I went to the Kadoma restaurant for lunch after a long time. I ordered just the Karaage with extra Gokudare sauce. I topped the generous serving of salted fish roe on rice, and dipped the crispy Karaage in plenty of Gokudare sauce. The Karaage was crunchy and delicious, making me crave a highball drink in the afternoon. The price of Karaage varies depending on the quantity. I hadn't had it in a while and went specifically for it, so I ended up getting 4 pieces, but for someone like me in middle age, 3 pieces would have been enough. I feel like I want to go to Karayama for lunch regularly now!

I arrived at the restaurant for an early lunch as it was raining and they had a parking lot. This was my second visit. The turnover of customers seemed fast, so it never seemed to be full. I ordered the Karayama set meal with 6 pieces (979 yen including tax). The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Although it wasn't my preference, I was satisfied with the portion size. The salted squid served as a side dish was surprisingly good.

I went to Kadoma for license renewal. I drove there that day, so I looked for a place with parking where I could have lunch and stopped by here! From the exterior, I could tell it was a chain restaurant, but the quality has been getting better lately, so I had high expectations. The parking space was quite spacious. The interior was also spacious with a good balance of counter seats and table seats. As the name suggests, their specialty is karaage (Japanese fried chicken), but they also have many other chicken-related menu items. They offer rice bowl dishes, karaage, oyako don (chicken and egg rice bowl), oyako don with sweet and sour sauce, chicken nanban, and yakitori set meals. I ordered the "Goku Oyako Don Set" for 825 yen including tax. It came with oyako don, two pieces of karaage, and miso soup with grated yam. In conclusion, it was delicious. The chicken in the oyako don was large, and the half-cooked egg was good. The broth in the rice bowl was a bit sweet for my taste, but it was still good. The karaage was also tasty. The miso soup with grated yam was especially good. I'm satisfied, thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant just before the last order. The atmosphere of the restaurant was decent. The tea was self-service, but the kettle did not come. To make matters worse, I accidentally spilled the miso soup bowl. The staff kindly removed the tray, but did not even ask, "Are you okay?" It was disappointing.

Visited a specialty chain for fried chicken. It was empty as it was before 2 pm. Ordered 6 pieces of thigh meat fried chicken (979 yen tax included) and 2 pieces of pork fried chicken (396 yen tax included). The thigh meat fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It would have been better if it was more juicy. The pork fried chicken was a big disappointment, it was tough and not tasty at all.

I didn't have high expectations since it was a chain restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised during my lunch break. The surface was crispy and the chicken was juicy with well-balanced spices. The staff was attentive and provided good service by refilling water regularly.

I was working near here and got hungry on my way home, so I decided to stop by my usual place, Karayama. I ordered the Akakari, which is spicy fried chicken, as part of a combo. When the dish arrived, the fried chicken was as big and hot as always, and I was very satisfied! The crispy coating and juicy chicken were incredibly delicious when I took a bite. The Akakari was not too spicy, just the right amount of heat. Even though it seemed like a lot of fried chicken, it disappeared in no time with the rice (laughs). The fried chicken here is not greasy, but crispy and light, making it one of my favorite places for fried chicken.

It was raining during the Bon festival and I had to work for lunch before 12 o'clock. About 80% of the customers were ordering the "Yamadon Set Meal" which had a discount of 150 yen for the Thanksgiving festival. The meal also came with free extra rice and a complimentary serving of pickles on the table. The "Yamadon Set Meal" (Bamboo) was priced at 704 yen and came with 5 pieces of crispy and delicious fried chicken, with two types of dipping sauces. Although I opted for the (Bamboo) set with 5 pieces of chicken, the (Plum) set with 4 pieces would have been sufficient. The restaurant seemed to have more customers ordering takeout rather than dining in. They also have a variety of side dishes available, so it would be nice to have a beer with your meal. It seems like a good place for a casual lunchtime drink.

On this day, after finding out that many of the restaurants I wanted to go to were closed, I ended up visiting this chain restaurant called "Karayama". It may seem a bit excessive to eat at multiple places in a row, but maybe it's just my nature (^^;;). This restaurant is operated by "Arcland Service Holdings", which also runs the "Tonkatsu Katsuya" chain. I decided to try their ginger fried chicken set meal this time. Despite the ongoing pandemic, they offer a good selection of takeout options. Many customers were also getting takeout orders. They provide complimentary pickled radish and squid salted guts. I ordered the ginger fried chicken set meal for 690 yen (excluding tax), which came with 4 pieces of ginger fried chicken, rice, and miso soup. Each piece of fried chicken was quite large, and I opted for the extra large rice portion. The miso soup contained grated yam instead of seaweed. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with ginger flavor. I also enjoyed the squid salted guts. This complimentary service was much appreciated. Thank you for the meal.

※Mask-wearing store. For 3 days only on December 11th, 12th, and 13th, the Karayama Teishoku Ume is 690 yen excluding tax, with a discount of 190 yen, making it 500 yen excluding tax. This shop is a part of the Katsuya group and specializes in fried chicken. This was my first visit to this shop. The fried chicken was good, with two types of sauce available: one with a garlic flavor and the other slightly sweet and spicy. The meal also included cabbage with dressing and a standard miso soup with grated yam. At the time of payment, they gave me a coupon for 100 yen off on my next visit. The daikon radish and salted squid were also good, with the squid having a slightly stronger flavor than usual.

I have eaten many fried chickens before, but this was the least enjoyable one. I ordered the "assorted" set, but the plain fried chicken had no flavor at all. The two sauces provided (sweet soy sauce and garlic) were both too strong. It was extreme. Another option was fried chicken with a mild tartar-like egg topping, but it had no distinct taste either. Both options were served in twos, but I couldn't bring myself to finish them. This was a first for me. Additionally, the miso soup had grated yam in it, which may be a matter of personal preference, but it definitely didn't complement the fried chicken. And to top it off, the complimentary "salted squid guts" was a strange choice at first, but it ended up being the saving grace. Despite my efforts, I couldn't finish one piece of fried chicken. Pouring the rice into the salted squid guts didn't make me feel like I had eaten a "fried chicken set meal." Many people opted for takeout, so I believe it all comes down to personal taste. Thank you for the meal.

Recently, there has been an increase in specialty fried chicken shops in the Kansai region. I love fried chicken, so I'm interested in checking them out. I visited on a Saturday evening and there were about 40% of seats taken by other customers. By the time I left, the town was bustling, so it seems like a good timing. Since it was my first time, I couldn't miss out on the basic fried chicken. I ordered a set with two pieces and a large piece of fried chicken topped with tartar sauce. The food was served about 3 minutes after ordering. It was so fast! I wondered if they just plated the fried chicken that was already cooked. But when I tried it, it was incredibly delicious. The surface was crispy and the meat was tender, ensuring the freshness of the fried chicken. The large piece of fried chicken, however, had the coating separated from the meat, which was a bit disappointing. The tartar sauce had a nice tangy flavor, making it perfect for adding some variety to the taste.

I can't resist the fried chicken at Kawauchiya~. I've been curious about this restaurant every time I pass by on R163. But I didn't really come this way until Kawauchiya became the representative director of the Asahi Ward Nakamiya office. It was around GW when I started to get interested. Lately, there are a lot of specialty fried chicken shops, right? When I went in, I was warmly welcomed. I ordered the Karage (fried chicken) set with 5 pieces and went for the large rice. A plate with three types of sauces was served, but one was empty. I wonder if you choose salt or something. Maybe soy sauce or garlic miso sauce. The fried chicken was big, hot, and juicy. I was supposed to have a meal with the lawyer I signed a consulting contract with when I returned to Kagoshima, but the meal got canceled, so I came here alone. I wonder which sauce is better, the garlic miso or the sweet soy sauce. But I was surprised by the large rice. It seemed like it never decreased no matter how much I ate. This is the right amount for 5 pieces of fried chicken. The restaurant is very clean and quite popular. I will definitely go back again.

Karayama Kadoma Yanagicho store for the first time. This store seems to have opened just last October. Karayama is a specialty store for fried chicken, and it's nice to see them expanding their stores like this. The staff is energetic, and there are many female employees. I went to try the "Shrimp Chili Fried Chicken" campaign that started on April 17th. Since I had just eaten the Shrimp Mayo version at a different store recently, I chose the Shrimp Chili Fried Chicken this time. Personally, I prefer this one over the Shrimp Mayo. It doesn't feel as sweet or heavy, so you can eat it heartily. The most popular crispy chicken thigh with sauce is also satisfying. You can choose between regular and large rice portions, and I chose regular to avoid overeating. However, one thing that bothers me, not just at this store but in general, is the lack of wet towels for hand cleaning, especially during this time of heightened hygiene awareness due to the coronavirus. It may be a cost-cutting measure, but even if they increase the price a bit, I wish they would provide wet towels.

Due to the impact of the corona, everyone is refraining from going out, but I am still moving forward today. Because it's work! So, despite the long weekend, I went to have a snack time between lunch and dinner with a young colleague after work. The young colleague ordered a large portion of fried chicken set meal, while I ordered the Karayama set meal with plum. Both of us opted for the large portion. The fried chicken set meal was impressive with 20 pieces, clearly a hearty meal. My Karayama set meal comes with 4 pieces of chicken thigh and sides like mashed potatoes and shredded cabbage. The set meal has different ranks based on the number of fried chicken pieces, ranging from plum to bamboo to pine. The taste was standard, with the chicken being juicy and crispy. The miso soup served was clear with shredded kelp and bonito flakes, bringing back nostalgic memories. After about 40 minutes, the young colleague struggled to finish and left around 8 pieces. However, it was not a problem as the restaurant allows sharing meals. Overall, it was an enjoyable time, and we left with some leftovers. The fried chicken set meal costs 1990 yen, while the Karayama set meal (plum) costs 690 yen.

Located mainly in the Kanto region, Karayama is a chain of over 60 stores in Japan (with a few overseas). It is a specialty fried chicken shop affiliated with Katsuya. The newest branch, the Kadoma Yanagimachi store, opened on October 25, 2019. After finishing some business at the Kadoma Driving Test Center on a weekday afternoon, I parked my car in the dedicated parking lot in front of the store (had to wait about 5 minutes for a spot) and visited for a solo lunch. I had to wait another 10 minutes before being seated at the counter (it's a popular spot). I ordered the Special Karaage Don with Negi Gokudare Don: 590 yen (excluding tax) + miso soup: 50 yen (excluding tax). The dish arrived in about 5 minutes. During lunchtime, they offer free extra rice, so I requested it. The dish was topped with plenty of crispy white leeks and drizzled with a special soy sauce dressing. It was delicious! The generous portion and reasonable pricing are probably why this place is so popular. I enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I came here. I arrived before 12 o'clock at a fried chicken chain restaurant that opened last year along Katamachi 163. The clean and neat interior has a kitchen space on the left, counter seats surrounding it, and many table seats on the right. It is run by several people of all ages and genders. The menu mainly consists of fried chicken using various parts of the chicken, and there is also a takeout corner for selling by weight and bento boxes near the entrance. I ordered the popular "Karayama Teishoku (Ume)" set meal. The difference between the three sizes (Matsu, Take, Ume) seems to be the number of pieces of fried chicken. "You can have extra rice for free♪" was the bonus. As lunchtime approached, more and more customers came in, and it was almost full, but I quickly placed my order without even having time to take photos of the menu. The tray included the main dish, rice, miso soup, and original sauce. The fried chicken was nicely fried and crispy on the outside, juicy inside. There were two types of sauce - garlic soy sauce and sweet teriyaki-style sauce. The piping hot miso soup had shredded kombu in it, and it was also quite delicious. Noteworthy was the salted squid on the table - it had a deep flavor with not just saltiness but also a variety of textures, making it a perfect match with rice. I finished by munching on shredded cabbage with mayonnaise. Even with just 4 pieces of fried chicken, the portion was satisfying! When I searched, I realized that this place is also in the local area under the name "Karayoshi," which can be confusing. The service was good. Thank you for the meal. From a unique perspective, wheelchair accessibility is available, with separate restrooms for men and women near the entrance, and ample parking space on the premises.

I went to Kadoma to renew my driver's license. I found this place when looking for somewhere nearby to have lunch. I ordered the special set meal with limited-time release of shichimi (seven spice) fried chicken. The shichimi is quite spicy, but when dipped in the mayonnaise on the table, it becomes mild and just right.

The other day, MyRebi-san wrote a review about a restaurant in Hyogo Prefecture that caught my attention. It's a chain restaurant known for its fried chicken, and apparently they offer all-you-can-eat delicious salted squid as well (゚ω゚) To be honest, I had heard about a restaurant in Kayashima that offers CKD, so I excitedly made my way there, only to find a sign saying, "Closed for a while due to the owner's poor health" ( ゚д゚) Oh no! I was so close to having a delicious Chinese-style pork cutlet bowl, but I ended up one step away from being a lunch refugee (*_*) At that moment, I remembered this restaurant... "Come to think of it, Karama is under construction and it said it will be opening soon..." Despite being a chain restaurant, it's a new store that I've never been to. It's not a familiar place in Kansai, and it's a restaurant I've been wanting to visit (located in Himeji City), so I decided to head there. Upon entering the restaurant and looking at the menu, it seems they have a limited-time seven-spice fried chicken... I ordered the mixed set meal because I also wanted to try the regular fried chicken. The seven-spice fried chicken is made with chicken tenderloin and is covered in an excessive amount of seven-spice seasoning... Actually, it's too much seven-spice seasoning (laughs) Even the salad is covered in seven-spice seasoning (゚ω゚) I like seven-spice seasoning, so it's not a problem for me, but if someone who doesn't like spicy food orders it lightly, they might be in for a surprise (^◇^;) The regular fried chicken, which MyRebi-san had been jokingly criticizing as being too crispy, was indeed crispy, but not difficult to eat. It had a nice level of crispiness and was delicious to eat (laughs) While the fried chicken itself didn't have any particular features besides being crispy, when dipped in garlic sauce, it transformed into a dangerously delicious dish that steals your rice. As for the salted squid that I had heard about, it was truly delicious. And most importantly, the miso soup with grated yam was also very tasty (´ー`)

Today's lunch was at Yamano Kado Minami store, which apparently opened last week and was already bustling with customers before noon. I had the Karayama set meal with umeboshi for 649 yen. It came with two types of sauce, garlic soy sauce and spicy sauce, as well as pickled jar and squid shiokara for unlimited refills. You can also get a free extra-large portion of rice. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, delicious! I would love to challenge the Dekamori set meal someday. Yamano Kado Minami store 06-6916-4710 Osaka, Kadoma City, Yanagimachi 20-3.
