After dining at Ogawa for home cooking in Kyobashi, I got off at Tamatsukuri Station and visited the recommended restaurant by the owner of Biyu, a Yamagata cuisine restaurant. Nakajima Shoten had a wide variety of menu options and I could feel the meticulousness in their cooking. They served grilled conger eel, live green turban shell sashimi, and young sweetfish tempura, along with a special tadezu vinegar for the grilled sweetfish. Looking at the menu, I noticed a big menu item featuring Yamato Jidori chicken! I will definitely revisit and try the chicken next time. It's a really lovely restaurant. Tamatsukuri is amazing!

The fish was fresh and delicious. It goes well with sake. I want to have more of the Pacific saury sashimi and grilled octopus! The seafood bowl is also great value! The rice is really delicious, you can tell they pay attention to it!

A izakaya where the fish is delicious. I'm not a fan of salmon, but I was able to enjoy it here! The menu is so extensive that you want to try everything... It's also great for solo dining, and there are table seats in the back for groups too.

I stopped by Nakajima Shoten in Tamatsukuri on May 27, 2018. This used to be the location of a shop called Tabakoya, which didn't end up opening. The interior of the shop has counter seats in the front and table seats in the back, making it quite spacious. I ordered a bottle of Super Dry beer while waiting for my food. - Hachiku Tosani (Bamboo Shoots Cooked in Soy Sauce) Regular bamboo shoots season is coming to an end, but Hachiku bamboo shoots are just in season now. In the countryside mountains (obviously, it's my family's property), there is a corner where Hachiku bamboo shoots grow, which my grandmother used to proudly talk about. I remember one year when someone took them all away, and my grandmother was angry, making me realize how precious they are. Unlike regular bamboo shoots, Hachiku bamboo shoots have soft parts all the way to the top, similar to Japanese asparagus. They are delicious when boiled or made into tempura, and make a perfect side dish. - Sashimi - Live and Killed Isaki Fish from Goto - Sword Cuttlefish Both were slightly lukewarm and not very cold, but the flesh was firm and tasted delicious. It's about time for these to be out of season. Thank you for the meal.

On a regular night, I visited Nakajima Shouten for the first time, after having Chinese food at Tabako-ya. It is an izakaya that opened after years of being in business. There are counter seats near the entrance, giving off a cozy atmosphere, but there are also table seats in the back. On this day, at the counter, I had konnyaku simmered for 380 yen, assorted sashimi, wakasagi tempura for 600 yen, grilled edamame for 480 yen, eggplant stuffed with chicken mince for 680 yen, and grilled salted sea bream for 800 yen. To finish, we had firefly squid rice in a pot for 780 yen. The sashimi platter included 7 types of fish, including the unique Sanuki salmon. The bitterness of the wakasagi tempura was exceptional. The edamame was extra because the beans were small. The sea bream had roe on it. The firefly squid rice was perfect for two people. We enjoyed a variety of seafood and seasonal dishes, as well as chicken and wagyu beef at this izakaya. There is a TV at the entrance where you can watch baseball games. The previously visited Tabako-ya, where Nakajima Rampo supposedly visited, closed in August last year. Nakajima Shouten may have been named after Nakajima Rampo. The owner's name is Mr. Nakajima. The draft beer is Super Dry. The prices are displayed without tax.

I have used this restaurant twice. Initially, I visited for the chanko-nabe, but the seafood dishes were so fresh and wonderful that it would be a waste to only have the chanko-nabe. The chanko-nabe has a light taste with a flavorful broth, and it is not too strong, so it doesn't get boring. We always order the sashimi platter, and they select high-quality, seasonal fish for us. In addition, the chef's seasonal seafood dishes are also fantastic. The restaurant is always busy, but the service is also great. It is a place where you can feel safe dining with just two people or for a party.
