JR Temma Station, Izakaya "Isomaru Suisan". I wanted to eat eel for lunch, but unfortunately it was sold out. Instead, I had the grilled mackerel set meal for 1,055 yen. The skin was crispy, the meat was juicy and delicious. The large half mackerel provided a satisfying meal. It was crowded with daytime drinkers on Sunday, showing that the Japanese drinking culture is still going strong.

On a holiday on July 28, 2023, my wife and I went on a day drinking tour in Temma. This place was our last stop, even though we didn't plan on going there originally. A friend who lives nearby contacted us saying they were in Temma to pick up their child, so we decided to meet up there. We didn't want a café, we wanted a bar, which suits us better. By the time we arrived, we were already full and had enough to drink, so I only had one highball here. I can't remember the food we ordered, maybe just one dish? This seafood izakaya chain is open for lunch. It was our first time sitting and drinking here. We had a leisurely time and were able to talk a lot. We couldn't eat and drink much, sorry to the restaurant, but the place was spacious and quiet with only about 20% of the usual customers, probably because it was past 3 pm. Thank you for the meal.

At Tenma, I felt like eating tuna for lunch, so I went to Isomaru Suisan. I had the Tuna 2-color bowl (special) for 1099 yen, with double the amount of fish and 350g, but with less rice. It was topped with both Mebachi and Binchou maguro, and it was delicious! Before noon, a group of about 30 people of continental descent arrived. There were also foreign customers from various countries, perhaps they came here for the same reason. With the impact of the pandemic causing closures and reduced sales, I hope they can cover their losses.

After a long time, I happened to stroll around an old house on a weekday and found an izakaya where you can drink Hoppy from noon. I decided to have sashimi and grilled dishes as well. I thought the options might be limited, but to my surprise, there were inbound tourists having a lunch party in the back tatami room. I didn't mind and enjoyed my meal leisurely.

Last week, I had a rare opportunity to have a drink with my colleagues at work. We went to "Isomaru Suisan." I had been visiting during the day since the outbreak of Corona, but this was the first time in two years that I visited at night. We arrived a little after 7 pm. I thought it would be crowded because it was the weekend, but it was only about half full. We started with a toast with "Chuhai." We ordered the "Tuna with Green Onions" for our first dish. Since it takes time to cook, we also ordered a dish that could be served immediately. The "Tuna with Green Onions" arrived quickly. At the same time, the tuna with green onions to be placed on the table grill also arrived. The tuna with green onions had a nice flavor with the smell of the green onions removing the unique smell of the tuna. It went well with the alcohol, and it was so delicious that I could eat as many bowls as I wanted if there was rice. As we ate and drank, the food on the grill started to cook. The smell of the cooked food stimulated our appetite. Next, we ordered "Shirasu Ajillo" and "Salmon Belly Skin Crackers." Since the grill was now available, we also ordered some shellfish. We ate and drank a lot of different dishes and were satisfied. I thought the Corona situation was getting better, but it seems to be increasing again. I would like to come back for drinks again, but it depends on the situation.

I happened to have work in Osaka, so I stopped by for lunch. It seems like they also operate as an izakaya where you can drink from lunchtime. I ordered the bara chirashi don, which was topped with plenty of seafood and was very filling. It's perfect for when you want to quickly grab lunch.

Returning from a business trip, slightly far from the station but close to Metro Ogimachi Station, "Isomaru Suisan Temma Store." The lunch set with soba and bara chirashi bowl costs 1088 yen. The bara chirashi bowl had a generous amount of ingredients and was very filling and delicious. The atmosphere was lively with people of all ages enjoying lunchtime drinks. Prices may have gone up due to high ingredient costs, but it is still reasonably priced.

In front of Temma Station, "Isomaru Suisan Temma Store" offers a lunch of eel bowl for 1,087 yen. Lately, whenever I come here, I always feel like having an eel bowl, which I don't usually eat. When I come nearby, I always end up ordering it. Recently, they also offer tuna bowls with 1.5 to 2 times more toppings. If you prefer less rice and more sashimi, this could be a good choice for you.

There is a restaurant called Isomaru Suisan located on the west side under the elevated tracks of the JR Loop Line, just a short walk from Temma Station towards Osaka Station. Outside the entrance, there is a tank with fresh shellfish and fish swimming around, creating a lively atmosphere. Inside the restaurant, you can smell the delicious aroma of grilled seafood. They offer a variety of dishes such as grilled shellfish, assorted sashimi, and seafood bowls. The seafood bowl is beautifully presented with colorful ingredients. Although bowl dishes like seafood bowls are a popular Japanese cuisine format, they do not have a long history in Japanese cuisine. The concept of bowl dishes like eel rice (unadon) originated in the Edo period in the early 19th century. I occasionally use it during lunchtime. The photo is a tuna two-piece set meal. It's a volume that can drink two glasses of draft beer just with this. The tuna is fresh, and the croquette is crispy and very delicious.

I visited Tenma, attracted by its store front and potential good value. I was surprised by the prices when I placed my order on the touch screen. I realized I didn't do enough research. Oh well, since I was already there, I decided to order some sashimi. It was beautifully presented and there weren't many people there, probably due to the timing. But the aroma of grilled seafood filled the air. I couldn't resist and ended up ordering some grilled shrimp and scallops too. They were delicious! I wish the prices were a bit lower though. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

On September 28th, the usual Saturday! With nothing to do at home, I reluctantly left early in the morning! I ended up heading to Tenjinbashi for some reason! However, even in the bustling Tenjinbashi shopping street, most shops were closed before 9 am. I decided to search for a shop and headed south! I noticed a shop with neon lights standing out right in front of JR Temma Station. Most of the places I checked were opening at 11 am, but there was a shop open after 9 am? It was the 24-hour open Izumaru Suisan. We entered without any particular reason! Even at this time, young women were enjoying drinks alone, maybe as breakfast? Truly amazing atmosphere on Tenjinbashi shopping street. Our order was: - Appetizer Assortment 299 yen x 2 (excluding tax) - Edamame 323 yen - Pickled Chinese cabbage 323 yen - Grilled squid 539 yen - Sea grapes 647 yen - Steamed white clams in sake 971 yen - Draft beer 539 yen - Highball 431 yen - Red Highball 431 yen - Glass of wine (white/red) 431 yen each Even though the place wasn't crowded early in the morning, we were grateful that they were open. The dishes and drinks were reasonably priced, and the seafood was fresh and delicious. It was a slight upgrade from my usual favorites, but the satisfaction level was worth it, even though the total cost was about double. I might get hooked on this place in the future! They also have a branch in Juso, so I would like to visit there next time. Thank you for the feast from early in the morning.

*Izumaru Suisan Temma Station Front Store* I left home early in the morning to avoid the heat and wandered around, this time not in the underground shopping area but in the Tenjinbashi-Suji Arcade looking for a place for morning and daytime drinking (*'▽') There seemed to be some places open in the back alleys from early in the morning, but it was an unknown area for us. As we walked straight down the street, we saw a neon light shining *blink* and it was Izumaru Suisan, open 24 hours a day (*'▽') It was around 9 am, and there were 2-3 customers inside. The staff consisted of one person in the hall and one person at the cutting board. We immediately ordered drinks and seafood dishes to soak up the atmosphere that must have been bustling a few hours earlier. - Appetizer @299 - Grilled squid @539 Normally you grill it yourself on the table, but since we weren't used to handling it, the staff kindly grilled it for us in a separate location. We were amazed by the artistic way they grilled it, which we could never do ourselves, and our excitement levels rose (*'▽') Other dishes included: - Sea grapes @647 - Steamed white clams in sake @971 - Edamame @323 - Pickled Chinese cabbage @323 Drinks: - Draft beer @539 - Highball @431 - Glass of wine (white/red) @431 each Fresh seafood at affordable prices from early in the morning! Osaka Day 2! (^-^) I've visited before! This time, my partner and I came together! (^-^) Being able to drink during the day is great! Cheers! (^-^) It's delicious! We had scallops and honbinosu clams that we tried during our first visit! My partner had a two-color rice bowl! (^-^) We also ordered horse mackerel sashimi and celery pickles... and waited for the dishes while sipping on the mozuku vinegar served as an appetizer! (^-^) The clams arrived quickly, and the waitress cooked them at our table! (^-^) She came over a few times, carefully preparing them each time! (^-^) When they were ready to eat, she cut them with scissors for easy eating, topped them with butter, and poured a special dipping sauce on the table! (^-^) The meat was firm and had a good texture, very tasty! (^-^) The horse mackerel sashimi was prepared right in front of us, taken out of the tank! You could see the tail still moving! (^_^;) It really showed how fresh it was! (^-^) The celery pickles were a great palate cleanser! My partner finished the two-color rice bowl and looked full, but still wanted to enjoy more delicious grilled clams today... and more! Thank you for the meal! (^-^) I still want to go somewhere else! Today, I had a little luxury lunch on my day off. I happened to be in Osaka, so I decided to go to "Isomaru Suisan" for lunch. It was my first time having lunch at Isomaru Suisan. I ordered a draft beer and a seafood bara-chirashi with extra wasabi. I sprinkled soy sauce and wasabi on top and enjoyed the bowl. It's definitely delicious! It may not be exceptionally delicious for the price, but like the seafood bowls served during lunchtime, it was just really good! I enjoyed the sense of luxury while having a beer. Lunch is best enjoyed on a day off, right? (laughs) Thank you for the meal! I definitely want to come back again! *\(^o^)/*

On the second morning in Osaka, I visited this place near my daughter's apartment! I felt a bit guilty as I was asked to do some shopping in the shopping street, but my junior and I had a toast with beer! The morning beer tasted great! There were a few other customers in the store besides us. I originally planned to have a simple meal like rice, miso soup, and grilled fish because I drank too much the day before, but I couldn't resist the scallops being grilled right in front of me. My junior had a seafood bowl, while I had rice and miso soup with scallops as a luxurious side dish. In the end, after drinking 2-3 glasses, we enjoyed delicious grilled dishes in the morning once again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
