Rokkatei Tokyo Event Information! March 28th to April 10th. The products available at Seibu Ikebukuro Main Store may vary at each event venue. Please note that there is a limited quantity, so please understand if items are sold out. The event period may change. For more information, please contact each event venue. The Rokkatei website has event information for various regions. Please take a look. Today's spotlight is on Rokkatei Otaru Canal Store. Located an 8-minute walk from Minami-Otaru Station, this store in Otaru's shopping district opened in 2002. It is known for the "Marusei Butter Sand," one of Hokkaido's representative confectioneries, available only in Hokkaido and at major airports in the region. The name "Rokka" (snowflake) symbolizes Hokkaido's wish to become a leading confectionery shop. The reviewer visited on a weekend afternoon during a Hokkaido sweets tour. The Otaru Sakaimachi Street shopping district was bustling with tourists. The reviewer warns about the crows in the area, known to be thieves. The street is lined with various shops, with music boxes and glassware stores offering great souvenirs. The reviewer was particularly impressed by the beauty of this store, housed in a stone building that used to be a warehouse for Nissho Otaru. Adjacent to it is the "Hokkaro" store. The reviewer was excited to visit this store, having enjoyed Rokkatei's sweets as souvenirs or at events. The store also offers limited edition items not available elsewhere. The reviewer purchased various Hokkaido-exclusive sweets and expressed a desire for Rokkatei to open a store in Tokyo. The review ends with a description of the delicious Marusei Butter Sand and the joy it brings.

I purchased a large amount of sweets at Rokkatei right next to the LeTAO main store. I bought Marusei butter sandwich, Marusei butter cake (with walnuts), potato pie, Yukiyanconko, Frosting, and cream puffs. I had to give up on the chocolate and caramel flavors, but I bought too much! Now I will enjoy eating them slowly. (^o^)

New Chitose Airport sometimes has quiet times, like during the summer of 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking back, it was nice that it wasn't crowded, but at that time, COVID was unknown and scary, so I tried to avoid contact with people. However, having a certain amount of people around can spark a shopping desire and excitement. There are things you can't buy at the airport, so I end up buying stuff at the Sapporo main store. One of my favorites is the Butter Cake with Walnuts, a version with a caramel filling with plenty of walnuts. It's bittersweet and delicious, the walnuts go well with the fluffy cake. Everything from Rokkatei is delicious, so I love it. I gave it as a souvenir to my colleagues, and they all loved it, which made me happy. Thank you for the meal.

The second stop on our Otaru walk was the eat-in section of Rokkatei. Unfortunately, all the cream puffs at Hokkairo were sold out, so we came here instead. The eat-in area is on the second floor, where we enjoyed a Snow Kon Cheesecake for 250 yen and a cream puff for 110 yen with hot coffee. They only sell hot coffee here. Since the seating in the back was full, we stood at the front. The Snow Kon Cheesecake is made with the same cocoa cookie dough as the "yukiyakonko," sandwiching a baked cheesecake. The cocoa dough is not too sweet and pairs well with the cheesecake. The small cream puff is filled with a rich custard cream and is delicious. It was a nice little break. It would be great if they also sold raisin ice cream sandwiches here. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

While walking in Otaru, I came across the retro building of Rokkatei and decided to go inside. I always associated Rokkatei with butter sand, but they were selling blueberry pie, so I bought one and enjoyed it outside. The crust was crispy and the filling had a rich blueberry jam that was very delicious.

I bought some souvenirs at Rokkatei and ended up getting something for myself too. I love their strawberry chocolate, so I bought that along with their Rokka no Tsuyu. I always find these kinds of items expensive at local food fairs, but here they were quite affordable. I didn't know what Rokka no Tsuyu was when I bought it, but it turned out to have a variety of delicious flavors. I wish I had bought more of it. If I have the chance to buy it again, Rokka no Tsuyu is a must-have!笑

On Monday around 4 pm, three of us visited. The first-floor retail space was crowded with tourists, but the second-floor café space was relatively quiet. Surprisingly, you can get unlimited refills of hot coffee for only 150 yen. Plus, they offer delicious liquid cream from Rokkatei for free. However, I only had one cup of black coffee. We also enjoyed the Snow Concheese, which is only available in the café and has a 2-hour expiration date.

A good place to take a break. On the first floor, you can buy products from Rokkatei. On the second floor, there is a simple resting area where you can enjoy the Rokkatei products you purchased. Previously, when you bought products, you would get a complimentary cup of coffee, but now it is charged at 120 yen per cup. However, getting a delicious cup of coffee for 120 yen is a good deal! This time, I had the "Yukon Cheese" with a 2-hour expiration date and coffee. The price of the Yukon Cheese has increased to 250 yen, but it is delicious, so it's worth it!

The first floor is a souvenir shop and the second floor is a cafe. I enjoyed coffee and snow corn cheese while looking down from the open ceiling. The butter sand here is also delicious, just like Rokkatei's. It would make a great souvenir from Hokkaido, don't you think? You can relax and eat inside the shop, making it a great place to take a break when you're tired from walking around Otaru!

In Otaru, known for its many sweet shops, I discovered a small cafe on the second floor of the Rokkatei shop and decided to give it a try. I enjoyed a cream puff and a Snow Kon Cheesecake, along with a cup of coffee for only 120 yen. The cheesecake had a refreshing lemon flavor and a buttery texture, sandwiched between crispy bitter chocolate sablé cookies. It wasn't too sweet, so it was a light and enjoyable treat.

Rokkatei "Marusei Butter Sand, Marusei Butter Cake, Yukiya Konko, Mocha White Chocolate" - A famous Japanese and Western confectionery shop in Hokkaido known for their butter sand! The butter sand has a strong buttery flavor that stands out among other sandwich desserts. The butter cake is fluffy and the sponge is delicious! Personally, it's my favorite! If you want to try the famous butter sand in its hometown of Hokkaido, be sure to visit! #HokkaidoGourmet #HokkaidoRestaurant #OtaruRestaurant #OtaruGourmet #Rokkatei #WesternConfectioneryRestaurant #RecommendedRestaurant #April25th

Hokkaido Trip Day 3: [Rokkatei Otaru Canal Store] Right next to Hokkaido's famous sweet shop, Hokkairo, there are various shops lined up. This time, we visited Rokkatei for the limited edition "Yukon Cheese" available on the 2nd floor. It's a lemon-flavored rare cheesecake with cocoa cookies sandwiched in between. It was delicious! ★★★★ 3.6. The Yukon Cheese cost 250 yen, and the cream puff cost 112 yen, totaling 362 yen. Next, the cream puff had a soft outer layer and was smaller than expected. The cream wasn't to my liking, so I rated it ★★★ 3.1. For an additional 120 yen, you can enjoy all-you-can-drink coffee on the 2nd floor, which is a nice relaxing space. On the 1st floor, the souvenir corner had my favorite Marseille butter sandwich cookies, which I stocked up on. ★★★★ 4.2. I still think these are the best. Otaru is full of historic buildings, making it enjoyable just to walk around and explore. There are plenty of food shops to try out too!

[Taste] Excellent [Appearance] Good [Atmosphere] Takeout [Cost performance] Excellent. It's just very cheap. The Snow Kon Cheese is so delicious. You can't go wrong with getting hooked on the sweet and rich cheese sandwiched between cookies, which is easy to eat. I vowed to buy it every time I visit Otaru. The cream puffs also have a rich custard filling and are very affordable at 100 yen, making them worth lining up for.

It is recommended to eat within 2 hours, so it's difficult to take home as a souvenir, and travelers have no choice but to eat while walking. The sweets shop does not display items, you need to order from the staff and they will bring it from the back. A baked cheesecake sandwiched between cocoa biscuits. It's impossible for it not to be delicious. The rich and creamy baked cheesecake goes really well with the slightly bitter cocoa biscuits. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Rokkatei in Otaru to try their Snow Kon Cheese, which is advertised to have a consumption deadline of 2 hours. The first floor is a souvenir shop, and there is a simple cafe space on the second floor with a view of the lower floor through a void. It might be more appropriate to call it a takeout eat-in. The Snow Kon Cheese (250 yen) is definitely a great choice as it is a Rokkatei sweet. It is incredibly delicious. I heard that they make it in the kitchen after you order. Inside the not-too-sweet chocolate biscuit, there is a rich cheese cream with a salty taste. Rokkatei sweets can be bought in Tokyo as well, but sweets like this that can only be eaten in Hokkaido make for great memories of a trip.

Gourmet Trip Part 10 - Hokkaido Trip 2022 Snack Visit: Located along Sakaimachi Dori, which connects Otaru Canal and Minami-Otaru Station, there are many souvenir shops lined up. This particular shop is a branch of Rokkatei, with a second floor serving as an eat-in space. I didn't originally intend to buy anything, but the mention of a 2-hour limited expiration date caught my attention, leading me to visit the shop. I tried the Yuki-kon Cheese for 250 yen, which is a rich cheesecake-like treat with cocoa-flavored biscuits sandwiched in between. It was indeed delicious, but nothing too extraordinary. It's the typical limited edition item that you can't miss when traveling. Overall, it was a sweet treat that made me feel like a tourist, attracting travelers like me.

After having lunch at "Otaru Masazushi," I took a leisurely stroll along Sakaimachi Street in Otaru. I visited "Rokkatei" located next to Kitakaro, where I found various products besides the famous Marseille Butter Sand. This time, I purchased a baked confectionery called "Danshaku," which is not sold at the airport. The confectionery, shaped like a Danshaku potato, was cute and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

At Rokkatei Otaru Canal Store, you can buy various sweets from classic butter sandwiches to unique ones. Many products have labels saying "Not available at the airport," so I ended up buying a lot. It's great that you can buy items individually. There were many girls buying a lot. It was a bit awkward for men.

I visited around 2 o'clock and decided to stop by for a light snack. I was drawn to a sweet called Snow Cheese for 230 yen, so I bought it on the second floor. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could enjoy a complimentary coffee as a service drink and also use the eat-in seating. It was a nice break for 230 yen and left a good impression. The taste was rich in cheese flavor, and I definitely wanted the coffee. It was a shop that left a memorable impression with great services for tourists.

At New Chitose Airport, we enjoyed the Snow Kon Cheese for 230 yen at the cafe space on the second floor. The Snow Kon Cheese, a cookie with cheese cream in between, had an elegant taste. The cafe space had a calm atmosphere overlooking the souvenir corner on the first floor! Coffee was complimentary, making it a cost-effective space. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
