✳︎Salted Vegetable Ramen
The portion size is quite generous! There's plenty of bean sprouts. The fried vegetable components mixed in the soup are delicious. Surprisingly, the taste is a bit light. I added some pepper and it was tasty. I don't eat ramen often, but when I do, it's always delicious.
✳︎Gyoza (Dumplings)
Wow, these are so delicious! I was surprised because they were quite burnt when I first tried them. Does the way they are cooked make a difference? They are juicy and have my favorite thin skin! The best. If they are cooked like this every time, I will definitely come back for more!
✳︎Fried Rice
This one was too salty for my liking, so I ended up leaving most of it uneaten. The texture was really good though, nice and fluffy. Thank you for the meal. ★

"Tantanmen" for 950 yen and "small rice" for 150 yen. It is located across the street from Fukagawa Michi-no-Eki. Although I often visit the main store in Asahikawa, this is my first time here. The interior of the store is very clean and has a sense of cleanliness. This is necessary for stores with many tourists. I ordered the "Tantanmen," which has good reviews online. I also got a small rice as the spicy soup goes well with rice. I usually go for the Ichizou Ramen, but this time I tried the Tantanmen for the first time. It took 17 minutes to be served, which was a bit of a wait. The taste was good, but not as amazing as they claim. I wish there was more sesame flavor. The taste only gets slightly richer with the addition of meat miso. My companion ordered the "Ankake Yakisoba," which was more appealing. As we were leaving, the attitude of the staff member who tried to justify a big misunderstanding made me a bit annoyed, so that's a negative point. I am an adult so I didn't feel like arguing there. However, it would have been better if they simply said, "I apologize for the mistake!" It ruined the mood a bit!"

I was impressed! On the second day of the three-day weekend, after returning from salmon jigging in Abashiri, we searched for a lunch spot and faced several unfortunate situations like closures and full parking lots. Eventually, we found a place with an empty parking lot and decided to visit. We ordered quickly and soon received our bowls. The appearance of the dishes was a symbol of careful preparation, the soup had no fishy smell, and the noodles were curly and had a wheat flavor, which made the entire bowl very satisfying. I had the negi ramen, while my companions had soy sauce ramen, and we were all very satisfied. It was a great ramen experience (and the salmon was also a hit for all three of us).

It's getting hot, so I felt like having cold noodles. I had it last year too, but it's delicious! Lots of ingredients! The noodles were a bit clumped together in places! lol It was my first time having cold noodles with a hot spring egg on top. The yolk was creamy, and it was super delicious when eaten with the noodles! The pickled ginger was a nice touch. Personally, I felt like it had a pretty strong vinegar flavor. The sauce was a bit on the salty side. Perfect for a quick lunch. Thank you for the meal! ★

Before getting on the highway in Fukagawa, we stopped for lunch at this place since we had already visited other nearby restaurants. It is located at the intersection of the road leading to Fukagawa IC and Route 12. It was lunchtime on a weekday, with a few customers already inside and more coming in. I ordered the Negi Ramen (shoyu, large size) for 1100 yen. The menu here is quite extensive, with various options like curry rice, gyoza, fried rice, and different types of ramen such as Salmon Ramen, Negi Ramen, Dan Dan Noodles, Shiitake Ramen, Cantonese Noodles, Braised Pork Miso Ramen, Scallop Ramen, Wonton Noodles, Cold Ramen, and Cold Tomato Ramen. I didn't check reviews before coming in, so I was surprised. Wait, is this really Asahikawa Ramen? It doesn't have that oily lard film or the double soup with meat and fish. The noodles seem like they could be from Asahikawa though. Disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

I usually eat miso ramen, but this time I ordered tantanmen for 950 yen. The soup was initially thin but became thick later, and the flavor was strong and delicious. I remember eating it a few years ago, but it seems like something has changed... Maybe the nutty flavor has decreased a bit? This restaurant seems to make everything delicious.

After eating Genghis Khan, I decided to have some ramen as well. The ramen was quite ordinary, with a soy sauce flavor. The restaurant was crowded with tourists. Thank you for the meal~

I finished work in Asahikawa City, Nagayama around noon and headed back to Sapporo. I didn't have any particular place in mind for lunch, so I decided to look for a restaurant along the way on Route 12 (Asahikawa Shin-Do) away from the central area of Asahikawa. After driving about 30km, I couldn't find any restaurants except for a bakery. Eventually, I found a ramen shop in Fukagawa called "Original Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura Fukagawa Branch." Although they claim to serve "original Asahikawa ramen," I wonder if that's really the case.
I decided to try their seasonal dish, the "Cold Tomato Ramen" for 1,000 yen, available from June 1st to August 31st. The tomato-based soup with whole tomatoes and fresh tomato slices was a delight for tomato lovers like me. It tasted just as I had imagined, and the rice on the side was also delicious. It would have been even better with some Tabasco or grated cheese. The only downside was the small and hard-to-eat lotus root garnish, which seemed out of place.
Looking at the menu again, I noticed they offer around 50 different types of ramen. I think having too many options might not be the best for both the restaurant and customers. Perhaps they should consider narrowing down their menu selection.

I suddenly crave soy sauce ramen sometimes. Soy sauce ramen (◎) Wow! The taste I was looking for! Rich and delicious! Just really tasty! I'm sorry, I honestly didn't have high expectations, but it's really delicious! However, I'm not a ramen expert, so I don't have much credibility, sorry. I like the lively atmosphere of this restaurant! The clean interior and kitchen are reassuring (laughs). Thank you for the meal ★

I wonder what people do in Fukagawa City at night. Hmm, maybe just going to izakayas... I didn't feel like going to a chain restaurant, so I went to Ramen Ichikura, which has its main store in Asahikawa next door. I've heard of it before. I had the salmon broth ramen. It was light and refreshing!! I tend to prefer rich and heavy ramen, so it was different for me.

Outside of the city, I went on a tour to meet the Cat Bus at the Totoro Pass in Fukagawa City. At the corner of the intersection of the national highway leading to the Cat Bus, there is a shop known for its original Asahikawa Ramen. I tried their shoyu ramen, typical of Asahikawa Ramen. The soup was light and didn't have a prominent seafood or tonkotsu flavor. I think Asahikawa Ramen is easier to enjoy without any preconceived notions. I ordered the noodles firm, as it is an Asahikawa Ramen shop. The noodles that arrived were really firm, thin, curly noodles. They seemed to be low-hydration noodles, but the surface of the noodles was smooth and lacked the flavor of wheat. The noodles did not soften over time by absorbing the soup, they remained al dente throughout. Maybe if you don't think about it as Asahikawa Ramen, it's just a casual bowl of ramen. I didn't see any salmon broth ramen or ramen with lots of green onions that I remember from my childhood experiences with Asahikawa Ramen. There must be an original Asahikawa Ramen hidden somewhere in this shop.

Hitokura-san, when it comes to...salmon bushi ramen is a favorite ♬ I have had it several times at the Asahikawa store (*^^*) Usually, I finish with ramen...lol This Fukagawa store was my first visit...♪* On the way, I spotted it and decided to go for it...♪*
【Cantonese noodles】♬ 1000 yen
I have had Cantonese noodles at a shop in Asahikawa Sanrokumachi before...but on this day, I was in a sauce mood ♬ Hot with a strong sauce filled with vegetables and seafood ♡ The hot soup with a clear soy sauce base and low-water noodles go very well together ✩.*˚ Everything, the sauce, soup, and noodles, were all hot and delicious ♡ It's the usual way to add vinegar halfway through for flavor change with Cantonese noodles ♬ It was delicious until the end ♬ Thank you for the meal~(*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡

I had the Salmon Broth Ramen Shoyu. When it was brought to me, there was a faint but pleasant aroma of salmon broth. As I slurped the soup, the aroma became even more pronounced. You can choose from shoyu, shio, or miso flavors, and I chose shoyu this time. The traditional clear soup was delightful. The thin curly noodles were cooked perfectly. The generous amount of chopped green onions was also a nice touch. It was a nostalgic taste of old-fashioned ramen. Thank you for the meal.

【Revisited on March 17, 2021】After a total of 26 nights of work this time, with 4 nights in Furano and 1 night in Rumoi, that means I stayed in Asahikawa for 21 nights. The work at the current site is all completed after the pavement restoration in Fukagawa where I am staying now. Before returning to Sapporo, I revisited "Original Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura Fukagawa Store" located very close to the site. Despite it being only 11:30, the parking lot of the store was already full of cars. However, since the restaurant has a large capacity with many seats, I chose to sit at the counter seats on the side where no one was sitting, separated by the open kitchen. During my business trip to Asahikawa, even the famous Yamakawa insisted on soy sauce ramen instead of salt, so I indulged in Asahikawa ramen. But I was starting to get tired of it (laughs), so on this day, I ordered the miso vegetable ramen (900 yen) and a small bowl of rice (150 yen). Compared to the soy vegetable ramen I had last time, it was slightly less impactful, but the miso in Asahikawa ramen is also delicious. (^q^) Thank you for the meal♪ #Fukagawa Gourmet #Lonely Business Trip Gourmet #Fukagawa Lunch #Original Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura Fukagawa Store #Original Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura #Ichikura Ramen #Ichikura #Asahikawa Ramen #Miso Vegetable Ramen #Yummy Yummy

[First visit on February 25, 2021] This marks the beginning of another business trip. This time, I will be staying for 2 nights and 3 days, returning home once, and then I have plans to stay for about 10 nights starting next Monday. On this day, after stopping by Rumoi, I visited a site in Fukagawa and asked if I could park my work vehicle on the premises. It was around noon, so I decided to have lunch at "Original Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura Fukagawa Store" near the site. Since it's an Asahikawa ramen shop, I thought I'd play it safe and ordered the soy sauce vegetable ramen with a side of small rice. It had been a while since I had vegetable ramen, and the savory aroma of the stir-fried vegetables infused into the soup really whetted my appetite. The vegetables were all crunchy, the soup had just the right amount of saltiness and richness, and the low-water-content Asahikawa noodles were delicious, offering a very gentle flavor. I unexpectedly encountered the Asahikawa ramen not to be underestimated in Fukagawa. Thank you for the meal. I visited "Ganso Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura Fukagawa Store" located across the road from the Michi no Eki Rice Land Fukagawa for the first time. The parking lot and the interior of the restaurant are quite spacious. I had previously visited the main store in Asahikawa after drinking, and this time I ordered the menu item I had tried back then, the "Ichikura Ramen (Shoyu) for 950 yen". The vibrant green negi spread across the bowl is quite impressive. The sweet and mellow soup paired well with the low water content, strong wheat-flavored noodles, making it very delicious. The bowl was filled with plenty of negi, as well as white negi on top, and hidden beneath were chashu, egg, and menma, creating a well-balanced dish. I also tried a bit of the "Salted Vegetable Ramen for 850 yen" that my companion ordered, which had plenty of vegetables in a light soup and was delicious.

I stopped by Asahikawa Ramen Ichikura, located across from the Fukagawa Michi no Eki, while passing through on a drive. It was a Sunday afternoon and the parking lot was full, so I was expecting a wait. However, the inside of the restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating available. When looking at the menu, I noticed they had Salmon Broth Ramen, which seemed unique and intriguing, so I decided to try the soy sauce flavor. The ramen that arrived had a clear soup that made me doubt if it was really soy sauce flavor, as it looked more like a salt-based ramen. The soup had a subtle soy sauce taste, but the salmon broth added a rich and delicious flavor. The noodles were white curly noodles. My husband ordered the Ichikura Ramen, which had plenty of green onions on top and was soy sauce flavored. The soup had a dark soy sauce color and a savory and flavorful taste. It was also very delicious.

The noodles were medium-thin and slightly chewy, similar to the noodles used in Asahikawa ramen. The soy sauce soup had a gentle flavor, a bit clearer than typical Asahikawa soy sauce ramen. Despite the quiet atmosphere, the restaurant had a large presence along the national highway and was almost full during lunchtime, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. It was evident how popular the restaurant is.

2020☆ 17th cup, a shop that suddenly appears while driving on a national highway from Asahikawa! It is located across from the Michi-no-Eki, and with no knowledge of the area and the current situation, we were worried it might close early or not be open. Luckily, it was open until 8:30 PM, with one group of customers already inside and us, a group of three, waiting. If we missed this place, we would have to go all the way to Asahikawa or Takikawa to find a meal. It's called Asahikawa Ramen, so I ordered the special soy sauce ramen. Essentially, it's a chashu ramen. The chashu was delicious, and the soup was tasty. The noodles were also good. I'm getting used to the mild soy sauce flavor, and I now understand why Orin-san doesn't like adding seaweed (laughs). My son is only six years old, but he asked if he could also have some salted wontons. Wontons with gyoza? (laughs) Will he start eating more variety of food from now on? I received one, but he wanted more! (laughs) It was delicious. Asahikawa Ramen is quite intriguing. Speaking of which, I remember there being cup noodles from Hachiya. I'm curious about what they're like. Thank you for the meal. (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

Ah, the Heisei era has ended and it's the first year of Reiwa. The Heisei era was a time when the world was changing and various things were happening. So, I stopped by at the new Totsukawa station and decided to have a meal at the Michikawa Michi no Eki in Fukagawa. When I looked around, I saw a ramen shop. It was my first visit, so I decided to give it a try. The ramen shop was quite busy, so I assumed their ramen must be good. But to my surprise, they also had "Ankake Yakisoba" on the menu. My companion ordered the ramen, while I went for the Ankake Yakisoba. The result? Both dishes were delicious in their own way.
