This is a dining place at Naniwa no Yu. I ordered the Koshi-dano mackerel set meal that I had been curious about for a while. It was a salt-grilled set meal. The mackerel wasn't too fatty, the salt seasoning was just right, and the meat wasn't thick, it was a bit chewy. The rice here is also on the firm side.

In Naniwa no Yu, there is a dining area where I went for lunch today! It's nice to have a meal after taking a bath. The space is relatively large with big tables, so even sitting with 4 people feels spacious. The tables are sunken kotatsu style, so it's comfortable for the elderly. They have lunch menus as well as a grand menu available during lunch hours. My husband, who is recovering from an illness, enjoyed the soba set meal for its lightness. I ordered the soba set meal with grated yam tofu, sashimi, tempura, and seaweed soba. The dishes are quite generous in portion size. The taste is average. The tempura batter was a bit hard, but crispy. As a restaurant in a bathhouse, there is enough variety to enjoy. Families can enjoy bathing together and then have a leisurely meal here before relaxing at home, which I think would make the wife happy. Even for a date, this kind of relaxed atmosphere is nice.

A hot spring located on the upper floor of a pachinko parlor. There are two dining areas inside, and this one is a separate space with a name. It has spacious and bright raised seating. I was tempted by the eel bowl and soba set, but ended up ordering the Morioka-style cold noodles after looking at the menu. It took quite a while to be served. I was in a hurry though... When it arrived, I was impressed by its visually appealing presentation. Maybe it was made by a new staff member. The cucumber was a bit bitter. The taste was as expected, so it was okay, but... let's try slicing the cucumber a bit thinner next time!!! Thank you for the meal! 🌟

This is Naniwa no Yu, and they have quite a few restaurants here. I was hungry so I went for a hearty meal of tonkatsu and curry udon, which seemed like something an athlete would eat. The tonkatsu was delicious as usual, and the curry udon was also very tasty.

I used it at the hot springs. It has a good portion size and is quite delicious. I almost made a mistake and went to the restaurant in the front, but the one in the back is the one to go to. I will definitely visit again.

Tonight, I decided to relax by soaking in a public bath and traveled all the way to Naniwa no Yu. After the bath, I went to Yu Shokudo and ordered a pork cutlet bowl with three types of pork meat and a mentaiko (spicy cod roe) rolled omelette. I was satisfied with the amount and taste of the pork in the cutlet bowl, and the rolled omelette was cooked just right, fluffy and not overdone. Sometimes, it's nice to relax at a public bath and enjoy a meal outside like this.

It's the start of 2017, and I lounged around at a super sento (public bath) to kick off the year. "Yu Shokuya" is one of the dining establishments located at "Naniwa no Yu," a super sento in Tennoji. The spacious interior is beautifully decorated with light brown traditional Japanese tables, all of which are sunken kotatsu tables. There are 9 tables for 6 people and 4 tables for 4 people, making it a great place for families to relax while visiting the bathhouse. Some of the main menu items include various curry udon (starting at 800 yen), soba noodles (starting at 510 yen), and udon noodles (starting at 510 yen). They also offer curry, salads, fried foods, set meals, and luxurious meals suitable for all ages. I tried the "New Delicious Curry Kuro Udon" (830 yen), which came in a large bowl that was about 13cm deep and 25cm in diameter. It was a bit difficult to eat directly from the bowl, so I transferred it to a smaller plate. The curry had a hint of garlic, providing just the right amount of spiciness and creaminess. It was easy to eat and satisfying, with plenty of fried tofu and meat to fill up my post-bath hunger. For dessert, I had the "Shiratama Cream Azuki" (380 yen), which was a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, it was a relaxing experience dining at this cozy restaurant with sunken kotatsu tables. On this day, I visited Naniwa no Yu with my child. The location is along Jokita Park Street, just before the Tenjinbashi 8 intersection on the left hand side heading towards Umeda. There are many facilities such as pachinko and yakiniku, but on the 8th floor, there are baths, dining areas, and corners. The interior of the restaurant has tatami seating and also resembles a food court. This time, we ordered "Matcha Soft Serve" and "Pudding". The Matcha Soft Serve didn't have as strong of a matcha flavor as it looked, more like a matcha hint. It was not too sweet and even adults could enjoy it. The Pudding is sold at the entrance and they bake it right in front of you, which was entertaining. They also had warabi mochi, grapefruit jelly, and more. Some people were eating inside the food court after bathing, while others were taking their purchases home. The atmosphere is nice, so many people may end up buying something just because of the ambiance. I think I will also end up buying something next time I visit. Thank you for the meal.

I recently visited Naniwa no Yu for the first time and I really liked it. Since it has gotten quite cool today, I thought the open-air bath would feel nice, so I headed there. Before going to the bath, I stopped by this restaurant inside for a meal. I had the chicken thigh simmered in vinegar with sashimi set. I also had a couple of beers and felt quite relaxed, but I came here to go to the bath so I left. An hour later, after bathing, I came back for another visit (laughs) because I wanted to drink beer! '2015/06 Revisit Today, I went to Yu Shokuka (Tenjinbashi store). It's a nice place to have a drink after refreshing at Naniwa no Yu. I enjoyed a delicious beer. I also spent a lot of time in the sauna. I sweated a lot and my throat was dry. Now, let's have a delicious beer. After a bath, you have to drink draft beer. Cheers~ Ah, delicious!! After sweating in the sauna and feeling refreshed, I visit this restaurant. They offer homemade dishes like Yu Shokuka Nabe and Shabu-Shabu. There seems to be a variety of dishes. Here is an overview of the restaurant. The restaurant is located at the back on the left after you exit the bath. It's nicely designed. The atmosphere is calming. The entrance of the restaurant. The entire place is non-smoking. It's commendable. After a refreshing bath, you can't stand the smell of cigarettes sticking to your clothes or hair. It's wonderful. Now, let's enter the restaurant. This will be the start of something new. Draft beer is 550 yen. Ice-cold beer is so delightful. Ah, delicious!! It's the best. I drank half of it in one go. Here is today's side dish. I ordered the octopus with wasabi for 400 yen. It's for the first round. You have to drink and eat quickly. The wasabi adds a nice spicy kick. The side dish was so delicious that I secretly ordered another draft beer. (laughs) The atmosphere inside the restaurant. The interior consists of large table seats in a sunken kotatsu style. The spacing between tables is wide, allowing you to enjoy your meal leisurely. The tables and floors are sparkling clean. The wooden design creates a calming and traditional Japanese atmosphere. At the back, there is a small garden-like element, which is nice. Eating while looking at the houseplants is a pleasant experience. I think it's better than your average izakaya. Yu Shokuka. This is one of my favorite places. It's convenient to come here after a bath, and the beer and food are delicious. The atmosphere and service are excellent. If you come to Naniwa no Yu by train, the chances of coming here are high. Naniwa no Yu is fantastic. It will be very useful as the weather gets warmer and you sweat more. I must visit again. This time, I visited Yuushokuya Tenjinbashi store located inside a super sento in Tenjinbashi. It's a bit far from my local area, but I came here to relieve my daily fatigue and maybe some excess weight by seeking out a super sento. On the way there, I passed by Tanimachi-suji and planned to visit a certain restaurant, but it was closed so I gave up. I decided to just find a place to eat inside the facility, which is a bad habit of mine... I've found that most restaurants inside super sentos or health lands don't really have delicious food. There was even a yakiniku restaurant, but I decided to skip it. It's ridiculous to come seeking health and end up eating yakiniku here. So, I decided to have a light meal before going into the bath. The restaurant is located on the 7th floor of the facility, and you pay the usage fee at the ticket machine after taking off your shoes at the shoe locker. However, there was a fantastic limited-time set at the ticket machine! It was a weekday limited set for 1000 yen, which includes a bathing fee of 750 yen and a meal set of 250 yen. The meal set includes a draft beer with edamame or hiyayakko, or a nameko donburi or soba with onigiri set. It was such a great deal that I didn't hesitate to choose it. After eating, I went for the bath and had a draft beer and soba with onigiri set for 250 yen. I also ordered the seasonal rice and udon set (750 yen) which was recommended. I was surprised by the extensive menu and the level of quality of the dishes here. The prices were surprisingly low for the quality they offered. The draft beer, Kirin Lager, was only 250 yen and it was served in a chilled glass with clear foam. It was so good! The soba noodle was instant, but it was delicious and worth the price. The daily special set included sesame-flavored sea bream rice, kenchin udon, and chicken thigh nanban-zuke. The sea bream rice had a subtle sesame flavor and the kenchin udon was tasty with a good balance of vegetable richness and udon smoothness. The chicken thigh nanban-zuke was okay, but the onion flavor was a bit strong. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. This restaurant may be just average if you eat outside of this kind of facility, but considering it's inside a super sento, it might be the best restaurant I've encountered. I even lost 1.5 kg after enjoying the meal and going to the sauna. Of course, I've gained it back now, but it was a great experience. Thank you for the delicious meal.
