A unique new restaurant has opened on the south side of lively Osaka Tenmangu Shrine! I made a reservation and visited the TOMIDORI36 dining room, which I had been curious about on Instagram. The address of TOMIDORI36 dining room is 4-12-19 Tenma, Kita-ku, Osaka, a 4-minute walk from Minamimorimachi Station on the Osaka Metro. The owner, who trained in Japanese cuisine for 10 years and Italian cuisine for 16 years, opened the restaurant on 4/6! It is already a popular spot and bustling with customers. *Reservations are recommended. I arrived at the restaurant before 8:00 PM. Closed on irregular days *Shop information is available on Instagram Business hours: 17:00-24:00 (Last order 23:00) I thoroughly disinfected both hands with the alcohol at the entrance and confirmed with the staff about my reservation and permission for taking photos before being seated at the counter. They have a wide range of alcohol options including beer, sake, shochu, and wine. I ordered two draft beers and toasted to my wife for her hard work during Golden Week! The cold beer went down smoothly! The menu offers a variety of Japanese and Italian dishes, which is very enjoyable. After discussing with my wife, we ordered the following dishes: Hors d'oeuvres assortment, sashimi platter, uramaki sushi, and Roman-style tripe stew. After a short wait, the dishes arrived one by one. The sashimi platter came in a wooden box, beautifully decorated with edible flowers. This day's sashimi platter included botan shrimp, bluefin tuna belly, grilled nodoguro with frost, and nori with ponzu sauce! The cuts were beautiful and delicious. The recommended hors d'oeuvres assortment was served in small dishes, perfect for enjoying with beer. My wife chose a draft beer and a sparkling wine. They have a variety of sake served in masu cups, but it was the first time I saw wine served in a masu cup. The Roman-style tripe stew was made with carefully prepared honeycomb tripe, cooked to perfection with great texture and flavor. The uramaki sushi had egg roll, eel, wasabi, and sansho pepper on top of seaweed. It was a delicious combination with a twist. The quality of the dishes was high, and the place was bustling with customers, proving its popularity. It was a delightful meal!
