A curry rice specialty shop opened in the northwest of Nishi-Nakajima Minamikata. It was a bright yet calm place.■■■ Shop ■■■During lunch break, I decided to explore a less frequented alley and stumbled upon a curry rice shop that I had never seen before. And there was still a line outside. It must be a new opening! I couldn't resist going in (laughs) and was immediately drawn into the world of curry rice. The shop was empty around 12 o'clock. It's easy to miss this location even with a new shop opening here. The shop was not yet listed on Tabelog. The service had a calm and cozy feel, similar to a café. I noticed jazz music playing in the background, giving it a café-like ambiance. The shop had more depth than it appeared from the outside, with cat paintings and ornaments displayed here and there. They had Wi-Fi, and the counter seats had outlets, making it a comfortable place to relax. The menu was inclusive of tax, offering regular, beef cutlet curry, and pork curry. The beef cutlet curry was made with Japanese beef and started at 1400 yen, which was quite a high price. They also served alcohol.■■■ Food ■■■I usually go for the plain curry, but this time, I decided to try the Insta-worthy Nyanko-burg Curry.▼ Nyanko-burg Curry M (rice 250g) 950 yen (December 2019)A large cat-shaped hamburger was served, bigger than I had imagined. The curry was yellow with minced meat in it. Taking a bite, I noticed that it had a different taste compared to the typical Osaka curry. It didn't taste like demi-glace, beef sinew, or Indian curry. It reminded me more of a vegetable curry. The spiciness was moderate, and it didn't have a distinctive aroma, but the flavors were well-balanced. The rice was soft, like the one served in set meals. The hamburger was thick, about 1cm in thickness. It had a fine grind, blending well with the curry sauce. It had a meaty flavor and was a good hamburger.■■■ Closing ■■■It was nice that the shop was not crowded. I recommend nearby office workers to visit before it gets busy. The nearby curry rice shops like Men Fukurou offer a homely curry, while Rumi-chan specializes in spiciness, and Turban serves a well-rounded popular curry. It's fun to explore the different types of curry. Thank you for the meal.
