Located about a five-minute walk from Hakata Station Chikushi exit, I finally had the chance to visit this restaurant that I had been curious about. I ordered the "Shoyu Ramen (Regular - 780 yen)" and the "Mixed Rice (150 yen)." The sign says it's a soy sauce ramen with pork bone soup, but it's actually different from the usual creamy tonkotsu ramen or pork bone soy sauce ramen. It's a good old-fashioned soy sauce ramen. The slightly curly thick noodles go well with the soup. Sometimes, soy sauce ramen is a nice change of pace! They only serve ramen for lunch, but they also have a sushi case, and it seems like they operate as an izakaya at night? Actually, the sign says "Tonkotsu Sakaba"!

I went to the new restaurant "Tonkotsu Izakaya Tonkotsu ni Koishite" in Hakata, Fukuoka on July 3, 2023. This place opened in February this year and is still relatively new. It is located on the first floor of Hakata Bebi Building, a 3-4 minute walk from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit. I thought they only served ramen, but they also have tsukemen. I decided to order the regular ramen and mixed rice. The ramen cost 780 yen and the mixed rice cost 150 yen. The ramen came with seaweed, chashu, menma, white and green onions. The soup was soy sauce flavored with floating pork fat, which was delicious and comforting. The noodles were thick and chewy, very tasty. I ended up finishing the soup as it was so satisfying. The address is 2-4-6 Hakata Station Higashi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. They are closed on Sundays, but open for lunch on weekdays.

Overall, this building has had a vacant tenant for a while, but it used to be a tempura restaurant before it became this one. I decided to try their ramen for lunch. It's a pork-focused restaurant, so having soy sauce ramen was a bit surprising. The noodles were good, but I felt they didn't quite match the soup. However, I was happy to see toppings like menma, which are not common in Fukuoka.

I happened to peek into this restaurant and luckily there was a vacant seat available, so I was able to get in without becoming a refugee. The pork belly skewers were incredibly delicious. The menu also offers a variety of other dishes, and I would like to visit again next time. Thank you for the meal.

Newly opened at the Tsukushi exit of Hakata Station♪ It used to be a kushikatsu restaurant, I think? The interior is not very spacious, giving the impression of a shop specializing in pork dishes. They use tea-pork from Kagoshima prefecture as their specialty! Orders are made through mobile ordering, and they serve pork nanban for 300 yen. For drinks, I recommend the Megalemon sour with ice. The simmered pork offal is priced at 480 yen. It uses high-quality offal and has a mild flavor with plenty of broth, similar to miso soup. The charcoal-grilled pork costs 780 yen. It doesn't come on a hot plate as expected, but it is delicious on a regular plate, although a bit pricey. The skewer assortment of 5 pieces is priced at 800 yen, including pork belly, cartilage, guts, liver, and harami, all thick and delicious. In particular, the pork belly is very tasty. The pork-lover ramen costs 780 yen. Despite being a pork-focused restaurant, they use chicken broth for some reason. The curly noodles with rare chashu, white leeks, and menma have a consistently good flavor. The mixed rice ball costs 250 yen, made with regular mixed rice instead of chashu, offering a reliable taste. While the restaurant may seem a bit pricey, it is a casual place suitable for regular visits. It would be nice if they had daily specials or rotating menus as well.
