I tried the usual restaurant I always go to, "Tonton" and "Okaasan no Onabe," which I had been curious about for a while. I decided to order the miso hot pot with ramen as a side dish, and on another day, I tried the mapo tofu rice bowl with shumai, and the Japanese set meal (sea bream and egg bowl with mini udon). The miso hot pot was full of ingredients and had a generous amount of toppings, including Chinese cabbage, shimeji mushrooms, green onions, imitation crab sticks, and large meatballs. The ramen that came with it was a great deal for only 1000 yen. The flavor of the miso hot pot was similar to Sapporo Ichiban miso ramen, with a gentle and natural taste. The mapo tofu rice bowl had a soy sauce base and a rounded, rich mapo flavor that was easy on the palate. The shumai was decent but nothing special. The Japanese set meal with sea bream and egg bowl had a comforting taste, with sea bream slices in the egg bowl giving it a subtle fish broth flavor. The mini udon portion was just right, and overall, the meal was satisfying. Tonton's food is always delicious and never gets boring for lunch.

It's been about a year since I last visited. I thought they didn't have the B set meal anymore, but it turns out the owner passed away... I was surprised because they seemed healthy the last time I saw them in the kitchen. I ordered the Wagyu stamina set meal. It comes with an egg. I had an extra serving of rice, even though it's an additional charge. The atmosphere has changed a bit. The daughter and mother are now running the restaurant. I want to support them.

After a long time, I visited Tagawa's "Tonton" for lunch and saw that the Chinese-style pork cutlet bowl is back! Unfortunately, today seems to be a regular holiday, but they were open for lunch only for the nearby regular customers. However, the Chinese menu was not available today as the daughter was absent. Nevertheless, there was no need to worry as I decided to have the daily special shrimp fry set meal. The natural jumbo shrimp fry set meal was offered at a reasonable price, and the humble landlady mentioned that it was actually too cheap for the quality provided. The shrimp fry was huge and delicious, served with potato salad, rice, and miso soup. A few days later, I revisited to try the Chinese-style pork cutlet bowl. The dish was served with miso soup, two side dishes, and pickles, all for a very affordable price. The pork cutlet was large and had a crispy coating with a tender and flavorful meat. The sauce was a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, giving the dish a refined taste. The following week, I visited again and tried the C set meal, which included clam ramen, half portion of dumplings, and rice. The ramen had a delicious broth made from chicken bones, roasted jaw, and dried shiitake mushrooms. The noodles were firm and satisfying, and the clam added a unique flavor to the dish. The dumplings were juicy and flavorful, with a perfect balance of ingredients. Overall, Tonton's food was consistently delicious, and I found myself looking forward to my next visit to try more of their menu items.

In May, the previous owner suddenly passed away and the restaurant was temporarily closed. However, they have now reopened as a Chinese and Japanese restaurant. I went for lunch to try it out. They don't have the Chinese-style cutlet bowl yet, but the owner mentioned they will gradually add more menu items. Today, I tried the daily special C set meal, which was a combination of egg and chive omelet and oil-drizzled chicken. The oil-drizzled chicken was crispy on the outside and had a tangy sauce that wasn't too heavy, perfect with beer. The egg and chive omelet had a rich flavor but was surprisingly gentle. It had a good amount of meat and the egg was delicious. The next day, I tried the seafood and crab stick bowl, which was more like a seafood and egg over rice bowl. It had a gentle flavor and the squid was chewy. It was light and easy to eat, even when paired with ramen. I recommend ordering dumplings or shumai on the side for a fuller meal. I plan to try the spring rolls next time.

Today was also great! I've been working in this area for corona measures, but starting next week I'll be back to regular work and returning to the place I was before, so the last thing I want to eat is TonTon's B set meal. This is only 800 yen, can you believe it? It's too amazing. On a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. Thank you for the meal, I'll come back again!

I found a great restaurant. The B set meal is only 800 yen and the portion size is really good for the price. It seems to be run by a couple and has a cozy atmosphere. There are a lot of manga available. I have found a new favorite restaurant. I want to go back again, no, I will definitely go back.

Today's lunch was at Tonton, a popular Chinese restaurant in Juso. They serve delicious Chinese-style dishes like katsudon, tenshinhan, and especially tasty karaage. One intriguing item not listed on the menu but displayed on the wall is the curry ramen set. Priced at 800 yen, it includes curry ramen and a small portion of fried rice. I decided to try the fried rice today, as I had never had it before. The curry ramen set was a delightful choice. The soup, recommended by Misato Katsuragi, was a blend of half curry and half regular broth, reminiscent of Nissin curry noodles. The soup had a slight thickness and was filled with ingredients like bamboo shoots, onions, cabbage, green onions, pork, carrots, and thin fried tofu. The curly noodles were soft and chewy, complementing the curry soup well. Despite being described as "small," the fried rice was surprisingly generous in portion, with firm rice and a light seasoning that paired perfectly with the pickled ginger. This nostalgic and delicious flavor combination made the meal truly enjoyable.

The other day, I had a wonderful encounter with Chinese-style katsudon at a place called Tonton, and since then it has become my favorite restaurant. In early October, during lunchtime on a weekday, I visited the restaurant two days in a row. On the first day, I tried the Tenshinhan. It looked very delicious with lots of ingredients, and the prawn tempura on top was so juicy. The taste was just as I expected, a mild salt-flavored dish. The presentation was simple, but the taste was very comforting for some reason. The next day, I was debating whether to order the Sweet and Sour Pork set for 600 yen or the B Set for 800 yen. I ended up choosing the B Set, and it was surprisingly luxurious for the price. It included Sweet and Sour Pork, Mixed Vegetables, Tamagoyaki, and Karaage. The Karaage was unexpectedly delicious, with a crispy outside and juicy inside. It had a unique texture that almost melted in your mouth. The Sweet and Sour Pork had a good chewy texture with a balanced sweet and sour flavor. The Tamagoyaki was average. The Mixed Vegetables had the same mild flavor as the Tenshinhan. And to my surprise, there were some fried noodles in the Mixed Vegetables, which added a nice touch. Overall, it was a delightful meal experience at Tonton.

I found a restaurant called "Tonton" when I was heading to a nearby Western-style restaurant. It's a bit difficult to tell if it's open or closed, but I heard it was open when I passed by the other day. The menu outside showed that they have a pork set meal for only 600 yen, and even a tonkatsu set meal. I have to go check it out. On another day, I visited for lunch at around 11:30, a bit early for lunch. There was one other customer already there. I asked the lady at the restaurant if they could make a katsudon, and she happily said they could. I later noticed that katsudon was actually on the menu (laughs). I'm excited and looking forward to trying the katsudon. The katsudon costs 800 yen and includes onions, shimeji mushrooms, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, and seaweed. Seaweed? That's so Japanese! The katsudon has a Chinese-style appearance with a white sauce, but the taste is more like a Japanese dish. The egg topping is fluffy and the sauce is gently flavored. The katsu has a rich flavor and is tender. The combination of the light sauce and the flavorful katsu is great. It's like a Japanese twist on a Chinese-style katsudon. The soup is a tofu soup with a ginger flavor, which is light and delicious. I mistook it for miso soup at first glance (laughs). Overall, the katsudon was delicious, and I also saw that the sweet and sour pork looked good. They have a set menu with ramen too. I'll have to try the sweet and sour pork next time.

I always use this restaurant. The fried rice and stamina set meal are delicious, and it's a long-established store that has been around for over 20 years.

Both Chinese and Japanese friends recommended this restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. They all said the food is delicious, especially since they use high-quality black wagyu beef. I couldn't decide between the Stamina Donburi and the classic Chuka Donburi, but this time I chose the Stamina Donburi! The meat was excellent, but the sauce was exceptionally delicious! The rice was so good that I couldn't stop eating! The homemade potato salad was also very tasty. They use good quality meat, put effort into their cooking, and the prices are reasonable. I wondered how they could survive in such a remote area for so many years. It was a good decision to come a little later during lunchtime as it was quite crowded when we arrived!
