On this day, I went shopping at Nafco and decided to have lunch here. Of course, I ordered the Chirashi sushi. The Chirashi had more vinegar rice and less toppings, but was it really high-quality Chirashi? (laughs) On the other hand, the regular nigiri that the staff ordered seemed luxurious and fancy. Thank you for the meal! I ended up leaving some rice behind.

On this day, I was planning to go to a different restaurant, but the parking lot was full and there were people dressed in formal attire lined up, so I wondered if it was a funeral. This won't work. I'll go somewhere else. After various events, I arrived at this sushi restaurant. It's "Ichiro Sushi" in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. When I entered the restaurant, I found a cozy atmosphere with a counter and a small raised seating area, where the husband and wife duo were attentive. Remembering a review by a friend, I ordered the Nigiri Set (1,900 yen). They even arranged it on a wooden geta for the photo. The set included tuna, squid, amberjack, sea bream, shrimp, scallop, salmon, and salmon roe. The ingredients were generous in size, with the rice also being substantial, making it a satisfying meal for one person. The tuna was like medium fatty tuna, and the shrimp was also delicious. The white fish and squid had a strong sweetness, and overall, both the quality and quantity of the sushi were fulfilling. I also received a miso soup and a serving of yuzu daikon pickles as a service, and I particularly enjoyed the flavor of the miso soup. The yuzu daikon pickles were also tasty, but I forgot to take a photo and ended up eating them all, so please just look at the plate. Speaking of plates, the soy sauce dish was made of Koishihara-yaki pottery, which is often seen in Japanese restaurants, and it made me happy for some reason. Keep going, Koishihara-yaki pottery, from disaster-stricken area to a place of recovery as soon as possible... Thank you for the meal. The sushi may look ordinary, but it was very delicious. I also enjoyed chatting with the husband and wife. My happiness was found here.

At the second restaurant for lunch, I visited Ichiro Sushi. They only have a regular menu and do not offer lunch specials. I ordered the 1200 yen assorted sushi, with smaller portions of rice. The assortment included squid, tuna, cured mackerel, yellowtail, octopus, shrimp, scallop, and salmon. They also served a complimentary daikon radish pickles and miso soup. The sushi pieces were quite large, even with the smaller rice portions. The cured mackerel was a bit salty, but the tuna and scallop were delicious. The octopus was tender and tasty. The pickles provided a nice sweet touch as a palate cleanser. The chef and the hostess were both very talkative, and we ended up chatting for about an hour. The chef mentioned his hobby of building ship models from scratch, displaying one in the restaurant. He said he only makes one per year. It was a fun and enjoyable experience. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a restaurant I had been to before. I happened to be hungry and it was nearby, so I decided to visit again. The place is next to Nafco in Zoshoku-ma, there is no parking lot though. I sat at the counter and ordered nigiri. While waiting for the nigiri, they served a small appetizer. The meal started with tuna and squid, and then sushi was brought one after another. There were no intricate decorations or fancy ingredients, just fresh and large sushi rice, which gave a sense of a popular sushi restaurant. It was delicious!

Today's lunch was here (^o^) I ordered a mixed sushi plate and for the kids, a Tekka Maki and Natto Maki. After a while, the kids' rolls arrived. Then, the mixed plate and the mixed sushi plate were brought out one after the other. The mixed plate and the mixed sushi plate are not that different, haha. The rice is soft and tightly packed, and the fish pieces are large. This kind of casual counter sushi place is usually like this, right? The owner is friendly, so I would like to come back here if I have the chance.

Located in Higashi-Kumamachi, next to the Nafco Minami Fukuoka store, is a sushi restaurant that has been in business for over 40 years, known for its friendly owners. You can enjoy a selection of sashimi and nigiri sushi, along with a cup of sake, all for around 3,000 yen. This traditional sushi restaurant in Zasshonokuma has a cozy atmosphere with a counter seating for 7 and 3 small tables. The welcoming elderly couple who run the restaurant greeted me warmly. I ordered some sashimi and sake. The sashimi platter was beautifully presented, with thick slices of tuna followed by a colorful arrangement of sea bream and ikura-topped squid. The squid was served as a single portion and had a nice texture. The sushi selection included tuna, squid, amberjack, shrimp, octopus, salmon, mackerel, and flatfish, totaling 8 pieces. The mackerel had a light seasoning typical of Fukuoka. The sushi rice was on the larger side, slightly heavy but not overly firm. The meal ended with a fish broth soup made from sea bream bones, which was rich and flavorful. The total cost was 3,750 yen, which was surprisingly affordable. While the restaurant doesn't have any standout features, it is a good place for a casual and satisfying meal. Opting for smaller rice portions with the same set might enhance the dining experience.
