I have always wanted to visit this restaurant! I arrived around 11 am on a holiday and there were only two people inside. There are only about 6 seats available, so depending on the time, you may not be able to sit. There were many different cakes to choose from, but I ended up ordering the Tart Chocolat and an iced tea. Tart Chocolat 756 yen Iced tea 660 yen There are 4 counter seats by the window, so people passing by can see you.

Since they didn't have the cake I wanted, I had soft serve ice cream instead. It was delicious! There are only 6 seats for dining in, so you might not be able to sit depending on the timing. I would like to come back again for a rematch!

After visiting the Kyocera Museum of Art, we walked to this place. It was full, so we chose our cakes first and waited a bit inside the store. Once we were seated, there were empty tables, so it may depend on timing. The cakes had delicate flavors and were very delicious. There were also many chocolates displayed that caught our attention!

A few minutes from Higashiyama Station. There are many coin parking lots around if you go by car. I wanted to eat in, but it was full, so I bought it to go. I personally liked that there was chocolate inside the manju. Thank you for the meal.

In the middle, there is a chocolate cream with a hint of salt, stamped on the chocolate. The middle is thinner than the image of traditional Japanese sweets. The chocolate cream inside has a fluffy texture. Located in Kyoto, this combination of chocolate and middle, along with individual packaging, makes it a popular souvenir.

I bought some baked goods at a event and finally got the cream puff I had my eye on. There was a long line of customers, and I was worried because there was only one left, but I managed to get it! The pastry had crispy chocolate on the outside and rich chocolate cream on the inside, which was irresistible for a chocolate lover like me! The croissant was also delicious.

This is a chocolatier located in Higashiyama. They offer high-quality chocolates, wagashi, and baked goods on Sanjo Street. The concept is to make the deliciousness of chocolate more accessible. Popular items include the Mona Chocolat, which is chocolate cream wrapped in a mochi shell, and various wagashi for eating in. The store opened in April 2018. The chocolatier, Onobayashi, is a former member of Club Harie. The location is about a 4-minute walk from Higashiyama Station Exit 1. You can find it by heading towards Kiyomizu Temple on Sanjo Street, crossing the Sanjo Jingu Road intersection, and turning at the first corner. My last visit was in September 2022. I purchased the Bonbon Chocolat (HISASHI SELECTION B), Rocher, and Gaia Tablet. I really liked the Rocher, so I decided to revisit. I went back in the afternoon. The selection was similar to the previous visit. The service was friendly and pleasant. I purchased the following items (tax included prices). Rocher (150g, ¥1,620) - a favorite from my last visit. The balance of roasted almonds and milk chocolate is exquisite. Shelf life is about 2.5 months. Ingredients: Milk chocolate (made in Belgium), almonds, granulated sugar, eggs/emulsifier (contains milk, eggs, almonds, and soy). Double Praline (70g, ¥1,296) - milk chocolate with praline. A flavor that doesn't get old. Shelf life is about 11 months. Ingredients: Milk chocolate (made in France), almonds, hazelnuts, granulated sugar, malt puffs, vanilla powder/raising agent, emulsifier (contains milk, almonds, and soy). Nut BAR Marron (2 pieces, ¥972) - a chocolate bar with nuts, chestnuts, and mochi. The chocolate flavor is subtle with a light texture, but the chestnut flavor is not very noticeable. Shelf life is about 5 months. Ingredients: Chocolate, mochi, cashew nuts, almonds, sugar, cocoa powder, chestnut powder, vegetable fats, whole milk powder, sake lees powder, colorings (caramel, gardenia), modified starch, flavorings, emulsifier (contains milk). I chose two out of the four Mona Chocolat (chocolate cream sandwiched between mochi) options. I enjoyed the difference between the chocolate cream with and without milk. Mona Chocolat (¥486) - chocolate cream sandwiched between mochi. The fluffy chocolate cream balances well with the crispy mochi shell. Shelf life is about 2 months. Ingredients: Chocolate (domestic and French), vegetable fats, hazelnuts, sugar, skimmed milk powder, malt puffs, mochi shell, salt/raising agent, emulsifier (contains milk, wheat, and soy). Mona Chocolat NEXT (¥486) - a new product with chocolate cream without milk sandwiched between mochi. I prefer this one as it has a nutty and cocoa flavor. Shelf life is about 2 months. Ingredients: Chocolate (made in France), vegetable fats, hazelnuts, coconuts, sugar, almonds, malt puffs, mochi shell, salt, vanilla powder/raising agent, emulsifier (contains wheat, soy, almonds). The Rocher leaves a lasting delicious taste. If I ever pass by Higashiyama, I will definitely revisit.

I visited the chocolate shop Hisashi that I had been curious about for a while since I was nearby☺︎ There was an eat-in space with a counter that could seat 4-5 people, but it was almost full. Although a seat was about to open up soon, I decided to get takeout. I had one piece of chocolate cake, one cream puff, and a triple chocolate cake. The rich chocolate cake was enjoyable with different textures. The cream puff had a crispy choux pastry with a good aftertaste of chocolate cream. I ate them right away (lol). The soft serve ice cream had chocolate topping and was irresistible for chocolate lovers. The chocolate soft serve had a bitter taste and was very delicious♡

I've always wanted to try Mont Blanc and finally got to have it! What stood out to me was the cream inside - it's rich yet light, and pairs perfectly with the chestnut filling. The meringue on the bottom adds a nice crunch that lasts until the last bite. The chocolate "H" on top melts in your mouth and the mousse-like cream inside is delicious. I want to try other cakes next time, maybe even the chocolate ice cream. The iced cafe latte was also to my liking - the mix happens naturally as you drink. The seating area is small, so it might get crowded depending on the time.

In Kyoto's Higashiyama area, there is a famous chocolate shop that I had never been to before. The staff and customers are all young women, so it was a bit intimidating to go in. During a break from work, I went out for lunch and ended up wandering around the Higashiyama area for about 30 minutes. I saw a woman enjoying chocolate soft serve ice cream, which looked really delicious. So, I gathered up my courage and went into the shop to order the soft serve ice cream. However, I got distracted by the other delicious-looking cakes on display. In the end, I stuck to my original plan and ordered the soft serve ice cream and a coffee for dine-in. The chocolate soft serve ice cream arrived and it looked so fancy. I took a bite and it was rich and flavorful, without being too sweet. It was so good that I could have eaten more, but of course, too much would be too many calories. I will gather up my courage again next time and try eating in with one of their cakes!

As I was walking from Nanzen-ji Temple to the bus stop, I came across a shop that chocolate lovers couldn't resist stopping by. Even though I hadn't planned on buying anything, I decided to go in. The display case was filled with delicious chocolates and sweets, and I couldn't help but want to try something. I ended up buying a pistachio macaron and a chocolate croissant, even though the chocolates were quite expensive. They were both delicious choices! They had unique flavors like miso, matcha, black tea, raspberry, and classic ganache, which caught my interest. I definitely want to splurge and try some of those next time.

Soft serve ice cream "Gaia" was delicious! Thank you♪ This shop is located just a few minutes' walk from Higashiyama Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway. I visited around 4:30 pm on a weekday. This is a shop by chocolatier Nori Onobayashi. I enjoyed the luxurious soft serve ice cream "Gaia" made with exquisite chocolate inside the shop. The elegant chocolate flavor was delicious.

First visit. Ono Hayashi Nori, who serves as the head chef at Club Harie and won the World Pastry Team Championship (WPTC) in 2012 and was the runner-up in the World Chocolate Masters in 2015, has his own chocolate shop. It is simple but has an eat-in option. I decided to buy Kyoto souvenirs here after seeing a review by a certain MyRebi-san. I was aiming for the Mona Chocolat, a chocolate cream puff. The Mont Blanc is also famous, so I might try that too. Sweet! Too sweet!! I was too naive to think that just because it's a chocolate shop, it wouldn't be too sweet!!! When I arrived at the shop for a snack time, there were no wagashi (Japanese sweets) left. It's a very popular shop. There was also an option to eat-in and have chocolate soft serve ice cream, but this time I decided to only get takeout. Luckily, there were plenty of Bonbon Chocolat and Mona Chocolat left. Mona Chocolat (432 yen for 2 pieces), Mona Chocolat Matcha (464 yen for 2 pieces), Mona Chocolat Marron (486 yen for 2 pieces), HISASHI SELECTION C (3780 yen), Total: 6544 yen. HISASHI SELECTION C is a set of Bonbon Chocolat for souvenirs (of course, for myself, but who cares?). I will enjoy it slowly after returning to Tokyo. In addition to the souvenirs, I also bought some snacks, so I immediately tasted them. It's a snack with a soft chocolate cream sandwiched between crispy cream puff dough. The scent of chocolate is lighter compared to serious chocolate, but that lightness gives it a casual souvenir feel. Despite being light, it's still a chocolate shop. It has a much better chocolate scent than convenience store sweets. It's light in weight, individually wrapped, delicious... Overall, it's quite excellent as a Kyoto souvenir.

Arrived 30 minutes before opening on a regular day. First in line. The Mont Blanc dessert has such a beautiful form, it almost looks like a piece of art. When you cut into it, the knife slides in smoothly. The not-too-sweet whipped cream complements the chestnut cream perfectly. Inside, there is a juicy chestnut. The meringue on top is crispy. The chocolate coating around it adds a nice touch. It's rare to find a meringue Mont Blanc in this heat, so it was satisfying and delightful. The Gaia Chocolate dessert is a dream for chocolate lovers, with chocolate in every bite. The thick, crispy chocolate coating on the outside and the not overly sweet chocolate inside create a perfect balance. Every part offers a different chocolate flavor to enjoy. Even the biscuit at the bottom is chocolate. It has a hint of saltiness that ties everything together. From Saitama to Kyoto, the trip was worth it. I will definitely visit again.

A must-visit chocolate shop representing Kyoto! When you enter the store, you'll see rows of chocolates and lots of cakes! The GAIA71 Mont Blanc was shockingly delicious. The round GAIA71 is the store's signature item! When you break the crispy chocolate on the outside, smooth chocolate mousse comes out. The chocolate cream and mousse melt in your mouth with a rich flavor that's not overpowering at all! Even the chocolate shortbread at the bottom was delicious! The tall and beautiful Mont Blanc that can only be enjoyed during this season! This Mont Blanc was the best I've ever had! The crispy meringue melts in your mouth, with mascarpone cream at the base and chestnut paste around it! The chestnut was so rich, it felt like eating chestnut sweet potato. I definitely want to visit this chocolate shop again!

There are many delicious Western confectioneries available, but I often purchase baked confectioneries like madeleines because of their short shelf life. This shop combines chocolate with traditional Japanese sweets to create unique Western-style confectioneries. Although the products are a bit pricey, I decided to try them to expand the variety of gifts I can give. I purchased the following items: Monashokora - a Monaka with chocolate mousse filling that has a light and airy texture, enhanced by a touch of salt. Monashokora Matcha - a matcha version of Monashokora. Financier Chocolat - a cocoa financier with a moist texture, infused with brandy and a hint of cinnamon. All of the products offer a higher level of satisfaction and would make a great gift for someone special.
