There was a restaurant called Yoshitsugu near Route 2 in Shinchi, but it has now moved. It is now located on the 4th floor of a building next to Aomei on Takajin Street. The restaurant has a white wooden counter and tables, typical of Shinchi. I arrived at a less crowded time and was greeted by a single waitress. The menu offers a variety of beef tongue dishes such as grilled beef tongue set meal, hamburger, stew, curry, and more. The set meals are a bit pricey, so I decided to ignore them and flipped the menu over. The beef tongue rice bowls seemed like a good option to enjoy the essence of beef tongue. I ordered the "makanaidon" for 1100 yen. They grilled the beef tongue right in front of me on the grill. When it arrived, it came with a salad topped with smoked beef tongue and oxtail soup. Even thinly sliced, the beef tongue stood out against the salad vegetables. The oxtail soup contained plenty of meat, cooked just right to maintain some chewiness. It was lightly seasoned and had a taste that made me want to savor it forever. The grilled beef tongue rice bowl was cut into small pieces, making it easy to eat. Underneath the beef tongue were pickled vegetables and kimchi, adding a nice kick to the dish. The size of the beef tongue made it easy to eat without the need to constantly chew, allowing me to fully enjoy the flavor. It was a delightful meal.

The B set, which comes with 2 beef tongues, 2 beef tongue sausages, barley rice, and oxtail soup, costs 1,800 yen. The portion was surprisingly generous. The restaurant used to be located across from the station building, but has since relocated to the 4th floor of a dining building in Kita-Shinchi. Perhaps because I watched high school baseball yesterday, I suddenly felt like eating beef tongue and decided to visit. The restaurant was packed from early hours, so it's recommended to visit as early as possible.

There are also shops in Minami, but this was my first visit to Gyutan Charcoal Grill Yoshitsugu Kita-Shinchi store since it moved from the entrance of Eiraku to Shintochu Street. The Gyutan set meal for 1.5 people costs 3,700 yen, and the extra-large portion of barley rice is an additional 100 yen. Among the many all-you-can-eat Gyutan restaurants in Sendai style, this one seems to be quite confident. Perhaps it's because of the location.
