Sushi restaurant opened on 6/8 at Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City, affiliated with the popular Tokyo restaurant "Manten Sushi". I had previously visited the "Manten Sushi" in Tokyo and was looking forward to its opening here. I happened to have some business in Daimyo on this day, so when I arrived at the restaurant, there was no lunch menu displayed outside. So, I had to ask inside. The lunch set was 5,500 yen. I arrived just before 12 pm, and although the restaurant was busy, I was lucky to find a seat at the counter. The 11,000 yen course requires a reservation, but the 5,500 yen lunch set does not. The space was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. There were over 10 seats at the counter, and also 3 tables for 4 people each. I happened to sit in front of the manager (I think). The lunch set I had was the omakase lunch: 5,500 yen (tax included; credit card accepted). The dishes were delicious and the portions were generous, especially for the price. The staff were friendly and the overall experience was pleasant. I plan to return with my husband next time to try the 11,000 yen course.

I went to Sushi Warai on the 2nd floor of Daimyo Garden City around 12 o'clock. Surprisingly, I was the only customer at that time. I ordered the lunch set for 5500 yen (tax included) with tea to drink. The sushi set included 10 rolls with a variety of items such as abalone, snow crab chawanmushi, and grilled tuna. The soup was clam soup, and dessert was Shine Muscat grapes. I forgot to take a picture of the conger eel and Shine Muscat. There is also a 10000 yen course available which offers higher quality. However, the 5000 yen lunch set was very satisfying and the sushi tasted great for the price. I would recommend it to those who want to enjoy casual counter sushi for lunch.

"Smile" On August 14, 2023, I had some business in Tenjin which was quickly taken care of, and then I thought, "I want to eat sushi." However, it was a bit of a dilemma because it was Obon season, and the sushi restaurants known for their fresh ingredients in town were likely closed. I usually rely on Sushi Nishino to accommodate my last-minute requests, but of course, it was not possible today. Lesson learned: plan ahead. So, I called Sushi Warai, which opened in June at Daimyo Garden City, and managed to make a reservation. I was curious because a fellow craftsman from my hometown, whom I had previously encountered at another sushi restaurant, had joined their team. When I arrived, that craftsman welcomed me with a smile! The lunch course for 10,000 yen was excellent. The sea bream and flounder sashimi were delicious, and they even served abalone and spiny lobster! The Boston tuna was outstanding, surpassing even domestic varieties in taste during the summer. The amount of purple sea urchin was impressive! They finished with a roll wrapped in dried gourd, which was apparently a specialty from their Tokyo branch. There were some snacks with a slightly strong salty taste, but the overall composition was unique and satisfying. It would have been even better if there were some small fish like sardines. But above all, the craftsman was cheerful, lively, and had a big smile. It's true that if you want someone to smile, you should greet them with a smile. ¥11,000 for the omakase course. Located on the 2nd floor of Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City. Excellent cost performance. Definitely worth a repeat visit. Despite looking intimidating, the staff are friendly and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese sake, butter soy sauce with Ise lobster, and abalone. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

When staying at The Ritz-Carlton in Fukuoka, I used the restaurant. I had been to the Tokyo location a few times before, but this was my first time at the Fukuoka location. I contacted them at 5:30 pm and was grateful that I could visit from 6 pm. The atmosphere was casual and not pretentious, making it perfect for a laid-back sushi experience. The staff's greetings and attentiveness, as well as the smiles matching the restaurant's name, were great. The head chef was able to customize the menu for Fukuoka, and they only sourced fish that met their positive standards. I appreciated hearing about their dedication and feeling it during the meal. There were about 20 dishes in total, and the sushi rice was substantial, providing a satisfying meal. I had 3-4 drinks, yet the cost was only 12,000 yen per person, which was truly surprising. The Garden City area may not be bustling yet, which could explain why it was not crowded, but I hope it becomes busier gradually. It's a mix of emotions - happy to see it thriving but also worried it may become harder to access. I definitely want to visit again.

A new restaurant opened under The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, similar to the Manten Sushi chain in Tokyo. I didn't have high expectations, but it was delicious. The vinegar used in the sushi rice gives it a nice edge that lasts until the end. I really liked it. For 11,000 yen, you get white shrimp, abalone, and half a spiny lobster - amazing value. I'm worried it will become a reservation-only restaurant soon. The atmosphere is lively, but with this value, it's totally worth it.

I originally wanted to go to the yakitori restaurant next door, but it was full so I ended up going to the sushi restaurant. They only had the 5500 and 11000 yen courses for lunch, and since I have another party to attend at night, I decided to try the 5500 yen course. Personally, I was impressed by the great value for the price and the satisfying portion. I enjoyed all the dishes. A couple of things to note: 1️⃣ I understand the recommendation for the 11000 yen course, but it was a bit pushy, like maybe 1% too much haha. 2️⃣ They served clams twice, which was a bit disappointing. It's a high-end restaurant, so I guess that's why. The second time was a bit hard to eat. 3️⃣ The customers next to me were friends with the staff, so they received special treatment. It's nice, but maybe the staff should be more professional in front of new customers. Well, maybe I'm just being petty.

This sushi restaurant is located in Daimyo Garden City next to The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka. It has a bright and lively atmosphere. The chef is very friendly, I'm sure. In the evening, they only offer an 11,000 yen course. The lineup was truly surprising. We started with nodoguro, which was delicious with its rich flavor. The amount of spiny lobster was incredible. We also had steamed sea urchin, which was very rich. I think the quality of this lineup at this price point is amazing. In recent years, sushi in Fukuoka has become more expensive, so I think this lineup at this price is amazing. It seems like a good choice for those who may feel nervous at the counter or are trying sushi for the first time.

I was looking forward to it and went. It was very delicious. It exceeded my expectations. I will go again. Thank you for the meal.

The flow is good, and the pace is just right.

It's a lively and welcoming restaurant. The sushi with red vinegar is delicious and has good value for money. I definitely want to go back to eat there again.

I ordered the omakase course. It consisted of various types of fresh sushi made with fresh fish. I have been three times since June and have been satisfied each time.

The 5,000 yen lunch set is the best. It comes with tuna rolls, sea urchin, and kampyo.
