nikka Tailored - ¥2,000, Glass of Pinot Noir red wine - ¥700. The restaurant has a sushi counter, private rooms, and separate private rooms for serving eel and crab. All rooms except the counter are private. The hospitality of the staff was excellent, a sign of a good restaurant. The meal was served in the order listed above. The movable wall private rooms were simple but effective in maintaining social distancing during the pandemic. I made a reservation for the ¥9,900 Chef's Choice Course. The staff's hospitality was excellent. We started with a toast using Inedit beer, a premium Spanish beer developed by Ferran Adria, the former chef of the three-star Spanish restaurant El Bulli. The beer had a distinct orange peel flavor. The crab shell assortment was served next, and I paired it with a highball made with Nikka Tailored. The eel smoke was a delightful surprise, and the eel rice bowl was just the right size. It was a satisfying course at a reasonable price. It's not extravagant, but it's a good value for the quality. It's not often that you get to enjoy crab and eel together. Thank you for the meal!

We visited the famous restaurant "Yamashiro" in Hakata for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We had high expectations as it was recommended by a family member, and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed 10 dishes featuring plenty of crab and eel. The crab gratin, crab chawanmushi, and smoked eel were particularly impressive. It was our first time trying so many crab dishes, and we were very satisfied with the variety of flavors. The drink selection was also extensive, with a wide range of highball options. Normally, I always order a tomato sour when I go out, and the tomato sour at this restaurant was the best I've ever had. The sweetness of the tomato added a unique and delicious flavor. The restaurant offers private rooms, making it a great choice for those looking to enjoy a leisurely meal in Hakata. Highly recommend "Yamashiro" for a special dining experience.

I happened to visit this restaurant on a whim before my planned lunch. It just opened on November 1st. It's the Hakata branch of Ginza Shiorian Yamashiro, a one-star Michelin restaurant for three consecutive years. They offer lunch menus such as a sushi omakase nigiri course for 2000 yen, an omakase (premium) course for 3000 yen, and an omakase (special premium) course for 6000 yen. They also have six types of eel dishes, including an eel rice bowl set for 1650 yen, an eel box set for 3300 yen, and an eel box meal for 5500 yen. Since I plan to visit multiple places, I ordered the eel rice bowl set, which is said to be prepared by a famous restaurant. I was guided to a private room where I tried the eel rice bowl. The eel had a crispy and fluffy texture, and the sauce was slightly spicy, making the rice go down smoothly. It was delicious, but the eel's origin is a secret from a partnered farm. When I asked about the meaning of "prepared by a famous restaurant," the staff from Hakata seemed unaware of which famous restaurant it was.

It seems to be a branch of a famous restaurant in Tokyo. You can enjoy luxurious Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. There is also a sushi counter at the back, and the sashimi is of high quality. Private rooms are the main option, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about others, even on a date.

Each dish was beautifully presented and the flavors were not too strong, leaving a good impression. The lightly seasoned salmon roe was unforgettable. I truly felt like I was in a sushi restaurant.
