After finishing work in Shinsaibashi, I passed by almost a year later. The three handsome guys were surprisingly refreshing in the hot season. And friendly. On this day, I ordered this. Melt-in-your-mouth Soki soba set: 1,000 yen. It's understandable that the price has gone up from last year given the circumstances. Now, just looking at the drool-inducing Soki soba. Literally, the melt-in-your-mouth pork ribs are exquisite! Sweet, fragrant, and tender. The soup is made from pork bones, bonito flakes, and kelp, and it's delicious. Zuzuzuzu~ I could drink this all day. The slightly wavy flat noodles are chewy. You can enjoy the texture. I won't get tired of this either. I added coriander and pickled ginger halfway through to enjoy a change in flavor. The spicy kick and the aroma of awamori linger in the nose for a delightful aftertaste. I must not forget the cooked rice. It has a fragrant and rich taste. The portion is just right for an elderly person like me. The cucumber with sesame oil served as a palate cleanser. The staff and I talked about awamori, and I got to see a 10-year-old aged sake. Oh, it looks delicious. I'll have to come back to drink this. I paid quickly with PayPay. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating Okinawa soba again, so I went with some colleagues from work. The atmosphere, music, and staff at the restaurant all made me feel like I was in Okinawa. The meat was cooked slowly and was very tender. The flavored rice was also delicious.

In the past, Okinawa had the longest life expectancy in Japan for both men and women. Recently, the ranking for men has been declining, believed to be due to the prevalence of fast food, known as the "Okinawa Crisis". Traditional Okinawan cuisine is known for promoting longevity. I visited a Okinawan restaurant in Minami Senba. The restaurant only has a long counter. It was opened just over a year ago. Managed by two Okinawan boys from Naha. I ordered Sanpin tea, the basic Okinawan dish, along with their recommended two-layer handmade Jimami tofu, island pickled shallots, and Okinawan jumbo bell peppers. The Jimami tofu is made with pistachios and peanuts, and has a high level of taste. It tasted like a dessert but apparently goes well with Awamori. It also pairs well with Sanpin tea. The fresh island pickled shallots were in season and delicious, as you can eat the stem as well. The jumbo bell peppers had no bitterness at all. When eaten with meat miso, it was rich in minerals and explosively delicious. I wanted to try the Agu pork steak, but unfortunately it was sold out. Instead, I ordered the simmered Agu pork. Agu pork is different from the cartilage Agu pork found in Okinawa soba. The simmered Agu pork was surprisingly delicious and easy to cut with chopsticks. For the finale, I had the three-layered pork Okinawa soba. The homemade noodles had a firm texture. The soup, made with bonito flakes, anchovies, and pork bones, was one of the most delicious I've had in Okinawa soba. When eaten with the three-layered pork, the flavors exploded. This Okinawan restaurant in Osaka is of a very high standard. It's rare to find such quality Okinawan cuisine in Osaka. I will definitely come back. Next time, I want to try the Agu pork that I've been wanting to eat.

Last week, on my way back from a business trip, I stumbled upon a small restaurant. I arrived feeling the remnants of summer, sweating profusely. With only 6 counter seats and 2 small tables, the cozy interior felt like a little piece of Okinawa. The background music was Okinawan folk songs, setting the perfect atmosphere. The back bar was lined with various types of awamori, a traditional Okinawan liquor. To top it off, there were two young, handsome staff members who perfectly embodied the Okinawan spirit. As someone with fair skin, I felt like the complete opposite of them. Lanterns advertising Orion beer and a sanshin (Okinawan three-stringed instrument) were on display. I knew that coming here at night would surely be a fun experience. The lunch menu consisted of 3 options: 1. Classic 3-piece pork soba set: 900 yen 2. Tender cartilage soki soba set: 900 yen 3. Special Gachimai soba set: 1,450 yen I opted for the soki soba set, and it was incredibly delicious. The soki (spare ribs) were truly "tender" and packed with flavor and sweetness. The broth, lightly seasoned with bonito flakes, was delicious, and the noodles were perfectly firm. I couldn't help but slurp it all up. To enhance the experience, I added some koregusu (Okinawan chili pepper) halfway through, which transformed the soup into a spicy delight. The Okinawan seaweed omelette, mixed rice, and side dishes were all top-notch. Although there are several Okinawan restaurants in the area, I believe this one stands out as the best. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I felt like eating Okinawan cuisine, so I went for lunch a few times to Uchinaama and Gusoo for the first time at night. The restaurant is small with 6 counter seats and 1 table. It is run by two young men from Okinawa. They have a limited selection of awamori, but they make up for it with craft beer and original cocktails. The dishes range from traditional to quite unique. The dishes I ordered were Jimami tofu, two-layered with pistachio and peanuts, island carrots and Chura carrot shirishiri mozuku tempura, huchinanchanpuru, pork ribs simmered in soy sauce, hirayachi, Okinawan yakisoba with peperoncino, and as a side dish, peanut-dressed mimigar. Budget is 3,000 to 5,000 yen.

The lunch set of Okinawa soba comes with a choice of either three-layered pork soba or soft bone pork soba. It also includes Okinawan-style mixed rice, jushi, and stir-fried potatoes, kinpira. You can also order them separately for 900 yen. I love soft bone pork, so I was excited to see a large piece of it on top. The Okinawa soba had a gentle flavor with a rich broth. The rice and side dishes were also lightly seasoned, which I really enjoyed. The menu for dinner is also extensive, and the staff are friendly. This is definitely a place I would like to visit again for dinner.

I had Okinawa soba with Okinawan staff at this restaurant, where all the menu items are Okinawan. The atmosphere inside the restaurant also feels like Okinawa. Even though I am in my hometown, I could fully enjoy the Okinawan vibes. This time, I tried the meat soba, but next time I think I will go for the Soki soba. I will definitely visit again.

Wash the dishes. Okinawa soba was soy sauce flavored. Sanpin tea was weak.
