I wanted to finish the night in a quiet and calm place after drinking at a noisy bar nearby. The East Street in Umeda is crowded and chaotic, but surprisingly, there are some cool bars in the side streets. I came to one of those bars. I ordered a lemon sour at the counter, some light snacks, and then more drinks. I'm starting to understand how people drink in Umeda little by little.

This is the restaurant "Seasonal Cuisine Kayo" located a short walk from Tenjinbashi Rokucho-me Station. It is a Japanese-style izakaya with a refined atmosphere both outside and inside, but not stuffy at all. The capacity is small with 8 seats at the counter and 8 table seats. It may be a good idea to make a reservation before visiting. I sat at the counter and ordered a beer. First, I received an appetizer. The appetizer consisted of fuki (butterbur) and okara (soy pulp), both with a very gentle seasoning. They were comforting and homey. Feeling reassured by the delicious appetizer, I began ordering. The sashimi platter included sea bream, medium fatty tuna, kizushi (pickled fish), and striped jack. The quality of the sashimi was high and delicious. The sea bream was incredibly fresh with excellent firmness. The medium fatty tuna melted in the mouth with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The kizushi was outstanding with its perfectly balanced vinegar seasoning. The next dish was potato salad, which had a strong mayonnaise flavor, a nice change from the previous subtle flavors. It was a delicious potato salad. I couldn't resist ordering the beef tendon and konjac. The beef tendon was tender and well-seasoned, a textbook example of deliciousness. The octopus simmered until tender was incredibly soft and tasty. It was clear that the octopus had been carefully cooked. The manager's skill was evident in the seasoning. Lastly, the grilled eel was a must-try dish, showcasing the deliciousness of eel. The tender, fatty meat and crispy skin were irresistible. Eel is just so delicious. This restaurant truly offers a consistently high-quality dining experience. Thank you for the feast.

Today is a drinking night with friends in Temma. We were looking for a place to go and came across this restaurant. It seems that they used to be located around Doyama and then moved to Temma. I had visited before when they were in their previous location and had a good impression, so I decided to go again. It's conveniently located close to the station. The main seating is at the counter, but there are also one seat each of four-person and two-person tatami rooms. Since there were four of us, we sat in the tatami room. The sunken kotatsu seating was a nice touch. We started with a toast with draft beer. For food, we ordered a sashimi platter, simmered sardines, and nikujaga (meat and potato stew). It was nice to see home-style dishes on the menu. We ordered a two-person portion for the platter, which was quite generous. It was enough for four of us. The simmered sardines were so tender that you could eat the bones. It went well with the drinks. The nikujaga had tender potatoes and carrots, and I liked the flavor. We also had another round of beer. We added some more food too. We ordered anago tempura and hamburger steak. The hamburger steak was a homemade dish by the landlady, known as "kaachan." It was topped with a sunny-side-up egg, which was a nice touch. It was very tender and juicy, with a simple and delicious taste that made me crave for white rice. Although we had hamburger steak that day, it seems that the "kaachan series" changes depending on the day. All the dishes were delicious. As we were leaving, the owner said, "You've been here before, right?" even though I had only visited once, and it was a long time ago. I appreciate that they remembered me. I will definitely visit again.

Well well, I can't stop exploring new restaurants in Temma as usual ( ̄▽ ̄) On this day, I visited a shop that I had been curious about for a while! I had thought that a new shop had opened, but it seems that this shop was relocated from the Higashi-dori Shotengai near Umeda (I heard it from the owner ♫). The interior of the shop is mainly counter seating, but there are also table seats in the back. There is a TV in the kitchen, so even if you visit alone like me, you can enjoy yourself enough! I ordered a bottle of beer and the following menu items (^-^)/ ★Menu items received★ Appetizer ☆3.5 Assorted sashimi ☆3.5 Miso cream cheese ☆3.4 Appetizer ☆3.5 Udo and ohitashi. Both were appetizers, and they were elaborate and quite good (^ ^) Appetizers at izakayas are often just random dishes, but the ones here were like "obanzai" and tasted delicious ♫ Assorted sashimi ☆3.5 It was an assortment of Yokowa, flounder, and striped jack for the day (^ ^) All of them were quite fresh, especially the striped jack had a nice amount of fat typical of farmed fish (^o^) Around this time, I ordered sake. I had the recommended local sake (forgot the name) from the owner, but personally, I found it a bit too light and lacking... haha Miso cream cheese ☆3.5 It's a simple dish of cream cheese topped with miso, but don't underestimate it... It's delicious ( ̄▽ ̄) haha Since trying this combination here, I always make this dish at home when drinking sake ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ If you put some effort into it, you might end up drinking endless amounts of sake with just this addictive dish \(^o^)/ Overall, it was a great restaurant! The food was good, but what impressed me more was the personality of the owner and the comfortable atmosphere. The owner is not the type to be overly friendly, but he maintains a good distance while serving customers (^o^) If you start a conversation, he will respond warmly, and when you're just chilling and drinking while watching TV, he will leave you alone perfectly haha I like to talk to the staff when I go drinking alone, but I get a bit tired if I talk non-stop from start to finish... (I'm a bit selfish haha) In that sense, I really liked the owner's perfect distance here (*^^*) Next time, I'll invite my friends to come. And with that pleasant feeling, I left the streets of Temma at night. Thank you for the meal (^-^)/

<I visited the seasonal cuisine restaurant Kayou in Temma on November 1, 2016. The restaurant had been operating near Doyama in East Street Shopping District for 37 years before relocating to Temma on October 14. This was my first time visiting the restaurant, as I was not aware of it when it was in Doyama. The restaurant has a cozy interior with about 8 seats at the counter and 2 tables. The seating arrangement felt a bit cramped, especially with the short tables in the front. I started with a bottle of Kirin Lager and some appetizers while waiting for my dishes. The assorted sashimi plate included fresh tuna, sea bream, squid, and yellowtail, all with firm and delicious flesh. I also enjoyed the grilled ginkgo nuts, which were cooked over an open flame and seasoned with coarse salt. The simmered sardines in plum sauce were tender and easy to eat, with just the right amount of seasoning. The miso-marinated black cod, similar to Kyoto-style grilled fish, was beautifully presented and had a perfect balance of flavors. Overall, everything was delicious. They also have a variety of sake available, which I will have to try next time. A great dining experience, thank you for the meal!>
